The Sorrowful Rebel Chapter Six Revelation Of The Rebel

A Companion For A Mission

Loc woke up slightly later than usual as she had been up reading late into the night. That night she had finally finished the library after a month of missions and breaks. Yet, despite waking up naturally and a good cold shower, her mind was still tired from the day before, however there was another part of her mind that was ready for what the day had to offer.

Then another part did not. In fact that part of her mind felt an irrational dread that she had never felt before. It overhung her like as if death himself was covering her with his scythe at her throat. Almost like part of her knew that this day was not going to do any good, almost like it had a plague of death. Not wanting to entertain these irrational thoughts, she buried this feeling to go about the day. She thought that there was no need to entertain irrational feelings, not what she had a job to do.

It had been a week and a half since her team's last mission and she was itching for another. She had to steady this itch and keep calm. She had long since learnt her lesson by now. All she wanted to do was lesson that itch, which she did by reading as much as she could. Yet it was the day before that day that she had finished the last book of the library. This caused her to have another thing to contend with, her thirst for some more books to read and to obtain more knowledge of this world. Yet even this itch would become unbearable tame.

She knew that she must pick up something to keep herself busy during her free time outside of missions. After all, as she knew that as she had finished the books in the library she would find herself getting really bored really quickly.

She noticed that Distant Battle and Life were getting closer and she was quite certain that any day now they would announce something. To Break and To Open were getting the same way too. Yet even though she was happy for them all, she could not help but feel a little bit jealous. She had tried to catch Wolf Raven's attention but this, she knew, was not going anywhere. So she gave up.

So all she could do now was take a shower and then eat her breakfast. After she cleaned her teeth, which had become purely white. She put on her usual gear then walked to Light Bringer's office. She knew that she would have to ask for a mission, any mission that would be enough to satisfy the itch. To her surprise when she saw him, he looked at her with a smile.

"Loc! Just the one that I wanted to see!" He called.

"Sir."

"Here, take a seat."

"Thank your sir."

She soon walked into the room and took a sheat as she noticed that Wolf Raven was sitting on the left. She looked aside, trying not to reveal her upset. He looked at her, slightly apologetically.

"I have a mission for your team and my right hand man, Wolf Raven over here."

"What? But he's your second in command. And remember what-"

"I know the patterns of previous rebels from other worlds and their teams, but he will accompany you this time. But don't worry, the same thing won't happen this time."

"Sir." She said, still keeping what she read fresh in her mind.

"I know, but none of us can afford to hide, and not to waste everything just to be on the safe side. Not when we are at this stage."

She nodded knowing that he was right.

"Also this is one of those missions that only I can help you with."

She nodded again, but slowly.

"Alright and what's the mission?"

"To finally uncover the identity of the Evil Emperor!"

Her eyes widened with ambition and a smile spread across her lips. She knew that she had been waiting for this as all emotion was drowned out with nothing but excitement remaining. She could not describe just how ready she was for this. She knew that she wanted this, however the feeling of dread showed up slightly, yet she was far too extaic to pay any attention to this.

"Alright. Then I will get my team and prepare. Wolf Raven, are you ready?"

"Yes."

The two soon gathered her team together and came up with their plan. By the time it was lunch time they were ready. So, once they had collected their lunch Loc spent time enjoying her time with her team. Yet they soon took their coats on as it was cold outside. To her interest she noticed that even the snow of this world was red. Yet it was still just as cold.

They all took a moment to check that they had all they needed before they climbed in the minibus and they drove off. Yet that feeling that Loc had not only returned but became worse than ever. Somehow it felt like they were all going to the executioners after their sentences have been handed out.

Down The Sewers

They drove in silence to the sewage gate, where Life parked.

"Life, have you and the rest still got your powers?" Asked Wolf Raven.

"No. None of us do."

"Then I think that you should come with us this time. After all, we're going to need all the help you can get in this mission."

"Why?"

Wolf Raven looked at Loc for a moment. Then looked away as he looked slightly guilty and brooding. His jaw was clenched as the corned of his mouth tensed up.

"This isn't a normal mission. Is it?"

He shook his head.

"No. But I will tell you all about it in time."

"Alright!"

"Why can't you tell us now?"

"I don't want to scare you. That's all!"

"Oh, right."

They wanted to get to the point so they quickly collected their rucksacks and guns. They all double checked that they all had everything. Then ran to the gate. To Open was already typing away. Loc looked at her actions. She had recently been taught in secret how to get in, just in case To Open could not join them on their missions, for whatever reason. That way they would have someone to be able to do her job.

