The First Ring
After Loc had finally come to the final book, after throwing up so much vomit that it could fill a small carriage carriage, she had reached the final page. She spotted that the last page was thicker than the others. She looked closer at the page she then spotted that there were two layers of paper instead of one. She then took out a small and thin knife. She slid the knife between the layers and cut up. She pulled the two apart to reveal that there was a secret page!
Dear Myself,
This piqued her interest after all the passages started with Dear Hadistutt. So she was compelled to read on.
Just in the case I lose my memory or the knowledge of who or what I am, I have hidden the truth in another book, along with the entire story of my life. All you have to do is collect these rings that when combined creates two rings, one silver one gold. So, just because I just love a good adventure I will start by giving myself a few riddles to solve,
I am found where the first dragon is laid to rest,
Where the first hero passed his last lethal test!
I am the place where dragon and man meet,
Where freely they are accepted and greet
I am found where the evilest dragon began,
And started his war with others and man!
I am found where that dragon made his first kill,
Where he discovered his true love and thrill!
I am found at the dragons' army dawn,
Where men, women and children mourn!!
These are the locations of the silver rings. The location of the gold will appear once you have all the silver.
Loc put a marker in her book and then walked with it to Ringer. She soon came to the door and knocked on it.
"Come in!"
She opened the door.
"I've found something." She said as she gave him the book.
He took his time to read the page. He then put the book down and then took a moment to think about something.
"Looks like you have your next mission, however we need to solve the first riddle first." He said. "Read the first riddle."
"I am found where the first dragon is laid to rest, where the first hero passed his last test." She quoted.
"Well, the first dragon is Dagor was laid to rest in the land of Lungslumber in Makinchi, the first hero, Phorap the mad, but something tells me that he's not the first hero that the riddle is referring to." He said.
"How come?"
"The riddle has a dragon theme so as he passed his last test somewhere else but the first hero to the dragons was Mufang. Who was dubbed the Dragon Champion." He explained. "And she passed her most lethal test at the dragon temple exactly where Dagor was buried. However, that was her last lethal test but her last test was in Underground Town when she said her vows."
Then something clicked.
"Oh! I think I know where it is! I might have skimmed it when I was on one of my first missions when I was young!"
Locs' eyebrow raised. She was somehow incapable of seeing him young. Which was odd for she knew that he was her age once but she just could not quite picture it.
"So is that where we're going next?" She asked to keep him on track.
"Appears so." He sighed. "So start packing what you need and you will be setting off in an hour and a half."
She nodded and salouted.
"Sir!"
She then ran off and started packing.
"Off on another mission?" Asked Kuro as he stood at the doorway.
She looked up at him and nodded.
"Where will you be going?" He asked.
"To look for some silver rings." She replied. "Apparently they, along with some gold rings, combine to create a couple of keys that will lead to a book that will uncover the true origin of Grasharlos' parents."
His eyes twitched slightly at the name of his mother. When she had finished packing she stood in front of him.
"So how's your therapy going?" She asked as she passed him. He shrugged.
"Alright. It is just...very difficult opening up about things…" he tailed as his eyes became out of focus. She placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I know, it takes time, just keep it up!"
She was soon in front of the air yot. She walked in and soon was on the leiu just to make sure that she would not need to use it later. She thought as the urine fell her thoughts brought her to Underground Town. It had occurred to her just how long that it had been since that she had been there. She wondered whether or not she would or should return to those childhood places?
No, not at the moment. It would be far too dangerous for them. But do they miss me? Do they want to see me again? Are they worried about me?
She sighed as she closed her eyes. She did not want to answer those questions. Did they hate her just like in Saha? What if they wanted her dead? Did anyone really love her other than Morgan? Or did everyone just want her dead? Coming back to Morgan was she and Ringer using her to their own ends, just like the Sunburners? If so, then what will they do to her once this is all over?
