The Sorrowful Rebel Chapter Three The Promising Rebel

The Sad Mission

Loc woke up at the usual early hour. She got up and looked at her hand. She tried to spark her flame but as per usual, she could not. She continued to do it again and again, but nothing. She just could not understand it. She could feel that she was on the edge of summoning it but she knew that she would not be summoning it any time soon. She tried it again and again but she kept on failing. She let out a sigh as she took her shower. Then she soon dried herself.

She put her black and purple tracksuit on and then walked out of the room. She quickly made her way to the library. She knew that it was far too early for breakfast and she was not going to go back to sleep. As she had a nightmare of her sisters electrocuting her in that chair. She shivered as she thought of Lamia cutting her hair as the electricity ran throughout her body. She soon arrived and her eyes were buried in the pages. She could feel her mind become calm as it became lost in the books.

Electrical conductors? Wonder if this will help…

Electrical conductors are metal,

Water…

"I knew that you would be here!" Spoke Wolf Raven.

She looked up.

"Hi. How did you know?"

"You always come here before breakfast."

"Oh."

"Hey. Notice anything interesting?" He asked giving her a blue coloured drink.

The moment that it touched her tongue she could taste blueberries and cherry.

"Thank you!" She exclaimed.

"You're welcome. Now back to the question."

"Yes the Evil Emperor, he seems to have no picture nor is there even a hint of what he looks like. After all, all books that are on the Evil Emperor just describe all of the things that he has done. Yet nothing on what he looks like. Not even his name. Nothing!"

His eyes lit up as they widened.

"You know, I never noticed that! No wonder the team that is on uncovering his identity is having such trouble!"

"Yes. Well you should expect that there would be something here that gives us a clue to what he looks like."

"And why do you think that?"

"Well, he's either shy, which I doubt, kills those that have seen him, he's erased all mention of what he looks like or, the least likely, he doesn't exist."

His eyebrows raised at that.

"And which do you think it is?"

She frowned as she drank another gulp.

"Can't be the last. After all, there is far too much evidence of his existence. As for the first, as I said, I hardly think an evil guy like that would be shy. So I think that it is a mix between two and three."

His eyes widened as an impressed smile appeared.

"And why do you think that would be?"

She frowned as she took her time to think of the words she wanted to say.

"Good question. I think that I would like to think more about that one for a bit more." She admitted, feeling shy.

"Then keep at it. I think that you will come to the answer eventually."

"Yeah…I think so too."

"Speaking of which, have you been able to use your pyrokinesis yet?" Light Bringer asked, walking up to them and stopping beside Wolf Raven.

She sighed.

"No! Though I do feel that I am on the verge of it. I can feel it, but I think that there might be an extra step to it. I just need to figure out what."

"Well I think that you will get it in time. But you need to join your team for breakfast."

She nodded as she closed the book. The next moment she found herself eating with her team. Yet as she ate, her mind was swarming with all that she had discussed.

Why? Why would he hide his identity like that! Was it that he wanted a bit of privacy?

No. Not likely.

Or maybe it is to catch people like this place off guard?

"What are you thinking about?" To Break asked.

"Nothing, just something that I noticed while I was reading all those books."

"And that is?"

"There is no clue or hint of a description of what the Evil Emperor looks like. No pictures, nothing on his identity."

They all looked at her shocked.

"No wonder the team that is on finding him is having a hard time!"

They soon ate their food.

"Team Sorrow, please come to Light Bringer's office as soon as you have had your breakfast."

"Looks like the boss wants us."

"I hope it's a good mission."

"Me too."

They soon made their way to the office.

"Right, I have a mission for you. I want you to destroy this weapons factory." He explained, passing a file over to her.

She opened it and looked down.

"It seems that it is one of the top factories so it should take your time to get in. So I will give you time to plan and come back once you have a good plan."

She looked at him and nodded.

The Plan

Loc looked at the map of the area, it was a large land mass with the factory in the centre. She commited it to memory and the blueprints too which were of all of the levels. She looked back at the map which gave a more detailed look of the factory. She analysed every little piece to look for a good point to get in. She looked at the map and the blueprints again and again. Then, after a while, she noticed it! There was a pipe they could fit through that led directly to the lowest level of the factory.

"We will enter from here."

"What if there are guards there? After all, it is a critical weak point." To Break pointed out.

She took a moment to think but then looked back down.

