The Sorrowful Rebel Chapter Nine Victory Of The Rebel

 Escape

Loc was utterly broken. She had nothing, she was nothing, she meant nothing. All she was was a shell with nothing in her mind but a black cloud. All she wanted to do was spend eternity in this cell, where she could no longer get anyone killed. Almost like a shadow. She knew that Wolf Raven would continue to drain her but she did not care. In fact she did not care what would happen to her. After all, why should she? She did not deserve care. She did not deserve to be free. She did not deserve warmth. She did not deserve home. She did not deserve anything.

She cared so little about herself that when they came in to feed her, she barely opened her mouth! Not even when he would take too much. Regardless of what he did to her or how painful it was, she did not even cry out once. She felt the painful hunger but did not care to address it. Maybe the painful hunger was what she deserved, along with a death that she knew that would never come. With endless days of darkness and pain.

She started to lose weight and muscle mass. Eventually she started to get thinner and thinner. Her bones started to show. Then Wolf Raven came in. Her body barely moved, even her facial features did not change. He walked right up to her and her eyes did not budge.

“Good morning Loc!” He whispered in her ear, almost like she was his lover rather than an enemy.

She said nothing. He then punched her in the gut. She barely let out a grunt.

“I said, good morning Loc!” He sang.

She still said nothing. He let out a chuckle.

“Ahh… I see that's how it is.” He said, stroking her cheek. “I heard that you’re not eating and now I see why.”

He kissed her on the other cheek, looking intently in her eyes. He saw no response as he leaned in closer to her. He kissed the corner of her mouth. No response. He opened her mouth and kissed her, no response. He smiled as he rested his hand upon her chest. She felt all her energy from her but she did not struggle nor did she cry out. He might as well have been talking to a zombie! He pulled away and she closed her eyes. He did this every session, just to test her.

“You know, just looking at you is just sad! Where’s that fire? Where’s that viger? Where’s that life?” He drew close to her as her mind started to drift off. “Where’s that challenge that got me all worked up and excited about what you were going to do next?”

Then her mind slipped into, nightmare.

Then her eyes opened again, mainly out of habbet. She was still where she was. She barely noticed that the cuff around her waist was gone. She did not register the woman that came in here to feed her. She barely did anything. She just wanted to die here. She wanted to starve, maybe that would lead her to her grave. If only she could be that lucky. She knew deep down that the only way to kill her was with an immortal killer. So why even bother to have a hope of that?

Yet, as each day wore on, death eluded her. She became thinner and thinner and thinner. Then Wolf Raven would feed upon her, he would be able to get less and less energy from her. She had less and less energy to give. She would sleep a light and dreamless sleep. Yet she felt illness cling to the back of her throat. Her mind became foggy and disoriented asall she could focus upon was her utter hunger.

Soon she could no longer tell the time or if it was night or day. Then she became thinner still. Everything became a jumbled mess of darkness. She knew that her bones were showing. Yet she did not care. Then she became so thin that a gap appeared in the cuffs. She could feel her bones becoming weak too. Day by day she hung there, the gap became bigger and bigger. Her bones became weaker and weaker. It became so big that her hands slipped out of the cuffs and she slammed into the floor and her bones had become so weak that her shins broke. Along with the bones of her skull.

Soon she felt the pain. She groaned as she he felt her legs became itchy as her body healed and her feet regrew. The pain brought her back to her senses. Her mind became more awake and alert after a long time. Even though she could not place as to why, but, she suddenly felt a burst of strength. Once her feet and legs were regenerated she knew what she had to do.

She could not set up another rebellion. No, they would only be killed. She could not set up a small group or it would end like last time. So she had to do this alone. Where it would be between her and him, and her and him alone. This way none could get hurt and no one else would die.

She looked aside to see the ocean beside her. She knew that, that was the way she should go. Yet she was about to dive over until she looked in the water when a thought struck her.

No, it would be too obvious!

Then it occurred to her!

Yes it would!

She pulled out her legs and dragged them to the edge and dropped them in. Making sure that there was a blood stain that would make it look like she had dropped into the ocean. She looked at the air vents beside her. She used all the energy that she could and unscrewed the grid and slid in as fast as she could. She pushed her fingers through the bars and carefully screwed them back on. She then crawled in further. She crawled and crawled until she was hidden in the darkness.

Time In The Air Vents

Loc shook as she crawled in the air vents. She knew that she should not leave the base. After all, this was where Wolf Raven was. Which meant that this was the best place to be in order to finally take him down. However, she knew that she could not make a move just yet. She needed to observe the guy until she knew that she had her opening. She also knew that if she acted too soon then she would never get a chance. The other reason why she had to hide here was because she knew that this would be the last place that he and his people would look.