She soon hacked into the gate and had it open and they walked in. They came to two tunnels one leading to the left and the other two the right. To Break pulled out a map and they looked at it. They soon spotted where they needed to go. So they walked to the left.

"So, how did you get into the rebellion?" Loc asked as she just wanted to talk to him.

"Well me and Light Bringer had a friend. She was a lot like you and Life here combined. We loved our time together and we would have been like that forever. It was a simple and happy time, despite the fact that we were able to make and barely able to eat one meal one day. In fact one of our friend, that despite how hard he worked he was barely able to bring in anything! So we were rarely able to eat. After a while she was able to bring us more than we had ever seen in our lives! We ate it all and gave some to our other friends. It was that much. Yet it became soon clear as to why. You see, she was a hacker and she had hacked into the Empire and found something. To this day we never knew what but whatever it was, was enough to get her shot. Then we were captured. We soon found out many things, like the Empire takes everyone's children away from them at an early age to ensure that rebellion becomes uncomfortable. Any parent that resists gets shot along with all their children. Or higher-ups take whoever takes their fancy and forces them into prostitution, any resistance is met with their parents being shot. Some are taken to be tortured, experimented on and killed."

"What?!"

As if they couldn't get any more messed up! Seriously! How can people even live in this world like that?!

That was when they heard a rumble and the sound of a stone moving. They all remained silent as they looked on. Thair guns in front.

The first thing that they saw was the glowing red eyes. Then the black fur and the leathery hands with long black claws. Then the long thin legs.

Whatever it was raced to them. They, not knowing what it was, fired at it but they all missed. Loc then ran to it. She shot at it but her bullets did not do anything. Then its jaws opened revealing long and thin teeth anvit clamped onto her shoulder. She had to bite her lip to stop herself from crying out. She pulled out a dagger and I to the thing then it pulled away, yet it looked at her licking its lips. It then ran at her and let out a hiss. It went to fling a hand at her and she stabbed it in the palm. She then pulled out the dagger and pulled out a gun. Then fired at it in the mouth and it fell.

"What was that?"

"That is another fate of someone who resists. They are taken and given to be experimented on. You remember Father Of Knowledge? He was one of the worst who made those types of creatures. Yet during these times they are driven completely insane and their minds turned feral and soon turned into a creature like that. It is said the process is irreversible and the only thing that you could do for them is to put them out of their misery."

Loc nodded, feeling slightly nauseous as she remembered the events of her home world.

I wonder if Grasharlo did anything like this? Probably. After all, she was the most evil dark lady and witch and she was the daughter of Dark Master Lord Gajellidor Darcrogh, after all! By the Demon Realm, I think that she would have liked it here! Maybe she would have her perfect man here!

"What?" Asked Wolf Raven.

"Doesn't matter."

They then walked on. They had decided to keep the chit chat to a bare whisper. Loc wondered if there were any more of those creatures down here. If there were, then how many? How many were dumped and forgotten down here? A monster that barely knew what they were. Maybe day after day, driven mad and forgetting who or what they were.

They walked on and on. There was hardly anything in the way. Then they turned another corner to the left as  they tried to ignore the grim odore. Then to the right. Then they came to a crossroads with nothing but sung and urine and vomit on the ground. They looked at the map and knew where they were to go next. They had to jump to miss the pool of sewage water in between. They walked on during the whole time they had to do all they could to ignore the grim smell.

They hid just when they reached the exit point when they saw a pair of yellow eyes ahead of them. It looked almost identical to the creature that she had taken down, except it had crimson claws. It looked at th for a moment before letting out a loud roar and charged at them.

Remembering what Wolf Raven had said, she ran at it. Loc pulled out a dagger as it swung at her. She soon was able to stab it. She went to pull out her gun but it swung the other claw to her. She had to duck. She went onto put the gun out again but then she saw the foot swinging down upon her. She then pulled out another dagger and stabbed it in the foot. Then she went to pull out her gun again. But again she was stopped. But then a series of bullets hit the creature's head and it fell down.

To Open ran to the door and was soon hacking into the doors and opened the door. Soon they were able to get to the ground floor.

