A Reunion With Lamia
Loc whole up so early on in the morning that the sun was still yet to rise. She yawned as she took a wash. She woke up Lenume` and started to get her breakfast. When they had their breakfast they opened the book and Lenume` sent out a signal to Ringer and waited for him to respond. When he answered, to her shock, he was covered in cuts, burns and bruises!
"Sir, are you alright!" She exclaimed.
He smiled and nodded.
"You need not worry about me. The battle's over." He said but he paused for a moment. "Well, I'm guessing that you have all the silver rings if you would have never gotten into contact. Now, are there any riddles that will lead to the gold?"
She nodded with a smile.
"Yes Sir, however, the last for a lack of a better word, quest I found something that you would be quite interested in." She said.
"Later, now read the riddles, Jeff, write down what she says." He said.
"Right Sir."
"Right, you ready?"
"Jeff are you-"
"Yes Sir!" He moaned.
She looked down and cleared her throat.
"'I am carefully hidden,
In a place forbidden,
Where Fay lie,
And men die'" she said as she waited for the unseen Jeff had finished.
"Done!"
"The next."
"'I am truly hidden well,
Where the war of Manfell,
Was won by evil and night,
And all flee in terror and fright!'"
"Done!"
"Read on!"
"'I am hidden in a deep dark cave,
In the land where men are a slave,
And fixed to do fairies will,
Even if they betray and kill!'"
"Done!"
"'I am hidden in the heart,
Where the vampires start,
Where white tainted and turned black,
And all who enter have a lethal attack!'"
"Next!"
"The final riddle is,
'I am hidden in the worst fairies' heart,
Where love and light will always part,
Despair will come to all who she wishes,
And death to all who she hates with kisses!'" She finished.
Ugh! She thought.
There was a moment of silence as they all thought about the riddles that she had just read.
"Well, I can tell you that the first one is clearly in the land of the Unseelie Court, and if I'm not mistaken, Morthiem." He said slowly.
Her eyes widened as she felt the hairs stood on end.
So, I think that it would be wise to keep armed at all times… She thought as she felt unnerved.
"How should I proceed?" She asked.
"Well the same as usual but be more careful. I can tell that we need to trod very carefully, after all, we are trodding on enemy territory." He said.
"Right."
"So, see you later."
She souluted.
"Sir!" She snapped.
They soon arrived. When she laid her eyes on the dark place. In fact, even though it was day, it was still too dark, in fact not even a ray of sunlight hit the ground. It seemed somehow colder too, even just looking at it gave one deathly cold chills. As she looked down she saw the winged fairies and elves looked up at her and she felt colder as she could feel that they were not looking at her but through her, looking into her heart rather than her.
"You alright?" Lenume` asked.
"Y-yeah." She said as she sat down. She saw that Lenume` had an uncomfortable look on her face. She also put her hood up and was boosting her head slightly as they landed.
"You?" She asked.
"Should be." She said as she got to her feet. "Buy the way, keep in mind that not all fairies are like them. Nor do all of them do the horrors that you may see and the boss was not joking that you must be careful. After all, I know above all."
"I know, but if you think about it, I could say the same thing about myself." She said as she grabbed her weapons. She then put on her backpack. She then left the air yot. The first thing that hit her was the grim scent of sulfur mixed in with decay. She could feel her heart aching and she knew that this was magic. She could tell that there were spells and enchantments here that would lead to any unexpecting and innocent person to kill themselves.
She soon heard someone singing.
"'Oh come, life is soever hard,
Oh come, life is a testable card,
Oh come, oh come!'" She heard someone sing slowly and depressingly.
She felt the aching in her heart worsen.
Yup, this place is definitely trying to get people to commit suacide. She thought as she hit herself. She forced herself to think about happy things, but the song and the depressing feelings made it difficult. Worse still was that she could only think about all the bad things that had happened to her. She remembered all the times people had tried to kill her, all those who had been killed because of her. Then it hit her, she did not even have a home to go to. The only thing that she had was Morgan, yet even that was not near her nearly all the times that she wished.
She felt sick of it! She came closer and closer to the place the thoughts and the depression increased and the song that she could hear did nothing to help. By the time she climbed down the stairs she was feeling the tasers well up inside of her. She fell to her knees and she started to weep. She tried to get a hold of herself, yet she could not. She tried to stop the tears from falling yet the more that she tried the harder that it became. She felt so alone, yet she knew that she would always be alone and there would be nothing that she could do about it.
