The Key Ring Combiners
"So you think that there are prophecies about me? Why so?" She asked.
"Well, let me start by saying what happened in the school of dragon lords, then there's the other events that have seemed to have shaken this world too. Like for example, that witches, warlocks, evil strongholds and even demons are being killed and taken out. We don't know why or why now, but there are a great number of pirates on the seas." He said.
Her jaw dropped as she had to process what he had just said.
But how? Who's killing all these demons and how? Never mind that who's killing to witches and warlocks!?
"I'm guessing that that's not all?" She said trying to keep her emotions under control.
"No, see we consulted the prophecy books of Phorap the Mad. We, as a rule, never took any of his words seriously but after all that has come to light, I wonder if we ought to break that rule. He prophesied about three individuals that would take down these strongholds, demons, witches and warlocks. He even spoke about a big secret about the gods that will tear them down!"
"What!"
"Sir, I don't think that we should be telling her these things. They are the words of a mad man after all!"
"Morgan, I think I should, after all we both know that there are wise words hidden in 'mad men'. He called the main three that were the heart of his prophecies he called, Demon Slayer, or Demoslae in his native tongue, the God Revealer or Kaveal, and Mulscol, the Multiverse Scholar." He said.
"Sir! We do not need to fill her head with such nonsense! We all know that Phorap was just a mad man that had no shred of sanity and-"
"Is known as the first Legend bar none, and do you not think that it seems strange that some of his prophecies have come to pass, yet we both remember that it was none other than the gods that gave him such a label." He said and his demeanour changed. "But playing devil's advocate, what would I know. Even though I am the youngest head of T.O.O.T.R.O.E and I am expected to know everything the truth is that I don't. But that is all I have, we'll debate this later alright. What we need to do is solve these riddles and get the answer of who Grasharlos' true parentage is."
They nodded.
"Loc, read the first one." He said.
She nodded as she picked up the first book.
"Kingdoms fall, kingdoms rise,
Kingdoms stay, kingdoms dies,
Like the one of dark, dark lies,
Where the palace still cries,
For the blood fallen,
And the child stolen."
Her eyes widened and she smiled.
"What is it?" Morgan asked.
"I know where this is! It's in the Desert Planes!"
"Where exactly?"
"It's the Zuve' palace, you know, the one that is in the shape of a pyramid!" She exclaimed. "In fact I've read all about them and no, it is not because of their connections to Grasharlo."
They looked at her skeptical as they nodded.
"Right, Morgan you read next."
She nodded.
"Bow's string is strong,
Arrows target is wrong,
Hand not for pampering or holding petals,
But to handle different deaths and metals,
And the Uncle that wants her dead,
Becomes her closest family instead-"
"That's Bounty Hunter Bash!" Loc exclaimed as her eyes lit up even more. "So where do we go?"
Morgan gave her a scroning look.
"Shut up!"
" Morgan, Loc focus."
"Right, well we have to go to the place where Bounty Hunter Bash and her uncle, Chash-Chathass… Urgh! Loc, what is this word?"
"Cashathrophogh." She said instantly.
"Yeah, him became tied to each other."
"That's Blood Bound Forest." Loc said.
"You read too many books." She remarked.
"Well I am a bibliophile!"
"Lenume` can you continue?" He asked
"Right."
"And Loc, try not to interrupt this time?"
She nodded.
"People meet because of coincidence,
Others by destinies' manipulative stance,
Go to the place where they met,
Where fate and time was set,
Two girls of similar pasts of this kind,
Is where the truth that you wish to find."
"Loc as you seem to be the expert, do you know where that riddle is telling us to go?" Morgan asked.
"Roqaur, that's Roqaur spelt with a q not a k." She said.
"So we're going to the Zuve' Pyramid Palace, Blood Bound Forest and Roqaur." Ringer revised. "Lenume`, can you get us there as soon as possible?"
"With those crystals that you put in, sure no time." She said as they took off. They flew faster than Loc could have ever thought. That was when she entered into the sun Loc smiled. She had never been so happy to see and feel the light and heat of the sun. Even though it hurt her eyes, she was still glad of it. She just could not describe how much she missed the light and knowing that it was day. Rather than have to rely on her unreliable internal clock.