Up The Levels

Loc was the first to get to the top. She quickly looked through the window. She counted twenty guards to the right and forty on the left. She noticed that there were at least ten moving around. She then ducked and looked around. Then looked at her team and soon signed to them how many guards there were. They all nodded as Life and Distant Battle kept an eye on the dark tunnel that they all came up. To Open was already getting into the door. Meanwhile, To Break and Wolf Raven looked ahead and raised their guns.

Loc looked back through the window as she picked up some firecrys shards and once the door opened she lit and threw them. She then sent tiny flames all around. This gave her the distraction that they needed. So they ran forward and hit all that had been blinded. She soon spotted that they were opening their eyes. She fired before they even had the chance to raise their guns to them.

Then she felt the first bullet in her stomach.

"Cover!"

They soon dove behind some filing cabinets and the frames of doors on the left and right. They noticed the first set of bullets fired before they even turned and fired once more. The Loc ran on and fired at two more taking our twenty. This gave her team the opportunity to move forward. Which they took and as they did they all fired at two, killing ten. Then quickly dived to another hiding spot just in time as another row of bullets flew at them.

Loc pushed past the itching as she pulled out another firecrys and lit it before throwing it. When it was close to the group she shot at it. Causing an explosion of flames to dart at them. They ran down and fired at almost all of them before they were able to open their eyes. She dived and hid as the bullets ran before they fired, taking out the rest.

They then raced to the door and To Open soon had it opened. They all raced up a set of stairs. They then turned and ran up another flight of stairs. They then came to the next door. To Open soon hacked into it and had it opened. Loc looked in and up before they set off. She was soon able to count fifty on the right and left!

"How much?"

"One hundred in total. Fifty on the right and fifty on the left."

"Right."

Then Loc opened the rest of the door. She lit some firecrys and threw them. She shot at them. All her team and Wolf Raven fired at as many on the left and right as they could. Taking out twelve, they soon noticed that they were about to recover. Loc took out a firecrys and she shot at it before they could do anything. Then they repeated the action as they ran on. This took out twelve more.

Then, when they saw the first of them coming to their senses, they dived to the doors. They soon were able to hide from all of the bullets. Loc then lit a firecrys and threw it. Then she shot at it. She then looked back to see that they were still firing with their eyes closed. She then waited there until she noticed that the bullets were blowing chunks out of the walls. She could tell that it was only a matter of time until they had no shelter.

So she threw another lit firecrys. She then waited for the explosion. Then once it happened she ran on and took advantage of their shock to fire at on and yet was able to take out him and the one behind him. Then the others were able to do the same as her both on the left and right. This took out a total of eight. Then they showed signs of recovery.

They then dived to the nearest door. There they waited for the next set of bullets. When they came Loc took out another firecrys and one hit. She then stayed where she was and fired at her to her right. The others did the same. Ensuring to take out two at a time. This took out twelve. They then ran on and fired to the left. Taking our twelve then they took out twelve on the right and did this again and again until they were all dead and reached the door.

Then To Open was soon hacked into the next door. She barely spent two minutes before it opened. They then ran in and up the next set of stairs. Soon they reached the next door. Loc looked in through the window and was able to count one hundred and fifty, with seventy five on each end. She soon told the rest.

They then ducked as To Open was already on the door. Loc had noticed that she was getting faster at opening the doors. She knew that she ought to not only practise the skill but also get to the point that she could do it as fast as To Open. She then had the door open. She lit the firecrys and threw them as she fired at twelve on the left and right. Then her team aimed and shot at two at a time making sure to take out forty eight in total before the rest came to their senses and fired. They hid behind the door yet To Break was far too late and was hit in the shoulder. Out of sheer spite, hit the one that hit him.

Then they waited for the row of bullets. She then quickly lit another firecrys and thew it as fast as she could. Then, once it became close to the centre of the guards, she shot it and it soon exploded. Yet they still fired at them. She used their blindness to her advantage and fired at the ones that were all closest and the others did the same. To Break had a harder time doing this, yet he was able to take down two at a time. They were able to take out forty eight more. Loc then fired the three that were only injured.

She then reloaded her gun and threw another lit firecrys and it soon exploded. She ran on and fired at the left and then the right, taking out two at a time. Her team followed her lead. Then Wolf Raven took out the remaining two. They soon came to the last door. To Open frowned.

"What is it?"

"This building, this is not a factory."

"Then what is it?"

"The castle of the Evil Emperor himself and we are about to go to the throne room."