"If you don't stop crying I'll give you something to cry about." She shouted at herself.
Then something broke and the crying stopped. She looked up to see a small but with a thatched roof on a hill surrounded by a stream. She circled the place to see if there was a way across the stream. She then found one. She then jumped on each some and was across before she knew it. She soon found it hard to breathe and she started to cough. Yet she knew that she had to continue. She walked on and on, keeping the but in her sight. She then fell and hit her head. She commando crawled closer and closer, soon her head felt light and her eyelids felt heavy. She came closer and closer nevertheless. Soon her lungs hurt and her muscles wanted to stop moving. She was about to pass out and then her fingers reached the gate of the garden of the hut. She pulled herself up and opened the gate. She collapsed and then, as she took a deep breath she realised that she could breathe again.
She took a small break before she got to her feet. She opened the door to the hut then her eyes on none other than the one who cut her hair.
"L-Lamia?" She asked, confused.
She smirked.
"Are you wondering what I'm doing here?" She deduced.
She frowned as she came closer to her and she pulled out a sword.
"Surprised." She corrected.
"Really, I don't blame you."
"So what are you doing here?"
"Looking around." She said as her eye caught the lace with the silver rings around her neck. She then picked up a small golden jewelry box. "I believe that what you are looking for is in here."
She lowered her sword and recurved the box with suspicion. She shrugged and looked aside.
"Look, I can understand your suspicion, however, we both know that you are by far not a threat to me now." She said as she stroked a pendent. "Stay where you are."
She suddenly went as stiff and still as a statue. She could do nothing as Lamia walked closer to her. She raised her hand and combed through the white crop of hair.
"You know that look sort of suits you." She said. She then came close to her. "You know what I can do to you now? You know what I can make you do?"
She started to go green as her imagination flooded her mind with several images of being tortured. She then felt her finger stroke her jaw.
"Good, I see that you're not that foolish. That's good my dear sister."
"You're not-" she felt a choking sensation in her throat.
"Not by blood, no, but we are in other ways. What ways we are, is yet for you to find out." She said as she pecked her temple. "See you later."
She wanted to hit her but she patted her shoulder as she turned to the door. She heard the door creek as it opened and closed. She was incapable of moving for a long time and she dropped. She felt herself shaking all over. She just could not get what she said out of her head, yet she could feel that Lamia had her own plans, plans of which she did not know.
She opened the box and saw it instantly. She picked it up and put it on a gold chain that was in then she walked out. She noticed that there was no suffocating barrier around the hut. She soon was back in the air yot. She then collapsed on her bed.
The Dark Lady Fairy
Ringer looked at the ring as he listened with a perplexed look on his face. She waited until he was ready to speak once she had finished. She knew that he had to get this over and done, but she knew what he needed time to process what she had just said. His eyes moved left to right as he thought. Once he was ready he looked up back at her.
"Well I think that I should tell you that the attack was orchestrated by the followers of Grasharlo. Don't worry, we gave nothing away concerning you, not even the books of the rings. In fact they seemed not to be interested in other books that we had." He admitted.
"What books were they?"
"The Prophecy Books. They're in the Underground Library and, I must admit, that I could not quite figure out why at the time but I did just now. Anyway, our teams have figured out where the next ring is."
"And where is it?"
"Patience, and it's called Manfall in the Kingdoms of the Unseelie Court." He said as the screen turned black.
What's going on? Why would my sisters want the Prophecy Books? Are they answering to someone else?
She suddenly came to the conclusion that it did not master just yet. No, she would find out all about that later and she had a mission to focus on. She would have plenty of time to wonder about that later once this mission was over and done. Yet her mind could not get out all that she had been through her mind, like what had happened with the dragon lords and the fact that Lamia seemed to know things about her that she didn't. Yet even though it by far did not sit well with her, she knew that she could not do anything about it. She looked out of the window completely lost in thought.
"We've arrived in Manfall!" Called Lenume`, snapping her out of her thoughts.
She looked out and she spotted that the place was darker than the last place. This looked like a place where light dies. She could just about see the outline of an eerie old dark castle that looked like it was built in the Fifth Age Of Legends.