She realised that she was utterly starving and, as she looked down, she spotted just how thin she had become too! She could not even remember being this thin! Her eyes widened as she could even see her bones too! Which meant that she needed to build her body or she would be far too weak to even land a hit. She knew that she would not have even been able to raise a sword with this body, let alone even think about a fight. She could even feel her fingers itching as they repaired from the damage of unscrewing and putting it back on.

Yet she waited until it came to light that she was gone before she would start. That was when Wolf Raven walked into the room that she was in. He looked at the empty cuffs. He looked at the red blood stains and then at the flesh, clinging to the cuffs. His eyes lit up as he smiled as he let out a chuckle. His breathing deepened with a rush of excitement. He clapped his hands together.

“Well, looks like round two is on!”

He looked up.

“Quick, we need to get it out that, my dear, Loc has escaped again!” He shouted.

She saw a slight flicker of disgust on the face of one with orange shin and iron coloured horns and purple eyes. But he quickly wiped it off her face.

“What do you want to do?”

“Get your best to bring her back.”

“Alright, I will be on it.”

She, as silently as she could, moved in further in the air vents. She moved back further and further in. She closed her eyes as she listened intently to where Wolf Raven was walking. She followed where his footsteps were as silently as she could. She could feel her arms and legs shaking. She then heard that he was heading up. It took all that she could to push herself up an air vent to where he was going. Then it came to a hallway. She heard him walk down it. She pushed passed through her aching muscles and bones and followed him. She soon came to his room.

I really need to get back in weight. She thought, trying to stop herself from panting.

She looked down as he sat on his bed. He stroked the silver duvet. He did this slowly. She noticed his smile. It was wide and his eyes seemed aggressive as he looked at the bed. Yet he seemed to have an unfocused look in his eyes as he kept at it.

Suddenly she remembered what he said. She may have been psychologically shut down, but somehow that line reached her. She just knew that she just could not allow him to get hold of her again. She became deathly pale as she felt uncomfortable and ice cold.

He then stood and took off his shirt, exposing his muscular frame with a row of spikes going down his spine. He turned to look at himself in a mirror on a black wardrobe. He folded his shirt and dropped it in a basket. She spotted that he was about to pull off his trousers. At this she looked away, despite her curiosity. She knew that once she had seen it, she would have never been able to unsee it.

Knowing that he would be asleep for a while, she crawled back. She looked to see if there were any guards posted outside of the room. She saw that there were four. So she crawled back. She spent the time exploring the air vents, getting her muscles to wake up. She dared not to leave despite her hunger. She did all that she could to make a map in her head. She soon was able to find room in the air vents that was the size and height of a double bed. There, she fell asleep.

When she woke up next time, her mind was clear, but she could not, for the life of her, think past the painful hunger. She tried to think and force herself to think about something else, but she might as well have been thinking of nothing. So, just wanting to think clearly and straight, she crawled to where the kitchens were. She looked at the clock.

1:30 AM

Her eyes looked as she listened for any sound. She then, after hearing none, unscrewed the grid and crawled out. She raced to the nearest drawer to find a full set of cubes. She quickly collected the back row of twelve cubes. She returned to the air vents and put the grid back on. She then returned to the room and took a small bite out of one. She ate it as slowly as she could and only let herself eat one. She knew that she was doing more than just reopening her stomach, but also building her stomach. She should not fill it too much. She also knew that she would have to make each cube last as long as possible. After all, she knew that if people spotted that the cubes kept disappearing from the kitchens then it would only be a matter of time until she was discovered. This is the last thing that she wanted.

She put the cubes to one side. She started to do a set of shaky pushups and then went onto sit ups. She then did all that she could to get her muscles in shape as the day wore on. She did this until the day was over and she was drenched in sweat. Then she slept.

The following day she ate another cube. She spent the day tailing Wolf Raven. He spent some time in a computer room.

“Any sign of her?”

“Not a word of her. Wherever she is, she’s hidden well.”

Loc had to bite her lip to not burst out laughing.

“Well you better find her. I really would like to get her back as soon as possible.”

“Right.”

“After all, if I don’t get her back then I will have to make do with your sister.”

“I don’t have a sister, sir. Also, Noble Wolf-”

“Who cares about him? He’s nothing but a foolish memory in the past, where he and his treasonous mother belongs!”

“But it seems…”

“If he is alive then I will make sure that he meets the same fate as his brother Light Bringer!”

What? He was Wolf Raven’s son too?

Hold on, was he using me too?

No, if he was then his father would not be talking about him like this.

Anyway, I don’t have time for this.