They then crossed borders after borders and within a flash she saw green, lakes and oceans and they soon flew over the Sand Planes and they soon came to the neighbour next door, the Desert Planes. Locs' mouth gaped as her eyes rested on the ruins of a broken golden pyramid. The place where one of her heroes, Arielsa Zuve' was born and spent the first five years of her life. The place that was fundamental to her start and the last place she was seen before she disappeared. They landed in front of the gigantic open entrance.
It was all to clear that none had lived here nor had anyone visited here since the kingdom fell. If she did not know any better she would have thought that this would make it easier.
They all collected their weapons and then walked to the door. She waited for Lenume` to open the door then they walked up to the entrance.
I can't believe it! I'm really here! The place where Princess Arielsa Zuve' was born!
This was also where she saw her parents murdered.
She then saw flashes of when her parents bodies, however, she knew that it was worse for her, she saw them being butchered in front of her. She wondered if she, at the end of it all, was happy. If she ever got over that and was able to live a good and fulfilling life. She probably did not, but it was good to think that she did.
She then looked over to Ringer as she waited for him to give her her orders.
"Right, Loc, I want you to take the lead. Trust your intuition, after all as you are a part of Grasharlo, you will know the way. Morgan, if something or one that tries to attack us, you know what to do. Botg women nodded.
She then walked, her gut told her to go to the throne room where Princess Arielsas' parents were killed. She then walked into the entrance and then she thought about all those books that she had read and then walked to where the throne room was. She saw the silver ring combiner dead in the centre. She then walked up to it, knowing that something will try to stop them. She looked around cautiously as she did to see if there were any traps. When she was sure that there were none she continued. She then took it up into her hand and just as she started to walk away she heard Morgan shout.
" Loc look out!"
She looked up and then rolled out of the way she then rolled up and then presented them the key ring combiner.
"Good work Loc!" Morgan remarked.
"I had a good teacher." She said as they made their way back to the air yot and they soon took off. Loc was secretly glad to get out of the sun. She took all the silver rings and then she slipped them on the combiner. It soon lit up and she soon was holding a silver key.
"That's one done one to go!" She said.
Morgan looked at her as she smiled sorrowfully.
"What? What is it?" She asked, concerned.
"You're so much like your mother." She said.
She looked down and she remembered that she was dead and the only family that she had left was this woman.
"We've arrived!" She called
Loc looked up and got to her feet.
"Time to get back to work!" She sighed.
She nodded as Morgan placed a hand on her head. Then she smiled as she put her hand down and they joined Ringer at the door.
"Same orders." He said as the door opened and they left the air yot. She smiled as she felt the cool air touch her face and they walked by the river. Loc felt an excited rush as they were about to visit yet another pivotal moment in another hero of hers. She just could not put into words just how excited she was, though she tried to hide it and keep her emotions under control.
They soon came to an open section of the forest that looked similar to the hut that the fairy witch lived in if it was a hut that they were looking at instead of a small cottage made of white stones. It had a black thatched roof and a door painted red. She spotted that there was a garden to her left with growing crops and she saw that there were wild farm animals roaming around. This told her that the place was being lived in, but not in a great deal of years.
She walked up to it but she immediately sensed that there was something wrong. She looked around then she saw it, a creature with crimson eyes and made of smoke. She saw that it was in a womans' figure and one that she could see that it looked like Princess Bash Drew!
"Look out!" Shouted Morgan as they looked at it.
She ducked as Ringer banged his rings together and then let a beam of light. This went right through it. The creature pulled out a shadow bow and pulled the shadow string back and then fired a shadow arrow at him. He punched the arrow and it vanished!
"Wait! Wait!" She said. "Look, we're here for Grasharlos' gold ring combiner. Nothing else."
The creature looked at her and nodded. She walked up to a small black lamb and then pulled it off. She then walked up to her and gave it. She looked at it as she felt like she would see that face again. She then walked away feeling a strong feeling of sorrow as she did. She started to feel tears as she understood why the person who lived here would make a shadow in that shape.