Loc looked at Wolf Raven shocked and concerned, now it made sense. Now, after all that she had read in the library, she knew why he was so hesitant on explaining the mission. Yet she could not help but remember that this was the point that the rebels would be killed and the rebellion would fall. Yet, even though Light Bringer and Wolf Raven may think that she was ready for this, she was not so sure.

"So, we really are about to take him down?"

"Yes."

"Well, then let's do it!" Loc said, realising that it was far too late for her team to turn back now.

To Open worked on the door  soon had it opened.

The Evil Emperor

They soon walked into the throne room. They looked at the high walls with high and thin green and orange windows with a point at the top. Almost like a long cathedral that had the appearance of being narrower than it was. Loc was soon reminded of the castles and the throne rooms in them of her home world. There was a long and thin black carpet in the centre with silver lining.

She did not like the feeling of nostalgia and homesickness that it brought. Then the sudden and irrational feeling of dread had returned. She could feel death with them in that room. She felt his hands running around the room, knowing that it was about to dine

That was when their eyes rested upon the maroon chair ahead. It looked like it was made of cristal with the back going so high that it seemed to stop at the top of the room. However it was completely empty. In fact the black cushioning on the seat had a layer of dust on them and spider webs coating the legs.

Loc frowned as they looked at the empty throne.

The Evil Emperor is not here? Then why were there so many guards positioned outside? Is he taking a loo break? No, somehow I don't think that to be likely.

"Where's the Evil Emperor?" Life asked.

That was when To Open collapsed. Her eyes closed and her body was limp. They dived to her. To Break shot at her and took her head in his hand and placed a hand on her. Her skin was still warm but it was getting colder and colder  Then Life took her pulse. Her eyes widened as she started to shake.

"Dead." She said. "I'm sorry."

Loc looked at her corpse with her thoughts racing all over the place as she tried to figure out what was going on. However, she could not help but feel that death was still in this room, his work still not done. Yet she had to push past this feeling as she desperately tried to grasp a coherent thought.

"How? What-" He asked.

His head became fuzzy and soon he became tired. He blinked several times. His heart pounded in his ears. As he felt To Open become colder and colder, his heartbeat became slower and slower and slower. Knowing that this was the doing of someone in the room, he looked around to find out who was doing this. His eyes darted up to Wolf Raven as his vision became blurry. He saw his smile as he looked at him. His hand on his leg.

What? Why? Why…why…wh…y…wh…wh…

He, knowing that he was about to die raised his hand and, weakly, raised his finger to him before his mind became too foggy and faint and he collapsed. Loc noticed this and took his pulse to see that he was dead too! She then followed his finger to Wolf Raven. To her shock, he was smiling. It was a wide smile and filled with malice. Yet Loc could see that he had victory in his eyes.

"Wolf Raven…what?"

His smile widened.

"Oh, I love this part!" He said before he chuckled. "Honestly, Loc, I never thought that look on your face would look so utterly adorable!"

Loc suddenly felt panic and alarm flood her body.

"Explain yourself!" Distant Battle demanded as he grabbed him by his cuff and pulled him in close.

He then let out a laugh as he looked at him like he was an adorable puppy.

"Oh, I so love this part. You see, I love stories. I really love stories. Do you want to know my favourite?"

"No, but I'm guessing that you're going to tell us anyway."

He raised his eyebrow as he dug his foot into his gut p, then dived to Life that was backing away, completely trembling all over. Soon he grabbed her throat and she looked weakened. Then she looked weaker and weaker and weaker. Then instantly, Distant Battle opened fire on him. Quickly his grip on Life's throat increased and pulled her in front of him. Then blood fell from her body.

"No! Life!"

"I love tragedies and ones where rebellions rise higher and higher then they are about to finish me off once and for all. Only to fail again and again. Oh, how that is one of the best! Honestly, that never seems to get old regardless of how many times I do this!"

"What do-"

Then Loc got it.

"You're the Evil Emperor!"

He then let out a laugh as he clapped and clapped and clapped.

Now it makes sense! The reason why his appearance was never put down, the reason why all the others from those different worlds ended up dead and the rebellions failed shortly after. All of it! Why didn't I figure it out before now? No, I should have seen it earlier! I should have seen the pattern and figured it out by that! Oh I am such a foolish girl.