She then the air yot land. She got up and realised that now was not the time to think about those things. She had to focus on the mission at hand. She washed her hands and left the lieu. She picked up her bag and slung it on her back. She then left the air yot.
She then looked at the large temple. There were dragons everywhere the buildings were made up of pillars carved into dragons but this led to a roof of a western dragon in flight. The gardens with blak and white bark trees with purple leaves. Underneath them were yellow and orange flowers.
The stairs outside were made of white crystal and inside was diamond. She walked in trying not to get lost in the beauty of the place. She soon saw a door guarded by a narrow eyed bald man with pale skin, wearing green silk robes with a green dragon stemming from the hip to the shoulder.
"Hello Lorra Cerberus, dragon friend and shard of Grasharlo who will become her redemption. We were expecting you." He said his soft voice thick with an eatern accent.
"You-you have? And what?"
He nodded.
"You heard child and we have been expecting you since you were born. We knew that you were destined to come here and take the Final Lethal Test and when you have passed you get the ring that you desire. However there is another thing that you will need." He said as he led her to a room that was lit by only candles with black wick and a single green flame on each. There was a scarlet mat with crimson edges on the ground.
"This test, what is it?" She asked.
"We do not know, only you can know and you must not tell anyone what happened here." He said.
She nodded as an odd feeling stirred inside her as he left.
"Finally you have come, Lungraing." Spoke a strong and powerful voice.
"Lungraing, is the dragon word for dragon friend. Now it is time for your test." He said.
Loc wondered where the voice was coming from and noticed that there was nobody but her in the room. She then looked up and spotted that there was a green lung looking down at her with his claws digging into the walls. He had a crimson spine with crimson twin whiskers to match making him look like a combination of a majestic lizard and a cat. He then dropped and landed in a catlike way but that did little to stop the ground from shaking under her feet. She kept her balance and remained standing, knowing that she could not allow her to fall.
"Stand strong child! I can see that you are far more respectful and show more respect than you used to. Yes, I can see that you have changed completely."
"What do you mean by that?" She asked.
"You came here once, but that was a long time ago. However I can see that you are not the sort to wish to know about that. No, you wish to become someone else, to form an identity beyond the person you were. Yes I can see that." He said.
Her eyes darkened.
"You mean you've met Grasharlo?" She said dangerously.
"I have, and I am one of many who have survived a battle with the dark lady. Now stay still." He said.
"Wate what-"
He opened his mouth and she was set alight! She found it odd, the fire was burning her but yet she felt no pain. She looked at her body and noticed that, to her astonishment, that the fire was not burning her at all! It was going right through her! She also felt an odd piece as she felt a strange assurance that she would not wake as her sisters did. However if she did wake, it would not be anything like her sisters. She also knew deep down that she was not ever going to be like her sisters nor like the person she was. No, she was not going to become Grasharlo again. Then the flames died down.
"Take it." He said as he gave her the silver ring with a few key teeth on them.
"Wh-was that the test?" She asked.
He nodded.
"You have passed." He said. "In time you shall kill those murderous sisters of yours however by that time you will be older by far. However, shortly you shall leave this world and when you have returned seek out the Dragon Princess and the Demon Slayer Princess and tell them what you have been through."
She nodded.
"Thank you." She said as she turned to leave.
"What would have happened if I had failed?" She asked as she reached the door.
"Then you would have become my next meal." He replied as her hand reached the door. She felt a chill run down her as she nodded. She then left and was soon in the air yot. She left the temple. She remained silent all the way home.
The Second Silver Ring
Loc took out a medium sized lace and put the first ring on. Her and Ringer thought that it was a good idea if she kept the rings and that she would not return until the silver rings were all collected. After all they both knew that she would have to get used to longer missions and Ringer knew that this would be the best way to do it. She looked around and spotted that there was a small aria that opened up to a bed on both ends. She also found that there was a small aria where their food was stored. She then found that there was a small bathroom, where the liue was next to the sink and there was a small shower.