"What is it?" Morgan asked.
She shook her head.
"I can't say right now."
She then combined the rings and held the gold ring in her hand.
The Green Mist
Loc was woken up by Morgan. She wiped the sleep out of her eyes and went through her morning routine. She then heard the two keys ting against one another as to remind her that the events of the previous day really did happen and she really did visit the places that she did. She felt her heartbeat increase as she realised that there was one more place that she was going to visit that was not only the place that her heroes had met, but also the place that she was to find out the true parentage of Grasharlo.
"So, it's finally time to go and find out who Grasharlos' parents are." Said Ringer.
"I sure hope that it's worth it!" Lenume` said.
"Me too, although I probably doubt it!" Morgan said. "Reality isn't that kind. After all I have been on many missions that I've been on were nothing but disappointments."
"I hope that you're talking about the giant bee that you thought was the work of an evil sorcerer that turned out to have been a bee that had accidently drunk from a series of potions that that sleepy wizard kept lying around." He remarked.
"This coming from a man who has put too much stock in some prophecies spoken by a mad man!" She jabbed back.
He smiled and shook his head as they looked out of the window. Lenume` soon landed. They walked to the door and then waited for the door to open. When it did they walked out and then looked around their eyes soon met the large castle that was surrounded by a misty forest. With trees that had purple leaves and jet black tree trunks. As they came closer they saw that the mist was bright green.
She was about to go on when she noticed that it was quiet, too quiet. She looked around and then noticed that the ravens, crow and magpies were staying away. She wondered why until she spotted a small robin flew on and the moment that it flew into the mist and then it seemed to dive down. She then crashed down and to her horror she saw that the robin was dead. Her eyes dropped to see that at her feet was a line of all types of dead creatures!
Her heart sank, she soon remembered reading about those mists. Only those who were intended to survive the mists would survive. This meant that, unless that mist cleared, she and only she would be able to go on. So she knew that she would have to get rid of the mist.
How? There's nothing that I have read about getting rid of these types of magic mists! I just hope that it doesn't mean that it's impossible.
It is not impossible, there is a way. Her gut told her.
Really, how?
Let me tell you.
I'm all ears
Find something that rhymes with clear. Then say it out loud with a will of steel.
She nodded.
"Do you have something?" Ringer asked.
She nodded.
She thought as she tried to find a good rhyme. She found herself playing with her earlobe as she thought.
Come on? Beer, deer, fear, gear.. She thought as she went through the entire alphabet. She then got it and then let out a laugh as she wondered how it took her so long. She let in a deep breath.
"Oh green mist that I no longer fear,
I command you now, go and clear!" She shouted.
The mist did not clear but she then thought about what she had just said. She wondered what she had gotten wrong. That was when she got it. She knew what she did wrong. She then put her will behind her words.
"Oh green mist that I no longer fear,
I command you now, go and clear!" She said.
Soon the green mist parted and vanished completely. They then was about to walk on until her arm instinctively threw out
No, the power is still here. She thought.
She frowned and then looked down and saw that there was a green powder coating the place that the mist was. The others looked down and spotted what she had just seen. She soon started to think of a good rhyme to say that would get rid of the rest.
"Power of green,
Leave this scene!"
That was when the green powder burst into fire and then was gone. Ringer gave her a questioning look but then shook his head as if he had answered his own question. Knowing that this caused a moment of doubt she started to feel a moment of dread and maybe of fear. Almost like a child feeling like they had done something wrong when they have no basis to do so.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Is that what your gut told you to do?"
"Yes, it told me to think of rhymes and when saying them, day them with will." She told them.
He nodded.
"What kind of voice is it?" He asked.
She gave a puzzled face.
"I don't know… It's definitely not a woman's...No, it's one of a man... A trustworthy man." She said.
Ringer nodded as he led them onwards. It was all to clear that he would be keeping a closer eye on her from now on. Yet, even though it hurt and made her feel lonely, she understood and knew that this would be for the best.