"Then I will go in first, but I do have to ask, Light Bringer, do you have information on the guards and where they're positioned?"

"Yes."

"And do you have any of the guard's uniforms?'

"Yes. Lodes, why?"

"Then you will all wear one and that way if there are any guards posted there we can easily pretend to be one and pretend to take me in."

"Okay?"

"Once we are in, then we will make our way here." She said as she pointed to the centre.

"What?!"

"It says dangerous liquid. So I'm guessing that it's flammable so that will amplify the explosion."

"And then?"

"Once the bomb is in place, we set off the fire alarm and escape during the chaos."

"Well that is a good plan. So where is the best place to come off the bus?" Life asked.

She looked at the map again and then the blueprints and the pipe.

Good question. Where would be the best place?

That field?

Nah, too exposed!

What about the road near the edge of that forest?

"There."

Light Bringer looked at it and smiled, completely impressed.

"So how will you get out?"

"Well we try a…urm…what's that thing that looks like a bus, just smaller?"

"A car."

"Can anyone here use one of those?"

At this they all snickered like children.

"Yeah! Who can't?"

"Ahh! I can't! Now, Life for that you're driving!"

She let out a huff.

"Walked right into that one, didn't I?"

"Yup!"

"Alright!"

"So is that your plan?"

"Yes."

"Then Team Sorrow, time to put it in action!" Light Bringer exclaimed, clapping once.

Fallen Stronghold

They soon arrived at the location and walked up to the tunnel, only to find that there was not a guard in sight! She looked around again and again, just to be sure. Only to find none. She frowned.

Wonder why there are no guards? Maybe they have forgotten about this weak point. Either they don't want to be anywhere near this place or can't be bothered.

To Open looked at the single padlock and already was onto picking it as the rest of them all stood guarding her as she worked. All of them looked out for anyone or anything coming. Soon she was done. The moment that they walked in they could smell the intoxicating scent of oil, urine and dung. This told them all they needed to know. Yet she knew that they would all have to grin and bear it as they walked in further and further. She walked in the front, ready to ensure the others would know if there were any traps when she spring them.

"Hey!"

She looked back to catch something. She looked down to see a strange mask. It was like the face of some strange bug, like a fly. She looked at the back to see buckles at the back and she could see out of where the eyes were. She looked at them confused as the others put on theirs.

"Put it on. It should protect you from all the poisonous gases." Distant Battle explained.

"There are poisonous gases?"

"Poisonous air."

"What?"

Since when can the air kill someone?

"Yes. There are gases that are air that can cause all kinds of negative things!"

"Oh."

How would that do anything?

Well there have been times in my world where people would go to a place and die from mysterious ways. Like they would cough and die. Yet despite it all upon further analysis of the places there was not a drop of magic anywhere near there. Maybe that is where the poisonous gases are?

"And what is this supposed to do?"

"Clear the air."

"How?"

"Never mind. Just put it on. We do have a mission to do. We will explain all of that after."

She did and walked on. She looked down at the map. She could see that the gas mask was limiting her sight. She had to move her head down a little just to see it. Yet then she saw beneath her feet a mixture of dead bugs, mice and rats. All had empty eye sockets regardless of what stage of decomposure they were in.

So this is what poisonous gases can do! Very creepy. She thought with a shudder running down her spine.

Upon a closer look, the mice and rats looked like the victims of those places where people died without magic. She walked on, taking a few glances at the map every now and again. Mainly to see where they were.

"Are we at the place yet?"

"No. According to the map we are close."

"Good."

They soon walked on and on. She looked down at the map before they came to a plain steel door with no door knob.

This can not be the only way in. But if there is then where are they?

"To Break, To Open, can you get this door open?"

"Should be."

They looked all around the doorway. They looked at the door itself. Then they looked at the edges where the door and the doorframe met. They then To Open saw the hinges on the left of the doorframe She pulled at the small hinges revealing a set of rubber buttons. She looked over to To Break and he nodded. He pulled out a knife and used the tip as a screwdriver. He soon pulled away the pad and exposed a group of wires. He cut a few of them. He then pulled on a pair of rubber gloves and pulled at some of the wires. He twisted the metal with another wire. Then he pulled at one and the door opened.

That was when Loc pushed them all to the side as a shower of bullets opened up. Loc ran in. She felt the pain of the bullets as they hit her. She bit her lip as the itching came. She then fell as she felt more and more bullets dig into her body.