Lenume` had trouble landing too. When she got to her feet and the door opened she looked down and was just about able to see the cobbles as she stood on them. She produced a ball of fire, even though the overwhelming darkness rendered it almost useless. So she knew that she would have to continue nevertheless. She tried to put more power into the fire but she soon found that the flame had become too hot, so she returned it to the normal flame. She had to continue in almost darkness. She slowly, but carefully reached the castle. As she came to the doors they opened on their own without her touching it. She could sense that she was entering songwriting that she did not want to. She pushed her irrational fear aside as she walked in. She saw the outline of a staircase.
To the top! Said a voice inside her head which she knew that she should trust. So she started to climb the creaky stairs, slowly and groping to the banister tightly as she knew that it was her only guide. As she did, she tested each and every step before she put her weight on them. She finally reached the top after what felt like an hour. She looked around the floor, fortunately, the floor was lighter so she was able to see around.
It's the door opposite.
She walked to the door and opened the for as she felt the hairs stand on end. She looked in a room and noticed that the place was difficult to make out. There was only one thing that she could see. A woman with long silk black hair that came down to the top of her ankles. She had dark green elongated eyes that looked as if they could see your soul. Her skin was as silver as the moon and her face carried a chilling cold beauty that could turn anyone to ice. Yet, despite this, Loc felt the strange feeling like she could trust this fairy, however there was a part of her that knew that she could not. This part was also screaming that she should run away. Even her foot took a step back.
No, I must go on!
"Come, Sorrowful Demon of the pit." She spoke with a soft whispery voice, almost like a mother but with a chilling tone.
Suddenly, her body moved on it's own towards her as she felt the feeling that someone had stepped on her grave. She felt her heartbeat increase as she knew that she was trapped. As to emphasise her helplessness the for closed behind her. With a click she knew that the door was locked and that she knew that she would have to fight her way out of this place. She then stopped. She was barely able to see but she heard three dark fairy walk up to her and she could feel her breath on her forehead.
"What, can you not see?" She asked as Loc felt her finger on her cheek.
She could feel her body shaking uncontrollably as she closed her eyes in dread. It seemed that she was shaking so badly, that the fairies' control over her was the only thing that was keeping her standing. She soon felt a pounding pressure in her head like as if there was a heart in her head that was threatening to make her brain explode. She also felt a painful burning sensation surge throughout her entire body. She tried to move again and again but it would not budge, it could only shake fear and pain.
She opened her eyes to find herself looking directly into her eyes. She could feel her gaze cutting deeply into her. Looking into her heart and exposing her soul to her. As she did she suddenly felt like she was naked in front of her. She knew that she could not only not lie to her, but she knew her better that she knew herself!
That was when the pounding became worse and worse. She could feel like her skull was about to split! And the painful burning made her feel like she was in the heart of the sun!
Stop it, stop it!
Smirking slightly she let go and Loc collapsed.
"Thank you sweet Sorrowful Demon of the pit." She said as she kissed her forehead. She then took her hand and she felt like she had put smoothing around her finger. "Here, I believe that this is what you came for."
She then felt her hair tickling her cheeks.
"I left you something in the other rooms, after all, there was something that I left for you there. If you ever want to come back here, you will need it."
She opened the door and she passed out. When she woke up she was covered in an ice cold sweat. She climbed to her feet slowly. She summoned her fire. Which was only a small flame, she knew that she was far too weak to summon anything else. She walked out of the room and, knowing that it would be a good idea to do what that fairy had told her, she looked around even though she had what she came for. She looked in each door but she somehow knew that she would know what that fairy wanted her to have, so she knew that it was not here. She went from door to door until she had made a full circle around the floor, she knew that it was in this room. She walked in and saw a book.
The Three Reality Sephiers
The Cracks Between Worlds
And Their History
By The Chronicler
This is it. She thought as she took it. I must admit, that this Chronicler seems to get around. I wonder who he or she is…
She finally made her way to the air yot. She woke up Lenume` she then looked at her forehead and her eyes widened.
"Where did you get that?" She demanded as she looked at her with a pale face and fear in her wild eyes.
"What?"
"That!" She exclaimed as she pointed at her forehead.
She touched it.
"What is it?" She asked as she looked at herself in the window and she saw that there was the side of a black rose where the fairy kissed her.
"Wh-what is that?" She asked.
"Tell me, when did you get it?" She demanded to know.
"I-I think-I think she gave it to me." She said as she realised that she never got her name.
"Who?" She asked with a stern tone to her voice.