Yet she soon could not shake the feeling that every step towards the castle was a step away from freedom. She could feel that every step created another bar in a cage that she knew would have been molded far before she was born. They soon came to the double doors and it felt more like she was at the doors of her cage. She found herself shaking as this irrational claustrophobia started to choke her. She used the keys to open the doors. And as she opened the for it felt like she was closing the doors on her freedom. She knew instinctively, that the step in the castle was her first step into her cage…
The Mirror Labyrinth
Loc looked around to see that she was standing in the centre of many copies of herself. She was confused and surprised to see that the place was very light. She looked up to see where the light was coming from but she just saw the light but she could not see where it was coming from. She then looked back at her doubles.
She stepped forward and saw that her doubles did the same, exactly the way that she did. She quickly realised that they were her reflections. She then walked up to one and reached out and placed her hand on the mirror. She soon realised that she was alone in the hall. This did not make sense, after all should Morgan and Ringer be behind her.
She looked behind her to see that Ringer and Morgan with their palms pressed against what looked like a glass wall. She ran back to them but it seemed as if they were unaffected by her movements. She was about to go back out of the castle but there seemed to be a glass wall separating her from them! It was all too clear that they could not go on and she could not go back either. The only option for her was to go on. Which was what she was about to do but curiosity kept her in place.
"Where-where did Loc go?" Morgan snapped. "And why can we not follow?"
Ringer looked at the glass and placed his hand on the glass. His eyes narrowed as he thought.
"She went into the mirror, although, I have the funny feeling that it is not a normal mirror or the ruler of the mirror domane would have shown up."
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, Grasharlo was far more powerful than we thought, after all, it is said that powerful magic users can create their own pocket world." He said. "Which means that she is on her own."
"What but-"
"Miss Mcain, you must believe that she can do it. She is your niece after all." He said.
Her eyes widened as she felt guilty about doubting Ringer and Morgan. She looked on and knew that it would be wrong of her not to continue, not to mention that she had no choice. She turned and looked at her reflections. She looked carefully at them and looked for the break. The moment that she found it she walked in that direction. She walked on as calmly as possible after all if she rushed through this she knew that she would hit her head and she would never leave this place. She walked on for some time but her head started to ache with all the mirrors and the bright light. She wished that she could close her eyes as she became dizzier and dizzier until she knew that she would have to sit down. When she did she found herself breathing rapidly.
That was when she heard a pounding, but she knew that it was not coming from her head. She then felt the ground shake again and again. She frowned and then she heard a very loud and metallic roar!
Immediately she was back on her feet and caught a glimpse of a pair of reflective hooves. Knowing what was going on she broke into a panicked run. She went down a corridor and she banged into one of her own reflections. She fell back and scrambled to her feet and then ran to the gap in her reflections. She then ran and ran but she could still hear the minotaur close on her tail. She could feel her lungs crying out for her to stop but she had to ignore those cries she kept running. Then she met a dead end. She had to kneel down slightly and catch her breath.
"Tell me what are you looking out for Lorra Cerburus?" Came a voice behind her that sounded a lot like hers.
She jumped and gripped her sword and looked at where the voice came from. She looked left and right but she saw none. She frowned as her eyes rested on a strange mirror with a strange reflection of her. She was wearing a strange armour the colour of purple and gold. She had a twisted look about her. She knew that this was not one of her sisters, it was her but not her at the same time. No, this was her but she knew that this was the her that had woken up and joined her sisters. Just looking at her gave her chills.
She was about to scream but the twisted reflection put her finger to her lips.
"Shhh! You don't want to alert the mirror minotaur of your presence, do you?" She asked with an ice cold tone to her voice, wearing a smile just as equally icy.
Suddenly she felt an icy sensation of fear. She shook her head and she felt herself tremble slightly. This caused her twisted double to smile that ice cold smile unaturally wider.
"Good. Now, I have a question for you, if you care to answer it." He said.
She shrugged.
"Go ahead."
"Do you really think that they will let you go after they have found out the true lineage of Grasharlo?" She asked.
She looked aside. She could not bring herself to answer the question. Not honestly.
"Be honest, do you really think that they will let you go after finding out that or let you take down your other thirds?"