Get back up! Get back to! You have nothing to fear. You are immortal after all!

She forced herself back into her feet. She put one foot forward after the other. She raised her gun and remembered what would happen if she failed, and fired. She aimed at the feet, still not wanting to kill them. She then saw more bullets come and they all hit them.

"Move it!"

"What?"

"You heard, we're all here to get you in."

Then someone walked up to them. She was just one random woman. She saw what was happening and gripped her arms.

"What are you?"

"Go! Get out of here!" Loc shouted.

She nodded as she ran out of the room. The rest followed her and ran up the stairs. Then they came to the room.

"Now run out of the factory."

She nodded as she left the room.

Soon she pulled out the bomb and gave it to Distant Battle. He soon set it then Loc got the fire alarm.

Soon the whole place was put on red alert! Loc all spotted that all of them were racing to the exit like a flock of sheep. They then looked back to see the door behind only to find that it was cut off. Leaving the only one option. They opened the door and ran into the crowd. Then they all felt the ice cold shower. Then Loc smelt it and her blood turned cold.

How could they do this? Why would they do that?

"Sulphur! We have to get out of here! We have to get out of there now!"

They looked at her and sniffed. They felt their heads race as they all ran to the doors as fast as they could. Only for them to close. Then they felt something hit their back and they flung into the walls. Loc looked To Break and To Open. Their hands were tightly joined and gipping the other for dear life.

"Can you-"

"Yes!"

They started to get to work. Loc looked back to see that there was nothing but a fire behind them. She saw the mass of burning bodies. Their eye sockets were a burning void as flames replaced their glowing eyes.

"They-"

"Yeah. I know!"

"All of you, are you alright?"

"Yeah!"

They all shouted as they were out of the doors and ran as fast and as far as they could. Then the whole thing blew off. Loc felt her blood run colder and she started to feel nauseous.

So this is the kind of enemy that we are dealing with…

Home

Loc felt extremely tired as she finished her report before taking a shower. This made her feel even more tired. She then flopped into her warm bed and was asleep before she knew it. She soon woke at a late hour in the morning, took a shower and put on a new set of clothes that was identical to the last. Then tidied up and straightened out the pages. She then took the report to Light Bringer.

"What is next?"

"Well you like to keep busy, don't you?"

"I prefer to do work."

"Nah! Not today. You can take it easy and enjoy the day. It isn't good to overwork yourself."

She let out a huff as she tried to calm herself down. He then placed a hand on her shoulder. Trying to keep herself calm she smiled.

"Celebrate for all that you've done, you have earned it!"

"I don't think so. I'm just making up for past mistakes."

"Nonsense! You have not done this out of your own heart. Not out of guilt."

She frowned and looked down.

Just ask the question that you want.

"Tell me. Is there a way to get home? I mean break to my world?"

He frowned.

"I don't know, maybe…Just keep looking in those books! I'm sure that you may find what you're looking for."

"Th-"

"Do it after you've had something to eat and celebrated. Also have a bit of fun! It isn't good to dedicate yourself to something and forget to enjoy yourself."

"What?"

He smiled as Wolf Raven came in.

"He's right. You need to live or you will become bitter. Believe me! Days will feel like weeks, weeks will feel like months and months will arm like years. Also it's good to have a good laugh. It helps ease the weight of fear and oppression on your chest."

She looked down.

"Alright."

He's right.

"I will."

She found herself in the dining hall and the moment that she did, all drinks were raised.

"To Loc!" They all chanted raising their glass.

"W-what?"

Then she was greeted by people clapping. A game pulled her in before she could react. She felt arms wrap themselves around her. Some clapped her back and others shook her hands. One dragged her head in and rubbed her head with their knuckle. Others dragged her to their groups to talk to her.

"I can't believe that you are able to blow up two weapon's factories!"

"Yeah! You must be a genius!"

"Get that woman a drink! She deserves it!"

She felt a drink in her hand before she knew it.

"Come on! Drink up!"

She looked at it and took a sip. It had a strange taste to it, she could taste the sweetness but there was another, more mature taste to it. She did not know whether or not she liked it but after a few more drinks sure came to the conclusion that she did, even though she preferred a fruit tea. It was at this moment that she realised that she was a woman now. She was no longer a child, she had grown up. Grown up and surrounded by people who treated her not like a bomb that was about to explode, but like she was one of them.

"So you like it?"