"Lenume`, which bed do you want?" She asked.
"The one on the left." She said.
She nodded and she took the right. She then looked at the bed and she lifted it revealing a small space underneath where she put her backpack in. There was no need to unpack it. She then slammed it down and then turned to her.
"Len, I think that it would be a good idea if you sleep when I'm off collecting the ring. Alright." She said.
"And when are you going to sleep?" She asked.
She smiled.
"While you're piloting of course!" She said. "It would be for the better."
She smiled and nodded.
"Good plan." She said. "Sweet dreams."
"Same to you!" She called as she walked over to it. She opened the cupboard like door and slipped under the covers and closed her eyes. She was woken when Lenume` knocked on the door. She took her time to stirr and was soon out. She got the things that she knew that she needed. She felt her mind was peaceful and clear. It was as if nothing could bother her in this state of mind. Then, it hit her that she knew what she was doing.
So, the Kanyo Serpent Temple was the answer to the riddle eh? Never thought that I'd be here! She thought as she remembered reading about them in all those many books that she read when she stayed in Underground Town.
She then walked out with the weapons that she needed instinctevely. Part of her wondered why she was doing this but she knew that it would be better to follow her guts. She then looked up at the black glass bricks and ruby tiles placed in a way that gave the illusion of waves where they were. This gave the look of the floors above floating on those rooves, of which there were six above the ground floor.
Yet in spite that she had no reason to, she smiled as she entered. She tucked the crop of white hair behind her ear as she walked into a large open room with nothing inside. The only light came from the window and even that reached so far, however the only thing that she could see was the staircase in the center of the room. She walked in and walked to the stairs, knowing that was where she should be.
If I remember right, none made it out of this place. Looks like I'm going to be the first.
She was about to climb but the moment that she touched the bannister she saw a man appear in front of her. He was dressed in a black cloak. She took out her hand off the bannister and then drew her sword and swung it a few times in circles beside her like waving a flag knowing that this was not a man. The thing let his cloak fall as if to confirm her suspicion, revealing a figure made of darkness like it was made of shadow and glowing red eyes. He raised his hand and a sword appeared out of darkness in his hand.
She took a few steps back as it came to swing at her and their swords clashed. She put some pressure on the blade and whacked it away. She then spun in and then dug into where the heart would be. With a piercing scream it evaporated.
That was disappointing.
She then walked up the stairs up to the next room. She then spotted that the room was smaller and darker than the room below. She kept her sword up and looked around for her next fright. She soon noticed that she was being circled by something. She saw that it was large and had smoothe scales with a shine.
"Hello stranger. I see that you have passed the shadow. I thank you. Now I can finally have a proper meal rather than the mice and rats!" Said a female voice with a lisp.
She looked up to see moon coloured skin with long black hair that was so greasy that it looked like seaweed. With the green serpentine eyes.
She raised her blade up but she was too slow and she was hit in the back. She flew and did all she could to keep her hand clenched on her sword. The snake-woman opened her mouth revealing a large set of fangs and saliva mixed with her venom. She then hit the wall and she dropped her sword.
Loc pulled out a dagger and raised it above her head. However she seemed to anticipate this and used her tail to knock it off her hand. Then Loc raised her hand up and gripped her neck to keep her away. She could feel the pressure on her arm muscles as she locked it in place. Then the snake-woman gripped her hand and started to squeeze. Loc pulled out another dagger and dug it into the throat under her hand. She then pulled it out and she let the corpse slide out of her fingers.
She took a moment to catch her breath before she cleaned her blade on the hair of the snake-woman. She then collected all of her weapons and then sat on the stairs for a moment, then moved up to the next floor. She spotted the room was smaller, but at least that meant the light was able to reach further. She soon saw a small creature run to her, she raised her dagger and it clashed with a knife she then saw a glimpse of a shiny red triangular hat. From the wiff she could smell that it was blood! Already knowing what it was she kicked the small creature away from her. She heard it laugh that sounded more like clicking. She ran to it and took its head off making it fly off and out of the window.