"What have I been doing all this time other than that? After all I hardly care what happens to me after that." She admitted. "Not to mention, I will have you know that they would not have rescued me from the Sunburners if they didn't care for me?"
She looked at her not phased by her speech even in the least.
"'Rescued'? Are you sure? What of it was the Sunburners that were doing the rescuing? After all, with them you could see yourself not even having to think of or have your life revolve around those sisters of yours." She said.
She shook her head.
"No, I was there, I saw it happen." She said. "And if what you say is true, then why did they leave my parents and my sisters and me roam around Underground Town?"
"Were you? Were you really?"
"Oh? And what do you mean by that?" She asked with mock cockiness.
"Well how do you know that those people were your parents?" She jabbed.
"Easy, I don't see what the point would be giving the three of us false parents. Not if they had Morgan for a sister." She said. "So to me that hardly matters! And for your information, the only reason I want to know Grasharlos' bloodline is so that I can find a way to understand that witch. Once I do thatten I can take down my sisters, so if my freedom is the price, then it's one that I am willing to pay."
"You realise just how long that will be? I mean why don't you just wake up already? After all it is inevitable."
"No, I would rather die than join them." She said but she felt a strange pang in her heart as that strange longing to be with her sisters rose up. It was like a powerful drug that, try as she might, she could not quit. However she did not want to be like her sisters.
She cocked her eyebrow.
"Time will tell." She said as Loc slashed the mirror revealing the breathing minotaur which was not covered in fur but shards of mirrors almost as if the creature was made of mirrors rather than anything organic and its twisted horns looked the same. She saw that it had crimson red flames for eyes and smoke rose up from its twin nostrils. Behind it was a trail of cracked mirrors that looked like they were healing themselves behind him.
She then turned to the hall that she came down in only to find that there was a mirror there instead. She looked back as she felt the fear and dread kick in already knowing that the maze was not only sentient, but also wanted her to fight. She ran to it and took out her sword and went to slash it. It bent down and then felt a horn in her gut.
If only being immortal meant that I was immune to pain as well! She thought as ashepulled herself off and slashed the throat aria. Seeing that it had caused no damage she started to wonder if she could defeat the thing! She picked up her sword as she ran at it again and this time she tried to go for its eyes but all that did was melt the tip of her sword and slashed away but this did nothing. She then flew back and hit her back on the mirror and then fell down.
She scrambled to her feet and ran back to the minotaur and hit it again.
Use magic girl! She heard a voice say in her head.
She flew back again.
How? She argued as the minotaur punched down and hit her. She flew the other way.andher head banged as she landed, causing her to break the mirrors and some of their shards dug themselves into her flesh, giving her a bloody mask. Her vision blurred and her ears rang. She felt the side of her face itch and the bones snap painfully into place. She then spat out some blood as she tried to get up but then she felt something sink deep into her gut sending her flying up as she tasted more liquid iron in her mouth. She spat it out. Yet she felt that she was flying higher and higher. Soon she could see the whole labyrinth and even where the exit was. Now she knew where to go. She soon felt herself falling and her body heat increased as she fell. She felt her heartbeat increase as she knew that she was about to endure a land that would kill most people. She dreaded the pain as she came closer and closer to the ground. She hoped that she would not land on top of a wall, for she knew that she would be cut in half and she was yet to know if the missing part would regenerate. Then she hit the ground chest first and she rolled over again and again until her head hit the wall ahead.
She woke up with pain coming from her back and head. She felt her ankles at either side of her temples. She cried in pain as she pulled her arms in and pushed her legs down. She then rolled over as her stomach sealed itself up. She panted as she tried to get herself to stop crying. It was in this moment that she realised that one, that death was better than immortality and two, just how much she missed and longed for her parents.
She then gulped as she felt the ground shake. She felt her body seize up in fear. She tried to get up and run but for the life of her she just could not move! She could also feel herself trembling all over as she tried to get herself under control. She knew that none would come to save her yet even that would not be enough to make her body move! She might as well have been a helpless child!