She told her what had happened. Her eyes darkened as she came to the end. She then hugged her as she just looked at her confused.
"Len, what is it?" She asked.
She pulled away.
"Her name is the Dark Lady Irynorkara." She said. "And if she has done this, then she must have plans for you. And whatever they are, you must know that they are by far not good."
Smoke And Fire
Ringers' eyes had a dangerous look in them but she knew that this was because of something else. She knew that whatever this was, was far bigger than her. She knew that she would find out at the right time. She did not know why but she did. This was why it was better for her not to ask.
"Well, it seems that your sisters… The awakened shards of Grasharlo, wants you to know the truth of her parentage." He said.
She nodded as she thought about when they killed her parents and then her mind went over the time that she wrote about what she did to her adopted parents. She wondered if her sisters valued them as Grasharlo valued her allied patents? Did they see them as biological parents or must another set of adopted parents, just to be put down at the right time.
"I wonder why that is, after all, that does seem to be why they wanted to put me on this quest for the rings… So I don't know if I want to know…" She tailed off.
She felt slightly confused with some irrational fear.
"W-would it be wise to continue with this quest?" She asked, suddenly not wanting to.
"Yes, although I do wish to join you after you get the final gold ring. That way I will know exactly why they wanted you to know this. I have a theory, but just hope that I am wrong."
"How come?"
"It would explain everything and it would mean that many will be after you and many would want to find a way to kill you."
"But, I am immortal." She pointed out.
He let a sigh escape his lips.
"There are ways to kill immortals Loc, some in a metaphorical way and others physically." He said.
She nodded as she understood what she had meant. She nodded to let him know this.
"Where are we going next?"
"An old village called Vyrcrot. It should be somewhere near your current location." He said. "We've been having trouble freeing the human slaves there."
She nodded slowly.
Maybe if there might be something there that will be able to help…
"I wouldn't bet on it." Lenume` said. "However it would do little harm to check."
Loc nodded as the screen went black. They both ate a sandwich before they took off. It was difficult to tell time in this place, they did not know how long that they were in the air but when they arrived Loc had to look at her fob watch. It told her that it was four o'clock in the afternoon. She wondered where all that time went, in this case they would have to have their tea, even though it seemed like an hour since they had their lunch. She could see that the village had houses made of wood and shiny black cobbled roads. She could see that the only light was coming from small candles with purple and green flames.
Fairies walked around freely as they held chains in their hands which were attached to men, women and children clothed in black robes and red rims. Their eyes had a dead look in them, they all kept quiet and at the same pace as their masters. They all, even the children, had emotionless expressions on their thin faces. All of them were thinner and paler than normal.
The fairies looked up as they flew over them, however the human slaves did not even take a glance, not even the children. The fairies looked directly at her with a gleeful smirk as they looked at her, but she knew that it was not her that they were seeing but something inside of her. She tried to put that out of her mind, she tried to focus on what she was going to do but part of her could not. She just could not get their gaze out of her head. She shook her head as she felt colder than earlier.
IfI find one, I will find a way to free you!
They soon spotted a cave and found a small and narrow place that they could only just land in front of. Loc walked to the door and when it opened she started to feel something heavy on her chest. She became all too aware of her strong and heavy heartbeat as it felt magnified. She stepped out of the air yot to be greeted by dark mist and she stepped on the wet grass and saw that the cave was covered in green, yellow and brown moss.
Age walled closer to the cave and she spotted that from the moss came a dark smoke. Knowing that she was going to enter the cave she lit her flame then walked on. She was soon in the mouth and she came to a door and opened it revealing twin glowing red eyes. Eyes that dived at her, immediately she dived left but she felt something around her waist. Her face dropped as she was dragged back into the cave she twisted her hips to see exactly what she was facing, however all she could see was smoke! She fired a fireball at it only to reveal that it was a fire giant!
I need water!
She looked around to see that there was none in the cave. Her mouth opened as she scoffed at her situation. She started to feel herself start to sweat and a drop fell on it's hand and he let go of her and steam rose from where the drop fell. She dropped and took no time to roll away from him. She then got onto her feet before he could do anything. She then started to run and the fire giant chased her. He rose out his hand from it came a blast of lava. She jumped up and out of the way. She then fired a fireball at him. This only made it worse, however she saw that there was a slight tremor where she had hit. So she fired another. She saw that he got bigger and she fired another he got bigger. She did this again and again and she increased the temperature and he became bigger. She saw that the body of the lava giant became more and more unstable. She flew more at him and soon his body started to shake and then… Boom!