She then moved on.
How long has that red cap been here and how's that thing still around?
She was soon in the next room, the first thing that she heard was a grunt. She then saw the sickly glowing eyes and the gagging smell of decomposition. Loc could feel her breakfast threatening to come up and out of the hole that it came in. With that she knew exactly what was in the room. She took out an axe then she saw the zombie run to her and she swung the axe into the skull into the brain. She then moved up before her breakfast came up.
Four down, three to go… she thought, trying not to scream.
She climbed further up the temple, wondering what else she would have to face. She then felt something sticky on her hand. She then looked up and to her horror she saw a woman at the top of the stairs with a dead girls' hand in her mouth and she was sucking. She then finished and she let go.
"Vampire children, just as foolish as humans." She said as she saw the dust fall beside her.
"I'm guessing that that was supposed to be my next fight?" She asked.
"Yes, however as I knew that this one would have been special...well you can forgive my impatience." She said.
"Well it did save me some time!" She sighed.
She ran to her and she, with one hand pulled her up by the neck. She closed her eyes to stop her from hypnotizing her. She then took out a dagger but she felt her hand on her wrist and closed around it. She used her other hand and pulled out another dagger and dug it into the vampires' heart. She fell and took a moment to look at herself.
Good nothing too bad… Then remembered her immortality status. Not that it matters..
She then got back to her feet and then got the ring, put it on her lace and went back to the air yot. She cleaned herself and then Ringer gave them the next destination. She woke Lenume` up and crashed in her bed.
The Third Ring
Loc was woken up by Lenume` they had arrived at the floating island of Límíng Hēilóng which translated to Dawn Dark Dragon. It had many castles, palaces and temples all in a circle where there were several villas and dorms for the dragonlords and dragonladies that were studying there. As she looked down she saw a mural of Demorset Tenebrae, who was the most evil dragon born. He was a purply black colour with blood red twisted horns like the antlers or a reindeer. He had the body of a slender western dragon and had wings that would eclipse the body.
With this Loc knew that this would not be as straightforward as the temple. She would have to think of a good stratagem this time. After all she knew that it would be more difficult to get the ring this time.
If this is what it's like collecting the silver, I don't even want to think about when I have to collect the gold! She thought as she remembered the zombie that she faced.
She knew that the moment that she left the air yot, she would have to look around before she looked for the ring, after all she wanted to avoid as many traps as she could. If there was none, then she would enter. She soon prepared her mind before she stepped outside the air yot. She walked to the castle that the mural was in front of. She circled the castle several times and took in every detail and as she was on the last circle.
"There are no traps to get in, but inside there are." Said a dragonlord.
"Thank you."
"You will be leaving soon." He said.
"Yes as soon as I have what I came for."
"That is not what I meant."
"Oh? And what did you mean?" She asked.
"You shall know when the time comes." He said as he left.
What was that all about?
She walked in and she soon saw a plain wooden door with the doorknob in the shape of a dragon head. There was a black glass plaque on it with ruby writing, as she turned to look at it she soon saw that the ruby letters had to have been formed by magic and put in there also by magic. It read,
If You Are The Intended
Then You Will Pass
If You Are Not Then
You Will Come To Me
And I Will Use You In
My Next Potion Or Spell
Locs' eyes widened in shock at that. Would that mean if she passed through this door, then she would go directly to where Grasharlos' corpse was? Now that she had just thought about it, she did not even know where she was buried! Then again she was assuming that she was buried, her body could have been burnt. She also wondered if Sharimon and Gracey knew about what happened to the corpse of Grasharlo.
Hold on, what if I go to them instead! Struck a thought. If that happened all of this would be for nothing! Even worse, I would have not only played into their hands but I would have delivered myself into their hands!
Yet either way I have to go on. I can not back down now, I just can not afford to do that!