She looked aside as she saw the minotaur made of mirrors. Her heart sank as she knew that she was about to experience even more pain.
What do I do? What do I do? She thought as it kicked her in the side.
Trust me!
She opened her mouth as she got to her knees.
"Valeo speculum!" She shouted, even though she did not know what it ment.
Then the minotaur shattered into millions of tiny pieces. She dropped where she was and she felt herself shaking all over. She then sat back and let herself take a break. She knew that she would have to get her strength back for she knew that the worst was yet to come. She let out a series of breaths as she waited for her to overcome her shock.
When her body and mind were calm she got to her feet. She calmly, then made her way to the exit, not sure whether or not she was ready for whatever was yet to come.
Hadistutt
When she had finally reached the exit of the labyrinth her eyes met a bizarre sight. She looked at the twisted silver trees with a curve at the mace like a chair where there was a single spike reaching up waiting to prick anyone who would dare to sit in the dip. The sharp holly shaped leaves were coal black with deep purple vanes and long purple thorns pulsed like a flat heart. The sky was a darker shade of purple with bright illuminous green misty clouds and scarlet stars. The ground looked as if it was made of white mud.
The air was moist and warm but the silence was cold and chilling. She could feel an eerie presence and pressure building in her ears like a strange silent drum like her ears were about to painfully pop. Her breathing had become difficult but not as difficult enough to slow her down. Almost like she was at the top of some high mountain.
Despite this she could not help but feel a strange sense of nostalgia for some reason. She could not place why but he was feeling it nevertheless. Probably because of the fact that she was part of Grasharlo and that she came here, yet even still, her gut told her that this was not the case. She had to shake herself out of it.
Anyway, I have a mission to go on. She had to remind herself. She took her first step on the ground. She frowned as she suddenly felt like she had stepped on flour. She looked down to see that as she pulled her foot back and the place had just stepped on left a bright glowing green print behind. Then to her confusion the ground rose up like her foot had never been there!
She looked at it mildly shocked and became intrigued by this. She was about to put her hand on this but she shook her head and walked on, letting her instinct guide her. She walked on knowing that any ordinary person could easily get lost in this forest. She, after a while, saw the trees part to her left. She walked to the parting and her eyes met a long white path in between maroon grass that looked as each blade reflected like a mirror.
She kept going even though the air was getting thinner and thinner. This soon caused her to feel nauseous which became worse and worse. This also tools her that something bad was going to happen. Like her soul was remembering slithering that her mind was not ready to. She then heard the strange sound that sounded like a cross between a cry of a crow and a vulcher. She turned around to see a flock of strange birds with bright blue feathers and a slim majestic body and silver tallens and a bronze hooked beak and bright pink eyes. Sensing that she was the one that they would be after she started to walk quicker, hoping that they would not notice. It was not until she heard the beat of the wings getting dangerously close to her that she broke out into a run. She knew that they were far more dangerous than any ordinary birds of prey, for she knew who their creator was.
She looked back quickly, already knowing what to expect. She already found herself looking into their big circular eyes as they had locked onto her with a deadly determination that drowned out any and all distractions. She felt her foot fall and she fell onto the white path that felt like rubbery flesh. They farmed to her and drew their tallens in which she gripped. She then used them to pull herself up and off the strange ground. She threw some of them off her which landed on the grass and to her horror they dug into the birds like a blade! Yet this told her what to do. She whacked each of the birds into the grass. She then felt one of the birds dig into her shoulder with it's sharp talents. As she screamed she felt more scratches come again and again. She then felt the burning and her vision became blurry.
These birds are venomous!
She forced herself to focus as she hit bird after bird into the grass. However soon her vision became darker and darker when she hit the last bird all became black and she fell. Loc woke covered in sweat and with the sensation of sinking, yet she instantly found herself suffocating too. her eyes flung open with her vision filled with illuminous green. She tried to pull herself up but whatever she was sinking into was like putting pressure on doe. Doe that she was sinking into and unless she was able to do something very she would, no, she would not die, but she would have a worse fate than that. She could feel that it was encasing itself around her and it was already at her back! Her lungs cried out for air as she struggled to get free. She shook and shook as she tried to get it off her. She could feel that her heartbeat increasing and would have coughed if she could. Yet there was a great pressure in the bridge of her nose as her lips and jaws became pressed together.