"Indeed I am! And Light Bringer is my second in command." He chuckled. "Isn't it genius? I get to be as tyrannical as I can, causing all the people to suffer. For those that are my obedient little puppets, they will do all I command regardless of how much they suffer. Meanwhile, for those with stronger spirit, well I knew that they would rebel sooner or later, so by keeping people in the dark about how I looked, I was able to become the rebel leader. Then after hearing that silly little prophecy by that person from another world, stating that my life and reign will come to an end by someone from another world, I knew I had my seed of hope that I could eventually crush along with the one destined to challenge me. Such as yourself."

"Die!" Distant Battle shouted as he ran to him.

"Don't!"

It was too late. He soon dived at him. He gripped the back of his neck and gripped his wrist with the other hand. He pulled and pulled. He dived back but that did nothing. He tried to pull himself free as he felt his energy being drained. It did not take long for his struggles to stop. Even less until he fell down. Wolf Raven crouched as he forced his face into the ground. He moved to To Open.

He stopped moving as his eyes were fading away with them pointing at To Open looking at her lying there dead. He tried to get up and yet he could not. Loc raised her gun and tried to fire at him but he dived out of the way. But Distant Battle stayed where he was. She ran to him as he tried to get up, but his eyes were glazed over. Then she tried to fire again at Wolf Raven, but he reached her and kicked her right into the throne.

"Patience my dear!" He sang. "It'll be your turn next!"

Distant Battle was able to get up, his face was pale as the light was getting dimmer and dimmer. He stumbled over to him only to fall down. She ran over to him and set a firecrys alight. She then threw it at him. He flicked it away like it was a fly. He then looked at her.

"You know, of all the others that came here, my dear, you are the one that showed the most promise."

She reached him and threw a punch at him and he caught it. She soon felt slightly weak as she heard her heartbeat in her ears. Then she felt its beat start to decrease. Knowing what was going on she threw a kick at him with her left leg. He caught it. She jumped up and kicked him in the ribs. He let go. She took out another firecrys shards and lit it and had to ignore the pain as she drove it into his stomach. He drove his clamped hands down onto her head.

She fell down. She felt her heartbeat become slower and slower. Feeling desperate she hit him in the shin and he fell on her. He then pressed her down and gripped both of her arms. Her heartbeat became slower and slower. She breathed in and out as fast as she could to get her heartbeat to increase but this was only in vain. She felt the fatigue set in. Her vision became blurry. Soon all went black. Her heartbeat stopped. Wolf Raven then let go.

He then checked her pulse and smiled. He felt nothing. He chuckled and was about to pull his fingers off her neck when he felt her pulse again. He kept it there to check if it was not his fingers were not playing tricks on him, but no her pulse really did stop and then start back up again. He took out a gun and hit the back of her head.

"Looks like you really are immortal!" He said, licking his lips. "I am going to enjoy making a feast out of you!"

Survivor

Loc woke up, her eyes were sticky and sore. She soon looked around to see that she was in a black room. No, it only appeared black. She felt a pain in her chest. She also felt herself hanging. She moved slowly to the right. She squinted slightly and only just spotted that there was a single windowless door there as the only source of light being the thin line where the gap was. She tried to stand but her feet could not even touch the floor. She looked down to see that she could not even see the floor! She looked to the left and right to see that her wrists were bound to the wall by chains made of a dimly glowing crimson metal.

She then heard the soft hiss of a large body of water coming from beneath her where she felt the ice cold wind coming from beneath her. Which would have been soothing if her arms and face weren't so sore. She looked down, as her eyes adjusted, to see that there was a body of water below her. In front of her was a gridded floor. Where she could see the water far underneath. She could guess that the distance between this place and the ocean was several houses high.

She then suddenly felt hungry. This told her that it was in the afternoon. She could also notice that she felt tired which meant that it was some time in the light. She looked for more clues around her as to where she was. She could feel the heat coming at her. She looked down to see that below and noticed that was the way out. Although she thought about it and knew that it would be a long fall, a fall that would normally kill her or cause her a great deal of damage. She closed her eyes and could hear the low hissing sound, like a snake, yet it was too soft to be one. Unless the snakes of this world hissed like that.

So this must be a base in the middle of the water. After all, I know that if it was shallower water the one to fall would still have a chance to escape. Yet if it was deep, like in the middle of the ocean, then anyone here would not have even a chance of survival.

Well, when you're immortal like me that would be of no consequence.

Then she thought about her team and their deaths replayed in full over and over in her head. She felt the pain in her chest increased. She could feel the tears falling. She sniffed as the tears released. She tried to stop herself from crying but she could not. She just could not, regardless of what she did.