So with that she took hold of the doorknob and as she was twisting the dragon head seemed to come alive and bit into her. Suddenly she felt a surge race through her entire body that seemed to be coming from the doorknob. It was like it was forcing her power out and there was nothing that she could do about it.
She started to scream out and the door to the temple closed. She was trapped and all she could do was this rush of torturous excitement race through her muscles. This caused all the hair on her body to stand on edge. She felt her heart start to race like a cheetah. She then felt her mind rush like she was not only fully awayle but that all the cobwebs of sleep were being pulled away and it was running at its clearest state.
That was when the trembling started, at first she thought that it was her that was trembling, but it soon became evident that everywhere else was trembling. She soon knew that this was because of her and the power that she has as a shard of Grasharlo. Yet the power continued to rise within her and soon the whole place was shaking violently.
She tried to pull herself free afraid that this power that was being forced out of her was going to destroy the whole temple, and that what then a statue of Demorset fell to confirm her fear. Yet the dragon shaped jaws remained locked in place as her knees gave way. She soon heard more and more things break and fall around her. She wondered if this was happening to all the other places around her.
Then when she could take no more, the dragon let go and the door opened.
"I was confused at first, however I now know better my mistress." Said the doorknob.
Still shaking and her muscles saw she forced herself onto her feet and took the ring and left the temple. She took a moment to regain her energy and gain control of her breathing before she lifted her head to see that everyone was looking at her.
Oh no, not here too! I just don't think that I can take another crowd at the moment!
Yet she saw that there was no anger or hate in their eyes, but, to her surprise, amazement!
"Urm?"
"Yes she is the one."
"How?"
"I do not know little one, there seems to be many things hidden but I think that they should remain hidden, for now." He said as he walked over to her and outstretched his hand. "Would you like a hand?"
She looked at the hand and then at him. Now it was her turn to be amazed.
Is this a trick? She thought.
"Why would it be?" He asked.
She then took it and he helped her to the air yot. They even waved her off!
"What is that all about?" Lenume` asked.
"I...don't...know." She said trying to work it out by herself. Needless to say that she just could not work it out.
"So where are we going?" She asked trying to push away the thoughts.
"Xue Sa Xi."
The Fourth Ring
Loc was woken up an hour after she was able to finally get to sleep. She looked at Lenume`, who, unlike her, was not showing signs of tiredness whatsoever.
"Hey how come you're not-"
"Showing any signs of tiredness?"
"Yeah."
"Elves do not need as much sleep as humans do." She said.
She nodded. She looked at the lilac sky and noticed that it was getting darker. Soon night would be upon them. She soon got to the bathroom and took a quick wash which refreshed her up a bit. Her mind was slightly foggy but then she remembered that she remembered reading that there was an abundance of Dark Dragon worship here.
I don't think that I would like to stay here long. I'd stir up far too much controversy here. Either way, I hope that I don't have to deal with too much of it here. She thought as she changed into another set of clothes and left the air yot.
She mentally prepared herself for what was to come as she continued on. She then found herself on the path that she was meant to go on. Yet as she came closer she saw a crowd and, to her surprise, they were cheering. They clapped as they saw her and as she looked at them she noticed their crimson and black robes and knew what they were and why they were cheering and clapping.
She, knowing that they would hinder her rather than help her, glared coldly at them. Giving them the get out of here look. After all she wanted nothing to do with them. Seeing this their eyes widened and they flew away. She waited until she was absolutely sure that they were gone and that they were not coming back before she walked on.
She came to what looked like the type of pyramid that she stayed in, but this was somehow different. She just could not put her finger on what but she knew that there was something different. However she soon saw that this one had a more Japanese look about it.
She looked up and saw the ring at the top, dangling from a chain. She then looked at the large bricks that were so smooth that there was nothing that she could hold on to in order to climb it. She then looked at the dark void where the entrance was. She then walked in, as she saw that there was nothing else that she could see that would help. She soon found that she was in the top chamber, where the ring was, only to find that it was dangling down from the roof and there was no way to get it.