"Yeah, but I guess that this is a taste that you just have to get used to before you end up loving it."

"I can't believe it! Someone finally put it into words!"

She let out a giggle. She realised that she had not let one of those out in a long time. In fact, she could not recall the last time she had laughed like that.

No. I'm going to take Light Bringer and Wolf Raven's advice and enjoy this moment.

She breathed in and out to calm herself. Then took a step forward and took a vibe and ate it as she then found herself talking to many random people. Some told her cheesy jokes that she did not get, meanwhile others wanted to know all about her world and how it differs from their own. She found herself talking to a point that she knew that she needed to take a break so she left in the middle of the afternoon.

She, wanting some quiet time, walked to the library. She opened the book op that she was on and tuned to the chapter after she had read.

The search for the one from another world has

led us to the famous Gajellidor Temple where

I discovered a shard of one of the reality spheres.

This, I hope will lead me to the one that is

destined to take me down. Wherever that person

is I hope fate will not let me down this time as

it has done before.

Her eyes widened.

The reality spheres! Why did I not think about it earlier?! I am such an idiot! That will do it! That, I know, will take me home. Yet according to this the Evil Emperor has it!

Well in that case, all the more reason to take him down!

Moved To A Smaller Base

Loc woke up at an early hour as per usual. She gave herself a good shower and cleaned her hair thoroughly before she dried herself. She put on her usual shirt. She was about to go to the library before she was approached by Light Bringer.

"Good morning, Loc."

"Good morning sir. Just call me Light Bringer."

"Alright, good morning Light Bringer."

"Good."

"Honestly, you're just like Wolf Raven."

He let out a chuckle.

"Could you come with me?"

"Sure."

They both walked to his office faster than normal. Which was something that Loc could not complain about whatsoever. After all, the faster they walked, the faster that she could get on a mission. Which had started to excite her despite the pain and the possibility of capture.

"I want to transfer you to a smaller base."

She frowned.

Why does he want me to be moved to a smaller base? Is it that I need help with my leadership skills? Maybe, after all, this is probably the first time that I have had such a position. Which is why I can not allow myself  to let these people down.

"What about my team? Will they be coming?"

"No."

This caused her frown to deepen.

"Right, and why do you want me there and not my team?"

"They have been having trouble with their missions there so I think a bit of morale would do them good. As for your team, they're still nursing their hangover."

"Right."

Then it came to her.

"But that's not the real reason, is it?"

He shook his head.

"No, I'm afraid not. Also, I don't just want you to help with their mission, but get to the bottom as to why they have been having a great deal of failing missions. Also, your face and name are both all over the planet, so expect trouble."

She nodded.

"Also, I know that you will not be able to get there on your own, which is why you will be escorted."

"By the way, I found a way."

"What?"

"To get home. I found a way to get home."

"Oh? Well good." He replied off guard.

"Yeah. I found it in the library."

He frowned.

"It seems that once you return, we may discuss this, and in full. Wolf Raven, are you ready?"

"Yes." He said from behind them.

"Then good luck to the pair of you."

"What?" Asked Loc, caught off guard as she noticed that his neck was strong and his jaw was very distinct.

"I will be your escort."

"Right."

"We thought that it would be best if there was a small party to get you there. The smaller the better and there's none I trust more than any right now than my right hand man!" He said, smiling, putting a hand on their shoulders.

"Now Loc, are you ready?"

"Urm…does it matter?"

He chuckled.

"No. But come."

She followed him to a small van.

"Here, I can tell that you have not had any breakfast." He said as he gave her a bar.

She took it.

"Thank you."

"Don't mention it."

She opened it and bit into the light blue bar. It tasted like blueberry muffins and dark chocolate.

"Wow, that's good!"

"Knew that you would like it."

She took another bite as she climbed into the van. They were soon on the road. When they were on the main road Loc spotted a car driving up to them. She soon spotted another coming from behind. Then one drove by and turned to the front and started to drive at a slower pace. Then the one at the back started to bump at the back. The two were thrust forward slightly. Loc looked back then looked down. Then there was another bump. She used her abbs to keep herself sturdy. Then she waited for another bump.

One, two, three.

Bump.

One, two, three.

Bump.

Her hand rested on the wheel.

One, two, three.

Bump.

One, two, three!