Her eyes dropped to the water as to distract herself she focused upon trying to figure out how to get out of this place. Yet as she looked back to the cuffs and then back to the ocean below. So she knew that was going to be the way out. Now, all that remained was how to get free of the cuffs. She knew that she could not just pull in. After all, she could feel that her muscles were too weak and shaky for that.

She then heard voices coming from the door. She looked at the door as they became louder and louder. She quickly rubbed her cheeks as she knew that she would have to prepare herself for what was to come. She looked over to the door as the steps stopped in front of it. Then the door opened. Her eyes met the red glowing eyes of Wolf Raven.

He looked at her as if his day had just been brightened with a bright and cheery smile to go along with it.

"Ahh! You're awake, good!"

"What do you want?"

"My energy meal! After all, by now you should know that I feast upon the life force of others. It's how I've been able to live longer than normal men of this world." He said as he walked close to her and licked his lips and grabbed her jaw.

"And as you're immortal, it makes you quite the feast!" He said, shaking her head and pulling her in closer to him.

"Anything else? After all, I am getting bored."

"Oh yeah!" He said almost as if she had reminded him of something.

He then pulled out a pendant and showed it to her.

"Do you know what this is?"

"I would do, if you turned on the lights." She retorted sarcastically.

Suddenly the room flooded with red light. She looked up and suddenly she saw the black shard. Suddenly her mind flicked over all the books that she had read. Then it hit her. She had to blink several times to check to see if her eyes were not playing tricks upon her. She may have never seen it before but she knew instantly what this was. Part of her could not believe it, but the other part of her felt like she should have expected this.

"That's a piece of the Reality Sphere!" She exclaimed.

This confirmed all his words. His eyes widened.

"Yes, yes it is. This is the one that the one known as Reho broke to break the soul of a witch and sealed them away in a set of triplets. You know, he too showed a great deal of promise too. Although too bad that young man was dead set on defeating that witch. I would've liked to have a great deal of fun with him, but no! He had to be a one track mind!"

"How would you know that?"

He took a step closer to her and soon he was close enough to kiss her.

"I was able to use old powers to learn of its history, including the fact that it even travelled back in time before it came to this world." He said as he put it around her neck.

"And why are you giving me this? Are you trying to give me a way out?"

He chuckled as he looked like she was an adorable animal.

"Just the opposite, my dear. After all, I did tell you didn't I? I'm going to make a feast out of you. See, in order to activate a shard and move onto the next world, a certain condition must be met."

"And that is?"

He smiled as he placed his hand on her chest.

"As if I'm going to tell you!"

Then she started to feel weaker and weaker. She could hear her heartbeat in her ears. Then she heard it becoming slower and slower. Her vision blurred and her eyelids dropped. She could feel herself slipping away again and she dropped into unconsciousness.

He left her once he had had his feast. When she woke up a woman fed her a cube tasting like vinegar and mushrooms and cheese that was far too strong. This, she knew, would only keep her going but not enough to give her any real strength.

Yet when she left, she flipped her legs back and on the wall. She started to pull and pull and pull. She pulled until her wrists bled and she could pull no more. Then she felt her body drop and pain entered her arms and shoulders as she hung there. By that time she had to sleep. She was soon woken up and was fed again.

Then Wolf Raven came back to her.

"I hope that you had a good sleep."

"How can I?"

He chuckled.

"You know I might as well tell you." He said, stroking her. "But you won't like it!"

"What?" She moaned.

"You have to kill me, after all, I am this world's evil stronghold."

"And what has that got to do with anything?"

He chuckled and soon he fed upon her again. She woke up and she fed upon her again before he left. At night she pulled and pulled and pulled. This caused her wrists to bleed yet she pushed herself further and further on. This she did say in, day out. Over and over and over, she tried to count the days but that became impossible as they blurred together. She did this again and again and again. Then the chains finally broke.

She fell into the gridded floor. Then the one that fed her came in. She dived at her and hit her as hard as she could against the wall. She took her keys and freed her wrists from the cuffs. She then tightened the pendant around her neck. She walked to the hole, keeping hold of the chains to make up for her lost weight. She closed her eyes, not even wanting to allow to think, she jumped. She fell into the darkness below. Then landed with a splash into the water below.

The Sorrowful Rebel Chapter Nine Victory Of The Rebel

Escape  Loc was utterly broken. She had nothing, she was nothing, she meant nothing. All she was was a shell with nothing in her mind but ...