She started to see those black stas again as she felt the pressure build. She felt a great power build up within her like it did when she released the elemental shadow. She then released it and let it give way and she heard a bang. Soon she was in a pool of a glowing green liquid. She, to her shock felt the burning yet she knew that it was coming from the strange liquid that she was in. She quickly started to swim, she did that too as quickly as she could. Despite the pain that was going through her she forced her to go on, she will be able to regenerate anything that gets burnt away. She then gripped the edge and pulled herself up.
She, not not wasting any time, got to her feet and ran on the path, even though her chest was wheezy and needed for her to take a break so that they could recover, but she knew that she had no time for her to give into this. She could feel the liquid still burning her and the itching of her healing. She forced herself on and it took all her will to do so.
She soon came to a large castle and knew that this was the place to be. She focused on running to the castle but not on its look. When she reached the doors that looked like bat wings. She closed her eyes and felt that she was commanding them to open and when she opened her eyes she seemed to be already in!
Her breath was rapid and she felt her legs give way underneath her and her lungs felt like they were about to throw up blood. So seeing that the best thing for her to do is to take a moment for her to calm down and regain her lost strength. Her body could still feel the burning, but she could feel that the strange liquid that had dried had stopped burning.
She then looked up to see a set of glowing red eyes and silver teeth. She moved aside to where the neck was.
Get on the back. her thought told her. She lazily swung her arm on the back and climbed on.
Now say…
"Fly me to the truth!"
With that the dragon rose and outstretched its purple wings and flapped. It rose higher and higher until they rose above the castle. She looked down and saw twisted towns that stuck out of the ground at odd angles. They soon landed on the roof of another castle. Beside her was a staircase without any bannister, that descended like a small pit.
She slid herself off the back of the dragon. She then walked calmly to them and started to climb down them. She summoned her flame and found that the stairs led to the middle of a large room. This meant that one wrong move would have her fall off the edge. Her head raised to see a scroll made of gold. Knowing that was where she should go, she walked down to the bottom. She stepped out, she could see a mirror image herself under her feet. She looked down and noticed that it was made from water. She could also spotted that, by the dark colour that the water was deep, very deep. Her gut sank as she spotted that there was a shadow moving in the deep depths.
Oh, hold on, that isn’t what I think that it is!
Yes it is.
How?
Trust me. Say a rhyme to get to the stepping stones. Then walk across like you own the place.
Knowing that the advice was sound she sat there on the stairs and thinking. Looking at the sea serpent as it circled her. She saw that as it did it was getting closer and closer. She closed her eyes to try not to focus too much on that. Yet she could not help but open her eyes and she could see a few details now, like its crimson eyes and its body like that of a gigantic snake and to her horror it was looking directly at her. She knew what it wanted and how to put a stop to that. She forced herself to push that out of her mind, she had to focus. She had to come up with that life saving rhyme!
Stone, bone, cone, drone, no that won’t work. She thought as she went over to other words. Then she got it!
"By my blood and by my bones,
Get me to my stepping stones!" She shouted.
Suddenly reflective circular slabs of black glass rose up. On the surface of each was a Celtic knot that was engaged into it. She knew that she had no time to dwell on the beauty of the rocks. She looked down to see that the sea serpent was so close to her that she felt chill just looking at it. She then looked up and skipped to the first stone she continued as she put on a bravado to signal that she belonged there. She was glad though, had she been a moment too late and she would have known what it would be like to be food going through the digestive system!
She, nor taking any chances, ran along the stepping stones and she noticed that she was getting higher and higher and she was getting closer and closer to the golden scroll. She reached out and took it. She looked back to see that the stairs were gone!
Now what?
Run along the Searent! Call him and run along his back to the top and then reward him by calling the debir flock!
She did not know who Searent was but she knew that she had nothing to lose so she knew what to do.
"Searent!" She shouted.