She pulled left and the car that was behind was forced forward. They were driving next to them. She then drove back right. As they drove, she could feel the tension building that none could afford to break. That was when the driver drove left and started to reverse. Wolf Raven then reversed too but faster. This caused the other car to be driven into the other car that was next to them. She then spun the car and reached the other car causing them both to be driven off the road. Both then flipped and followed down the hill. Then they were able to drive on.

"Good work!"

"You too."

They drove on and she soon finished the bar.

"So what is this place?"

"The new base?"

"Yes."

He smiled sweetly.

"Well there are a lot less people there and they are an alright bunch. Although they are not as competent. Which is why we are going there."

"I can imagine."

Competence is extremely needed in causes like this.

They soon came to the small ship. They both climbed out of the van. They looked at the ship, which was high and long and wide. She could see that this was a storage ship.

"Maden, let us in!"

She looked down and nodded to her. Her skin was pale pink and golden yellow eyes with silver horns.

"You must be Loc."

"Yes."

She opened the door and they walked in. Inside they both walked to the back container. They crouched and they then waited. Soon they felt the strange large metal box rise. Then landed with a shudder.

Now the long and tricky part.

Try keeping as quiet as possible.

This gave her time to think. Mostly to distract herself from things. She thought about what she would do once all this was over. She knew that she wanted to go and look for the shard of the reality sphere here. She also knew that this would be the best way forward for her. This would give her a slim chance to get back, but it was still a chance nevertheless.

But what if I end up in another world that is not my own? Then I will explore it and find out if there is another price there. If there is then I will go after that. But what if that too is another world that isn't my own? Then I will do this again and again until I finally do get to my home world.

Then she heard a man open the door. She knew by the rocking of the sea that this was not where they should get off.

Suddenly her fear shot up as she knew the moment that they were spotted, it would all be over. She knew that she may not die, but she knew that was most likely to open herself up to a worse fate. A life of endless torture came to mind.

She found her hand gripping Wolf Raven's tightly and closed her eyes to calm herself down.

Don't see us! Don't see us! Don't see us!

He stroked her hand with his thumb. This helped keeped her calm.

"Nah! Nothing's here!"

"So it looked like our tip was off!"

"Wey off!"

He let out a sigh.

"What a waste of time!" He said as he closed the doors.

Loc opened her eyes. She let out a shaky but silent sigh. Yet she felt strangely exhausted as she felt her adrenaline kicked in. She felt Wolf Raven wrap an arm around her. This caused her to notice that his arm was as firm as a wall and as comfortable as a cushion.

"Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah."

"Did you hear what he said?"

"Yeah, we have a traitor in our midst."

"So be vigilant?"

"Be vigilant."

After a while the box moved from the ship and felt they were still on the road. Then they heard three knocks.

"We're here."

They soon walked out of the box and jumped upon the grass. She looked at the single building in the centre of a forest and grass. It had two floors. One floor was for sleeping and on the side was a hall. With a small kitchen at the top.

"Wolf Raven! How have you been?" Asked a man with bronze skin and red eyes and black horns.

"Broken Chain."

He looked at Loc and raised his eyebrow.

"Is this Loc?"

She shook his hand.

"Yes. And we need to talk."

The Mission There

Loc woke up feeling very cold. She may not have been shivering but she knew that she was close to it. She got up and took an ice cold shower and soon was refreshed and awake. She put her clothes on which helped warm her up. She left the room shivering and was soon in the café room. Which was smaller and had one single table in the middle of the room and a row of chairs surrounding it. There was one single exposed light bulb at the top in the centre.

She looked over to Wolf Raven, who was shivering, just like her.

"A-are you c-cold t-too?"

"Yes."

"Right you two there is a small weapons storage that we need to get some weapons from."

They nodded. Yet Wolf Raven frowned and leaned in close to him.

"Well, if it's weapons that you need, then why not send a message to Light Bringer?"

"Too risky."

He nodded slowly.

"I also think that it would be a good idea to get some heating formula in too. The cold can not be good for the rebellion here."

He nodded as his eyes looked aside.

"Riiight, then we'll have a team on too."

"Be sure you do. After all, you know where the firecrys is and you know how to get it!"

Broken Chain let out a groan and waved his hand back and forward.

"We will set off on the mission immediately. I also think we should have a map of the area and a car, was it?" She asked as she looked at Wolf Raven.

"Yeah."

He took out a map and gave it to the pair.

"I will-"

"No. I think we should do this on our own. That way, we will see if we need to work on everybody else's incompetence."