She frowned and signed. It seemed ironic, to have three down and only one to go and yet it was here of all places that she got stuck on. She just did not know what was worse, the fact that she knew that she could not get it or that she knew that there was, somehow a way to get it. There must be! But how?
Well the answer must be in this room somewhere, I must need to find it! She thought as she circled the room. She skimmed it at first, but after a few times she started to look closer at it, slowly and carefully. Her gut told her that this must be the way to do it, she just had to look hard enough. Soon her gut feeling rewarded her, for she saw something odd about the second brick up and the second brick next to the entrance.
She pushed it only gently and the brick sank into the wall! The brick underneath shot out in front of her, now she knew what she was doing. She set foot on it and then she looked beside here at both bricks and soon found the one that she was to press in. She stepped onto the next step. She was soon in front of the ring, yet she soon saw the next problem, the ring was still out of reach! Yet she closed her eyes.
There has to be a way to get to it! I know that this must be the way, I'm just missing something! She thought but then she felt a tremor underneath her feet and saw that the steps were receding! With her eyes locked on the ring, she knew that there was only one way forward. She somehow knew that she had only one shot, so she jumped knowing that if she missed she would have to feel what it would feel like to survive a fatal fall like. Which, she knew must be worse than dying. She outstretched her arms and her hands collided with the ring and she gripped it.
She, to her dismay, felt the chain fall at a fast rate. Had she been wrong? Had this been all a big trap? Just as she thought about letting go and rolling onto the ground the chain slowed and she just stood there, shaking out of both fear and shock. She then found herself laughing as her hand still clutched the chain for support. She did not know why, but she did. Was it because she had enjoyed that, or was it that she was relieved that her feet were on the ground? Either way, she did not know why she was laughing or what she was laughing at, all she knew was that she was laughing.
She had to wait until she became composed before she walked out of the bizarre pyramid she then slipped the ring around her neck and walked on. She soon came to the air yot, she was glass that those Dark Dragon worshippers were not back for she did not want them to see her like this. She was about to wake Lenume` and then crash but she was already awake. She saw Ringer's face on what looked like a strange picture.
"Loc! Good! Tell me, are you alright, you look a bit pale?"
"Yeah, now that I have my feet on the ground. How're you boss?" She asked.
"Not too good, just had an attack from a spy of Grasharlos'. Do not worry it is to be expected." He replied honestly.
"Sir, what do you mean by that?" She asked.
"Isn't it obvious, my choice to hire you had sparked far too much interest. After all, we both know why."
She nodded.
"Now, the next place you are to go to is Cenyoulonjinn. I think that it is going to be a tough one, so get your rest. Then, once you have that last silver get immoderately on the gold. We will be getting things on here, and should there be anything else after that, get on that too. I think that I may be finding myself joining you later anyway. And I order you, regardless of how much you are tempted to, do not come back until all of this is all over. After all, we both know that I can not afford to lose you." He ordered.
Understanding this she nodded and saluted him.
"Sir, yes sir! Just be careful will you?" She said.
He looked at her shocked but then nodded.
"Thank you for your concern. That will be all." He said as the picture went blank.
"How?"
"The screen, here, this'll tell you what you need to know." Lenume` said, giving her a book.
"I'll read it after I've had a good night's sleep." She said as she crashed on her bed and closed her eyes. It had been a long day.
The Final Silver Ring
It was early in the morning when they both got up and, even though they both felt tired and sleepy, they knew that they had to get their heads in the game as soon as they could. They knew that they had to get to Cenyoulonjinn before nightfall, after all both had heard strange rumours about that place. After all, most who go there either never come back or come back with nothing but evil in their hearts. Loc felt concerned that this was the last place that they were to go to before they went to find the gold rings.