He left the room. She tailed him the rest of the day. At night, she noticed that there were three guards in the door. She returned to her room. There she built her body until she slept. She watched him all day and ate another cube before she slept. The following night she noticed that there were only two guards this time. She continued to watch him. The following day there was only one guard now. The next day there was none.

Then Wolf Raven stroked his bed every night with that aggressive looking in his eyes. Yet as time wore on the aggression turned to hunger. This told her all that she needed to know. However, this was followed by an idea that would give her an opportunity to finally kill him.

She spent a whole month monitoring him and counting how many guards were posted out of Wolf Raven's room. So, the following day, she would put her plan in action.

A Challenge

Once she was out, she could not believe just how good it felt to not have any cuffs on or being constricted by the side of the air vents. In fact it felt like she had come out of a cocoon and now she was like a butterfly that was about to spread her wings. Yet, like when the caterpillar after turning into butterfly signals the end of its life, this would be the end of hers as a rebel.

She looked at the sleeping Wolf Raven. She knew what to do. Even though she had never done this before she knew that it was this time or never. She was about to take out a knife that she stole from the kitchen. She heard her heart in her ears as she lowered it to his throat. She struggled to control her rapid breath.

She walked as silently as she could over to him. She bent over. The heartbeat pounded in her head. Her breath became faster and faster. Yet she tried to get it under control again. She started shaking slightly. Yet she knew that it was too late to turn back. Then her breath hit his face. His eyes opened. He smiled as he sat up.

“So you were here the whole time!” He sang with excitement.

Dart! I knew that I wasn’t ready. I should have prepared more.

Although, I must admit that I am glad that he did. I don’t think that doing it that way would have satisfied me. No, I want a perfect victory. I want to beat him and have him know that I was the one that did it.

“Yes. I have. I am willing to bet that you never suspected that, did you?”

“No. Not at all.” He chuckled as his eyes dropped to the knife.

His face dropped with disappointment.

“Do you really think that you could kill me like that?”

She smiled and shrugged.

“It was worth a shot!” She sighed.

He straightened his back.

“Now, put your clothes on.”

He slid the covers down.

“Oh? And why should I do that?”

“Because it is time for this to come to an end. Just you and me!”

“Oh? And why should I accept?” He taunted smirking, slowly stroking his chest.

He slid to her. She suddenly felt her heart in her ears as she became pale. She could feel a lump in her throat. She let out a deep breath knowing, appreciating what she was about to say, she had to be calm. She felt the same uncomfortable fear as she felt when Lamia cut her hair. After all, she knew that she would have to mean it. She knew that if she lost she would have to follow through regardless of what that would mean for her. However, she has to get those words out. She had to offer him all she had in order to make him agree.

But what if I lose? Can I really go through with what comes next? Can I really afford to do that to myself?

What does that matter? I have to make him say yes. I have got to make sure that I get that fight with him. It is the only way to get him exactly where I need him to be.

Right, let’s get the words out of my mouth.

“If you do, and you win, I am yours. After you can have all of me and I will do nothing to resist you. You get a fight with me and if you win you can have me however you want. Either way you win, either way our fight comes to an end.”

He smiled a wide smile as he looked up and down at her. Then he looked up at her, in the eye.

“Alright. I accept!”

The fallen Emperor

Wolf Raven led Loc to a door. He opened the door and walked In. He switched on the light. Revealing a modest sized room. With walls made of mirrors.

“So what weapon do you want to use?”

She showed him a knife. He smiled at her.

“Thought so.”

“By the way, why did you set this up? Also why are there no air vents in here?”

“I didn’t want people to see me during my time sparing. Also there was no room for the air vents.”

She nodded as he walked in. He closed the door.

“There, we will have no interruptions. Isn’t that better, my dear?”

She cocked her eyebrow.

“Maybe.”

He took out a long sword.

“Well after this, I don’t want to be interrupted either. After all, this way we can get a much more intimate fight. Let me say this, once I win I will get as much pleasure I can get out of you. Well until you give me a son. Maybe sons, if I’m feeling generous!”

She rolled her eyes. Then she looked at him in nothing but disgust.

No. Calm down. Don’t let this get under your skin. After all, the calmer the head the more likely the win.

It was all too clear he thought that he was being clever. However he was dressed in nothing but a pair of black trousers. She looked at his eyes as she raised her dagger to him. He raised his sword to her.

He ran to her. He went to strike her. She dodged and went to drive her dagger into his stomach. He caught her wrist. She jabbed a punch into his side below the ribcage. He did not let go. She punched him again and again and again. Yet he still did not let go. Then she felt his blade slice her back. She pushed through the pain as she drove her forehead into his loins.