Then she saw rocks and lava all around her. She had to bite her lip as she felt the lava burn into the back of her hands and legs. She tried to keep herself from crying out in pain as she waited for the burning to end and then she felt the itching as she healed.
Seriously, how do people cope with this!
She walked in and saw the gold ring and collected it. She left and then took a wash and changed her clothes. She looked down to see what the time was. Only an hour had passed.
"Len, how about some tea?" She called.
"I'd love some, though I must say, today's gone fast!"
She smiled and nodded.
The Vampire Ghoul
Ringer nodded as he listened to what Loc had to say.
"There's probably a bizarre time zone there." He said. "Fairies are said to dabble in time related magic."
She nodded.
"Now where are we to go next?" She asked.
"A place called Yaminox Mortshine`, so named because of what happened there." He said.
"And that is?"
"The Bloodless Clan rose from there. We have come to the conclusion that Grasharlo would have hidden it in their castle."
Loc nodded. She remembered that she had read all about them in her time in Underground Town. She remembered that the Bloodless Clan was the first vampire clan. The king and queen there was Victoria and Vladimir Bloodless, they were named that after they had become vampires, before it was Tapez or Dracule. Even when they were human they were a dangerous family, so when they became vampires they became even more of a nightmare.
"Are the vampires still there?" She asked.
Ringer nodded slightly.
"Only one. A deformed thing known to the region as Weak Fang, but we call them ghouls. They're what become of those who aren't psychologically strong enough to go through the transformation from what they were into a vampire." He said.
Loc nodded as she knew that she would have to put whatever it was that she was about to face out of its misery.
"So, there's a great chance that I would have to fight a mindless ghoul?" She said out loud.
"Yes. Which is why you would be better off getting a move on as soon as possible after all the sooner that you get this ring the better. Meanwhile, I will start to pack." He said. "Lenume` come back and pick me up after Loc has the final ring."
"Noted!" She called keeping her eyes on the sky.
"Then keep your eyes on the skies." He said.
"Will do."
He looked at Loc for some conformation which she gave.
"Then in that case expect that we will be arriving shortly." She said confidently.
"Then see you soon." He said as the screen went black.
She took this time to take a quick nap as Lenume` flew them to the pace. She woke up just as they arrived. She looked out and she could see that the place was the most darkest place that her eyes ever laid eyes upon. The only thing that helped her see anything were mushrooms that dimly glowed a strange titan green colour and crystals that were glowing a light purple. She looked up to see that there seemed to be an endless sea of clouds and the fact that it was night did nothing to help.
She got to her feet and then walked to the door. They shuddered as they landed. Then the door opened and her eyes met the gates that rose high above her head. That had bars that rose up from the ground like stakes connected by a curvy bar that wound up and down like a snake. Yet as her eyes adjusted to the dark she was shocked to see that there were real stakes poking up from the ground with skulls and bones attached to them like a twisted forest. Yet as she looked around she saw that there was purple ivy starched to the walls of the castle ahead. She then smelt a sweet scent of mint coming from it.
Death mint ivy, one of the most dangerous poisons, when taken from the vines, whose leaves grinned down and boiled would make the best tea for mental illnesses.
Good job that I'm immortal.
She opened the gate. She looked at the castle with doors with cracked and chipped black paint. She walked to the door and opened it only to be greeted by a series of loud noises. She felt dread kick in knowing what those sounds were coming from. This told her that she had stepped into a lion's den. She lit her flame but she tried to not look scared. She knew that they would be able to smell that. She soon heard a panting next to her neck and felt moisture on her neck. Feeling her dread rise higher as her head turned to meet a pair of scarlet eyes that, if he had not been bitten, would have been a handsome elf. It made her heart aiche to see him like this.
However this was cut short when it jumped on her. She quickly dived out of the way. She flicked her fire at him however as the flakes set him alight he seemed unfazed by them. Yet it was worse for the flesh regenerated must as fast as the flames eat it! Locs' eyes widened as she backed away, she then noticed that the ghouls' footsteps started a little fire of their own. This started to spread.