So they had a cold shower to wake them up and eat a quick, but filling breakfast. It was in this moment, that Loc realized that this was the first thing that she had eaten since breakfast the previous day! This led her to the conclusion that they ought to have thought of lunch and dinner breaks when they thought about sleeping arrangements! She rolled her eyes and bowed her head in embarrassment at this realization.
After breakfast they set off. She saw that the place was big! As in she could see that she could fit every pave that she had been in into that pace at least thrice over! She saw that there was a small town going all around the outskirts of the place like a wall. She soon saw other buildings, she at first thought that it was another town, however as she took a close look she saw that they were all abandoned, and they had been for at least over a century or two.
Then she saw the turns of the temple that was dedicated to Demorset and his army. It was built by human slaves that the evil dragon and his army had captured, only a handful of people survived the building, the rest died building it. Then after the last dragon war came to a close the emperor at the time, Emperor Lang Fang the second three centuries ago. She had remembered reading that this used to be one of the most beautiful temples in this land. Part of her wished that she could have seen that.
Yet she smiled as she did, after all the sight of this place gave her a strange reassurance that good will always conquer evil no matter how long it took. Then she realised that it was the sought of this place that was the visual proof of that.
They landed on the most flattest arid that they could find. It was all too clear that they were the only ones here, which gave Loc a sense of relief. After all, the less people that she would have to deal with the better. She did not want more detractions for she wanted to get all of this over and done as soon as she could. After all, she was itching to get to the gold rings and find out the truth.
She then collected what her gut told her that she would be needing and then she was in front of the door. The for opened and the moment she stepped on the ground she could feel the evil presence of the place sinking deep within her. She felt sorrow and anger and loneliness spread around her like the venom of a snake.
Go to your sisters. Came an evil voice inside her head. They are the key to your joy. Let them wake up your old self. Let it happen because you know deep down that you will feel happy. Happier than you have been in a long time.
Then her eyes moved to the air yot that she had just gotten out of. She felt a stage feeling rush over her that numbed the mind and put her in a trance.
Go, take your first step! Use your power, crush it! Kill that old life, kill it dead. You have no use for it! Go on, do it!
She then felt a strange fire run throughout her.
"'Crush it'? Science you foolish and evil whispers, in the name of the Great Being!" She shouted instinctively even though she had no idea what she was doing.
The Great Being, who's that? She wondered as she set food on the ruins. She heard something scuttle around and then her eyes met a pair of glowing red eyes. So am I to fight him now?
She walked over to him as she wanted to get this over and done with. She soon found that she was looking at a man dressed in nothing but black silk and she could see that there was a face of someone who looked like they had been crushed a long time ago, and must wished his suffering to end. Yet there was something off about his face, it was thin and green, like his head had no blood vowing in it for over two decades! His lips were blue and, as she could look closer to those eyes she saw that they were puffed out and the white of the eyes were yellow and a grim shave of green. She could also smell that this man was some sort of corpse.
So this is what a wraith looks like. She thought as she drew her sword. Yeah... Grasharlo liked to punish those who had angered her by turning them into wraiths… Poor bloke….
She swung her sword and her blade collided with his knife. She saw that his eyes, though sad, were unfazed by what was going on, his body was moving the way that Grasharlo had ordered it to and there was nothing that the poor soul inside could do to stop it. So all she could do was do what she could to punt this poor guy out of his misery. So she swung the blade out of her way and then went in for the kill, but then the wraith kicked her in the stomach and sliced her abdomen, but fortunately it was shallow so all her body needed to do was heal that small cut. She then flipped back and hit him in the jaw causing a slight tear in his skin and out of it flowed a small trickle of yellow blood.
Wait, blood can be yellow? She thought, feeling slightly confused.