This caused him to let go and she jumped back.

“How dare you!”

“What? All’s fair in love and warm”

He let out a roar of anger. He struck her to the left and then her right. Both she dodged. He struck to her side and she dodged. He then went to slash her stomach but she jumped back. He continued to drive her back again and again. Then her back hit the wall behind her. She looked back to see that he was about to hit her. She ducked and went to hit his loins but he raised his leg and kicked herbin the side.

She clutched the knife as she rolled to the left. She then hit the floor and she was soon on her feet. She saw the sword coming down. She flicked her knife up, blocking him.

“Aww! Are you mad?” She cooed.

His eyes widened as his anger rose. He pulled away and went to strike to the left, she blocked. To her right, she blocked. He went to stab her. She hit it with as much power as she could, whacking it away. He went to stomp on her and she ducked and slit the sole on his foot.

He let out a grunt as he limped back. She then stood erect, looking directly at him. She ran to him. She went to stab his face. He went to wack it away. But at the lady moment she flicked her knife out and into his arm. Then she drove her palm into his nose. His head was thrust up and he dropped his sword. She caught it and plunged it into his side.

He staggered back like a tired drunk. She pulled it out.

“What’s wrong? Can’t beat a single rebel?”

He spat directly into her.

“Never thought that you were this good!”

He coughed. She took a breath.

“Yes. You did.”

She ran at him and sliced his head clean off! Then both head and body fell.

A New World

Wolf Raven’s decapitated corpse was discovered at exactly one o’clock in the afternoon by one of his maids. Big Eyes was her name. She had yellow skin and silver horns and white eyes. She only came to clean up his bed after cleaning all of the other rooms as thoroughly as she could. After all, that was her orders and she preferred to follow them.

The last place she wanted to be was with Wolf Raven. Especially, after finding out that he was the Emperor. Which meant that she knew that, if he was in the mood, she would not be able to refuse him. Not if she wanted to keep all of those that she loved alive. However, much to her relief, he had not ordered her to do it again.

No, it seemed as of late, he had been saving himself for someone. She had noticed that he had been stroking the bed in that look. The one that told her that the first thing he would do once he had her would be bringing her here. Whoever it was, she was glad about the existence of. After all, it meant that he would not draw his attention to her.

The first thing that she noticed when entering the room, was a door that she never knew was even there! The next, was that it was open. This was followed by the realisation that she had not seen her master all day, and he was not in his room. Knowing that was where he was, and out of curiosity, she walked in. The first thing that her eyes met was his head looking at her! She let out a scream of horror. Then as her eyes slid to the left she was greeted by the rest of the body. She let out more screams. Screams that were heard all over the base.

Others raced in to see what the woman was screaming about. That was when their eyes rested on the dead Emperor. They, for a moment, looked at each other wondering what they ought to do. However they all quickly got the word out that the Emperor, Wolf Raven was dead. He was actually dead!

The moment that it reached their ears, the nobles of the favourable houses took their own lives to avoid justice. However, they would greet justice once they reached the other end. This left all of their inheritance to all of their illegitimate children that were kept in the dark. All of them were set free along with their mothers, apart from the ones that were not dead.

Some could not believe it. Others soon celebrated. Yet others genuinely did not know how to react. Some did not know if they should celebrate. Others wondered if it was moral to celebrate. Yet upon learning that the only living son of the Evil Emperor Wolf Raven, Nobel Wolf revoked his claim to the throne with the only order was for all to set all innocent and just to be freed, they soon celebrated. This was followed by many tearful reunions and even more celebrations.

Yet as time wore on, they all came to be used to the fact that Emperor Wolf Raven was dead. It was a strange thing for all of them to let all of that sink in. Yet there were those that still did not know what to do. In fact they were almost lost. Yet others were just enjoying their new found freedom. They were no longer under the thumbs of anything and they could do what they want and be what they want. They could follow their conscience and flourish.

Then, after a week of debate, Wolf Raven’s body was burnt. The whole world watched the cremation on their T.V. screens. They all held a moment of silence. Not for the Emperor but for all those that had died trying to finally put an end to him and his tyranny. Even Nobel Wolf did this. After all, he was the first to know what his father was like and departed from him. All those countless rebellions that were set up and destroyed, just for his own amusement. All those that had their bloodlines destroyed just to stop their genes from being passed onto the next generation. All those that had been killed just for his amusement.

However the one thing that will always remain a mystery was the one that finally killed him. They could never find the one that killed and finally freed the world from him. Almost as if the person disappeared from the face of the world and none ever will. However some theorised that it was none other than Sorrowful. Who was never seen again. In fact none knew what happened to her or where she went. Even though none had the proof to back it up…