This thing's going to kill me! This thing's going to kill me! She repeated in her head. It came closer and closer to her and the fire had rushed ahead of him. She screamed as her hand set on fire. She looked at her hand as it too regenerated, reminding her that see to was immortal. However it did little to dull her pain or her fear.
It then dived at her and as she jumped back it sank its teeth into her calf. She kicked and it kicked at it but its' jaws sank deeper and deeper into her flesh. She could feel that the jaws became tighter and tighter and tour deeper into her leg. She felt that it released heras it finished biting into her leg and it gulped it down. She then felt a surge spread throughout her body and she felt a strong will aiming to the ghouls' jaw and then she saw the jaw fly off! His body then flew back and then it flew out of the door and it landed on one of the stakes outside and it turned to dust.
Her leg looked down as she felt that it regenerated. She leaned back and let out a sigh. She then pulled up a loose floorboard and snapped it in half. She would need them later. She continued on and she saw that there was another ghoul and she ran up to it and staked it. She then went on and, despite the flames, she had to be as calm as she could.
She saw that there was a small wooden door.
That one. She thought. She walked in and collected it. She then raced out of the place and the moment that she got back in she took a wash and then went to bed.
The Riming Witch
When Loc woke up she took a wash. The bite that the ghoul had given her had healed up nicely and there was not even a scar for it. She had read somewhere that when a vampire ghoul bit into its prey the person that the vampire ghoul would not become a vampire. It had something to do with the belief that vampire ghouls were incomplete vampires so the glans that was responsible for turning someone into a vampire was also not complete. However there was one side effect, her mind was foggy and a bit of a slow blur. Which made thinking difficult. She blinked away the sleepiness as she knew that she would have to wait for her mind to come around and became more awake.
She slipped on some black leather pants that were loose fitting and with the inside having the fur still there, it made her legs feel warm. She then put on a dark purple top that ended at her wrists and a blacky grey jacket made of wool.
She looked at herself in the mirror. She looked at the black rose on her forehead and then her eyes slipped down to the black five pointed star in between her eyes. She then ran her hand through the crop of white hair slightly afraid that when her hair grew out that it would look funny. She did not want to draw too much attention to herself, not that she did not do far too much of that already…
I can't believe just how different I look after all of these years! I think that I really do need a break and just go back to Underground Town.
Yeah, that would be nice…
This is what she had agreed with herself that after this mission she would take a week off to go back there. Remind herself that she had and could have a life after she had taken care of her sisters. She knew that it would do her a world of good to clear her mind, just a bit and even plan on what she wanted to do once this is all over.
She then got her breakfast as the screen came on.
"Good morning Loc."
"Morning sir, sorry I'm here a bit late I got bit by a vampire ghoul." She said.
He looked sideways.
"It's alright, anyhow the next location is by Lillith Lake and the fairy witch that you are about to face is Zillah Lillit, or Death Kisser as even one of her kisses are lethal. She is an extremely dangerous creature so do not let down your guard for a moment. And Lenume` I want you to join Loc in this one. She might just need a power up."
"Right, but after this I will need a good and long sleep."
"Noted and remember-"
"Already on it!" She called.
She turned and finished her breakfast.
"So I'll take this to the kitchen and see you after I have that last gold ring."
"See you two soon." He called as the screen went black.
She then walked to the cramped kitchen and then cleaned up. She brushed her hair and cleaned her teeth. She thought about the food that they had and wondered if there was enough to feed then once Ringer was on board, never mind that, what were they to do with the sleeping arrangements? She thought about all of this but she looked out of the window, even though it was still a good deal into the morning it was still dark outside. She could see the dark water of the lake. They soon found a good place to land.
She walked to the door after collecting her weapons and gave a few to Lenume`. Then they waited for the door to open.
"Ready?"
"Ready!"
They walked out and placed their feet on the shiny black pebbles and looked at the black lake. She looked down to see their reflection on the pebbles. They walked further out of the air yot as the door closed. They felt a strange heaviness in their chest as they kept their eyes out for something suspicious. They followed the river and they saw that it looked as black as ink. They looked around to see that there was still no light anywhere. However, Loc wondered why every kingdom of the Unseelie Court was covered in darkness.
"It is to do with the magic that the evil fairies practice. It attracts evil and unnatural darkness." Lenume` explained.
They came to a small hut that must have only had space for either one or two rooms. The circular wall was made of the same black pebbles as the ones that they were standing on. There was one single small door that was made of blackwood and the thatched roof was white, which looked like it was glowing. She saw that there were a few windows made of crimson glass. By the look of the light behind them it was all too clear that the witch was awake.