The sea serpent looked up at her with a look of recognition as he circled her and then waited for the stepping stones to sink. She also felt the stone that she was on also sink. She soon felt the ice cold water fill her shoes. She, despite this, felt strangely calm. She sank further and further until it came to her calf. That was when she felt whip the stepping stone under her feet and push her up. She looked down to see that she was standing on the head of the sea serpent.
So that's Searent.
They rose higher and higher and she was soon out of the room.
"Debir! Reward Searent!" She called as another flock of those birds rose up and raced to them.
Quickly get on Draganna!
Draganna?
The dragon!
Right. She soon was on her back as the swarm came closer and closer. Loc felt her heartbeat increased as they did. She, for a moment tensed up as she wondered what to do next.
Say…
"Draganna get me to the castle!" She shouted.
Draganna looked back and nodded and ran and rose and flew as fast as she could away from the swarm but they were too slow. Part of the flock broke off from the group and were flying right behind! She saw that Searent snapped his jaws at the ones that stayed behind, but the ones that were chasing them were closing in faster than they expected.
"Come on! Go faster!" she shouted.
Draganna looked back and looked shocked and threw a few fireballs at the flock as she flew faster, which caused her hair to be dragged back by the wind. She got chills as the wind brushed against the back of her neck. She then took the inspiration from the dragon and threw her own fireballs at the flock. She, seeing that they were now a safe distance she turned back forward. Yet when she looked around she saw that there was a section of the debir had divided off and were closing in. Knowing that she had to do something before they got too close. She summoned more of her fire and shot fireball after fireball at them, but she was only able to kill three. She did this again and again and now four were dead.
She saw the light ahead. She smiled as she felt her heart lighten as she knew that she was going to leave this freaky pocket world behind her. She then saw that there was the window where Morgan and Ringer were ahead. Draganna flew and broke the mirror that kept the world and the pocket world broke. She then pointed at them.
"There! Get them!" She shouted.
Nodding Draganna looked at them and dived down and plucked them off the ground like a vegetable and they flew to the air yot just in time. However one of them got in as Draganna flew off. She then flew a fireball at it.
"Loc, what was that?" Ringer demanded.
"Are you alright?" Morgan asked. "What is this?"
She was about to touch the green stuff that was on her. Loc caught her wrist.
"Don't, it'll hurt you."
Morgan nodded as she pulled away meanwhile Loc gave it to Ringer.
"What? You didn't want to look first?"
"I didn't want to."
Ringer nodded as he broke the red seal. He opened the scroll. His eyes looked at the silver writing and then he dropped the golden page. He looked at her with rage and anger. Loc felt her heart sink as her fears had been confirmed as he looked at her as if she was dirt.
"What does it say Sir?" She asked, her voice hollow. She suddenly felt like she did not want to know, yet her curiosity was too strong. She bit her lip as she felt the tears come.
"Have a look for yourself!" He said as he kicked the page to her.
She read the scroll and her eyes widened as the years came. She dropped it and felt cold and dirty.
"Sir!"
"N-no, he-he's right to."
"Why, what does it say?"
She tried to control herself as she picked it up.
"I-I'm, Grasharlo, is the daughter of Dark Master Lord Gajellidor Darcrogh! I'm a monster!" She wept as she gave her the page. She looked at her in the eyes.
"No, no. You listen to me Loc, you are not her! You are Loc! Daughter of Megan, my twin and Joseph!" She snapped.
"But I-"
"I don't care! That is not you!" She then turned to Ringer. "Tell her!"
"No, she is right. Oh I have been such a fool! Emotion of Grasharlo from now on, you will be my prisoner and you will never leave my headquarters. Do you understand?" He ordered.
She nodded.
"Tell me at least this at least, will this help defeat my sisters and avenge their deaths?" She asked, not even feeling worthy of calling her parents, her parents.
"That is none of your concern any longer." He said as they flew off.
WW
The flock of debir flew and explored the new world that they had found themselves in. Some found a murder of crows, others a conspiracy of ravens, others found a Parliament of magpies and bread with them. They were called the decroth, derraeth and the depieth and they were worse that their parents…