The wraith used this to strike down, quickly she blocked the chop and then kicked him off her. She used this to propel herself into the air and then swung her sword and then the guts dropped out, yet she knew that that was not going to kill the wraith. So she swung to the left, it blocked, she swung to the right, it blocked. She swung again and again but every time the wraith blocked her sword. This called for another tacktick. She kicked at it and she saw the blade come down. Quickly, she pulled her foot away but it was able to cut her shin as it circled and it sliced her calves. So she put her foot down. She swung her sword and when the wraith blocked it she drove herself in and punched him. He flew, but then she noticed it, the fire around her fist!
This must be the power of the Sunburners! She realised as she could feel that it was not burning her like that other fire did.
She looked up at the wraith.
"Sorry for what I'm about to do." She said as she willed the fire over to where the wraith was and he was a pile of ashes before she knew it.
She looked around, suddenly not wanting to be here but knowing that this was the only way forward. She just could not afford to fail in her mission now. She soon spotted that there was a gap behind a statue of Demorset. She knew that that was where she was to go. So she climbed onto it and used all her body weight to push it out of the way. She fell to see a gaping burnt wooden door and wall.
Looks like there must have been a dragon fight here. She thought as she walked in. She saw a dark spiralling staircase without any bannister. It looked spooky and the fact that the only light was coming from her hand did little to help. Seeing that this was the only way she descended down the stairs. It suddenly curved out and the stairs became wider. Then the curve stopped and she was going down a straight staircase and ended. She was now walking down a corridor that was so silent that her footsteps echoed. She walked past several doors, she knew that none of them were the door that she was looking for.
It's that one! She heard a voice say as she started to walk carefully not letting her guard down for one second. She walked up to the plain black door, which was smaller than the rest. She, at first, checked for traps, but seeing none she pressed against the door. She felt a pressure against her hand and she looked up to see why, the top of the door was stuck. So she turned around and pressed her back against it. She soon was feeling it move and a small breeze whistled past her. She soon had the door open and she was in the room.
She spotted that there was a group of flat mushrooms that were hollering purple around the desk. She looked around the room to see that there was far too much light for the mushrooms to be the only source of light. So she looked around and saw a small ball of purple light almost looked like the sun that she 'gave birth' to. She could even feel the heat, yet she knew that she would have to get closer.
She walked up to it and as she did she felt the heat become hotter and hotter. Soon she found it to be unbearable. She had to grit her teeth and get closer and closer. She raised her hand to see that her fingers were blistering and she knew that the rest of her body was like that. She soon saw the boils and then had to endure the painful pop as she got closer and closer. Then she spotted that the bone of her fingers became exposed. It took all of her willpower to reach out and force the bones of her hand into the light. Then the room became a dark purple and the silver ring war now on her regenerating finger.
She collapsed and she was sweating so bad it was like she had swam in some pool. She took a moment to catch her breath until she heard the hissing. She looked around to see king cobras coming down from the walls, feeling exhausted she let all her fire at them. She then looked down at the desk to see two books on it.
Wonder what they're all about?
She got up, her mind just longing for some sleep. She looked at then and her mind became suddenly sharper than a freshly made knife. She just could not believe it! She felt herself shaking as she touched the books.
What? What are these doing here!? I-I can't believe it!
She looked at the titles for on one it wrote,
The Last Jonny Of
Bounty Hunter Bash Drew
By The Chronicler
And on the other,
The Truth Of Arielsa Zuve`
By The Chronicler
She, with a trembling hand picked them up.
What are the lost books of the Sixth Age Of Legends doing here!?
She then flicked throughout the pages, just to make sure that what she was holding was real. Seeing the writing she knew that it was! She, knowing that they would be valuable, took them and she, despite her tiredness and pain, ran as fast as she could. She was in the air yot before she knew it.
"What is that?" Asked Lenume`.
"Here, have a look!" She said beaming.
She did and started flicking through the pages.
"Is-is this for real?" She asked, breathless.
"As far as I can tell, yes."
"Then, then we should tell Ringer about this!"
"You can! I need a wash and some sleep. Then, first thing, we're going to look at that book and then the gold rings!" She said with a smile.