Looks like we've got a fight on our hands!
"She must love black as much as you!" She joked.
"Well black is a colour but it's also a shade, yet it's not my favorite colour." She admitted.
"Then what is it?"
"Purple, amethyst purple to be precise." She said.
"Like your shirt?"
"Yeah."
"Well that's strange...I believe that was Rehos' favorite colour." She told her.
"Really!" She said as she raised her eyebrows.
They came to the door which was opened by a woman with skin as silver as the moon and eyes as turquoise as the ocean. She had ice cold beauty.
"Come little children, come inside,
Where you no longer can hide!" She said.
They looked at each other in surprise as they wondered if they should. Realising that they had no choice looked down only to find that they were automatically walking in. They took great care to ensure that they did not let their guard down even for a moment.
"I have been expecting you,
And I can see that it is true." She said as she pointed to her.
"I see does live inside,
Although he does hide."
She soon saw that her eyes had turned an unnatural shade of royal blue. Seeing her hair this close she saw that her hair had grown so long that it was touching the back of her ankles.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked as she took out her sword.
"Ah! The one that divided the three,
The one that will cut the emotional tree,
The one that shall become one with thee!"
That was when she started to feel dizzy and weak. She found that her eyesight was getting blurry. She stepped back a little. She shook her head and then charged at her. She dodged out of the way and she tried to summon her fireball but she was far too weak and she knew it. She then charged ahead but she felt like she was fighting like a drunkard. She then laid eyes on Lenume`, who was on the ground. Her eyes shut and the only sign that she was alive was her systematic breathing.
"Lenume`!"
She then felt her legs give way. Zillah approached her and she felt her hands pulling her back. Her heart was beating so fast that Loc was afraid that it would give way. She found herself shaking as she knelt next to her. She could feel the vimet in the back of her throat. She then placed a hand on her chest. She tried to keep her head up but her head was soon banging against the ground.
Her eyes were now a light shade of purple and her maroon lips smiled as she touched her heart. She felt her breath giving way and she could feel ice cold. She soon felt her hand off her heart. She smirked as she then put a hand on her own chest and she saw that her hand seemed to become like a ghost. Then her hand sank into her own chest.
W-what am I looking at?
She then could see into the chest and she saw her lungs and her heart where her heart. She then saw that she pulled it out of her own chest! She then saw the fairies' heart in front of her, she could see veins and arteries in front of her yet the strange thing was that there was not even one drop of blood to be found. She felt her stomach churn as she saw the pulsing. That was when she saw it, a shiny gold thing around the main artery. The gold ring that she came for.
I did not expect that riddle to be so literal! She thought as she remembered it.
"I know you and I will meet again,
When you are one with your bane." He said as her heart became like a ghost and she pulled it off.
"You will leave for a great amount of years,
And put to rest a great amount of fears,
Then to this time you will return,
Your true power you will learn,
Then I and others will come for you,
Then you will see many plans through." She said as he put the ring on her shaking finger.
She then bit into her finger and put it to her forehead beneath the rose and ten drew it down making a stem of blood. She found herself feeling that her body was on fire and she screamed out again and again until drule flowed from the corner of her lips. She then tasted a grim taste in her mouth that was like ash and vomit that was laced with too much sugar. She then felt her nose block up with blood and she could no longer breathe! She soon passed out.
When she woke up she felt fine and her face and hair were clean. She then got to her feet. She then felt weakened but she knew that she should not waste any time. She summoned her fire and then looked around she saw that Lenume` was unharmed. She sighed and then noticed that it was strangely quiet. She then spotted that there was no one else there. Zillah was gone.
She felt that her head was saw and she picked up Lenume` and walked to the air yot.
"I see that you were no match for her." Said Ringer.
"No, no I wasn't." She admitted.
"Loc are you alright? Here let me look at you!" Morgan exclaimed as she hugged her and looked at her forehead.
"Yeah, I need some rest." She said.
"Then get as much as you need, I will fly us out of here." He said.
"How did you come here?" She asked.
"We packed early and came here. While you were away we were able to install two more bedrooms and we brought more supplies." He said.
"Good to hear."
"Well, get your rest and we'll look at the new riddles that have appeared."
She nodded as she collapsed in her bed.