"But-"

"No. Now I think that we will be off."

They soon left and on the road.

"You sure it's wise for us to go out alone?"

"Yes."

She nodded. They drove off in silence and they soon arrived at a small building that had ten guards surrounding the building.

"Why are there so little guards here?" She whispered.

"It is to minimise the attention here. It's one of the Evil Emperor's tactics."

"And why is the building so small?"

"Most of the levels are underground."

"Which must mean that there might be more guards inside."

"Possibly." Wolf Raven replied with an interesting smile upon his lips.

"Then let's go."

Loc took her gun out and hit one before she allowed herself time to think. Yet she only maimed him. Which gave her a sense of relief Then Wolf Raven then raised his gun and killed him on the spot. She felt a ripple of anger run throughout her.

"Why?"

"They will be killed anyway. After all, you have seen what they do to their injured."

She felt her heart go out to them. She remembered the guard that was killed by his own.

Looks like I have to think about which it is better to be killed by. Better to be killed by a foe than a friend.

"So, remember, when you shoot one, you shoot to kill."

She nodded as she still did not feel comfortable as she looked at the others just in time. She saw that one of them was about to kill Wolf Raven and she shot at him before he took the kill. Wolf Raven fired at two and she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again. She hit two more. Then he ran to the side and fired, taking out the last four within one shot.

She looked for the camaras but seeing that there were none, they ran on and arrived at the gate. She looked down at the lock. Suddenly she wished that her team were here, To Open would have had that lock picked within minutes. Then Wolf Raven took out a lock picking set. He then soon started to work upon picking it.

"Didn't know you could do that!"

"Well you will find I'm full of surprises!"

Soon the chain dropped.

"Well done!"

He smiled and nodded.

"Quiet! Now come on. I'm feeling a bit too cold."

They soon ran in. They looked aside to the right to see that this was a base of three floors of weapons. Her eyes rolled as they quickly loaded them all into the boot of the car. They did this and again and again until the entire boot and all seats were all loaded with all the weapons they could collect. They drove back and put them into a box before returning to reload the car. They drove back and this again and again until the base had the guns.

They both felt hungry and walked into the hall and ate green cubes that were softer than the ones Loc had eaten before. It tasted like a strong mint that cleared the nose and a sweet wine. It not only filled her but she could feel like it was quenching her thirst too. Once they were finished, they were called to the war room. They quickly came to it.

"Right, I have another mission for you. You remember that you mentioned getting some heating formula?"

"Yes."

"A team of mine have found some, and I would like you to be paired up with Isle Of Apples to collect it."

She saw a woman with green skin with red eyes and yellow horns and nodded.

"Are you the one from another world?" She asked.

"Yes. Now, are you ready?"

"Urm.."

"Doesn't matter. Come on!"

She nodded. They soon left and were at the base an hour later. There were twenty there this time. They all slammed flat against the bottom of the car.

"How-"

Wolf Raven drove to them.

"Here!"

They were both given a gun each. They then ran down to the window. She poked up and fired at one. Isle Of Apples took their example and fired at another. They all fired again and again. One fired at her. She dived back and waited until all the gunfire was all her.

"Both of you, get in now!"

They did and Wolf Raven turned and ran the rat over with the car. Soon they left the car and the car. He then picked the lock. They all slammed aside to see six guards at either end. They ran with their guns. Both good six bullets as they circled and returned to Wolf Raven's side.

"Good girls!"

They then ran on. There was a staircase led down. The moment that they were the bottom, they then came to a and they opened it and ran to the other end. Only to see a door behind another set of stairs leading down. Knowing that they had nothing else to do, they took the amber formula. They left the base and soon they returned and the whole base was enjoying a bit of heat.

"Now, the last mission of the day is for you to type your report."

"'Type'?"

"Writing on a computer."

"'Computer'?"

He rolled his eyes.

"I will teach you."

Soon he taught her that she needed to know. However, during this time she found herself enjoying him teaching her this. She found herself listening to his voice. She liked how it helped soothe her and she felt like she could belong to this strange world. She was soon typing away and did this until she finished. By that time, her stomach was begging to be filled. She printed it all off and handed it in. Once she had she ate the green cubes and flipped into bed.

The Force Station

Loc had barely been able to wake up properly when she heard a loud bang. She barely was able to get up and out of bed when she felt something in her neck. Then she fell back in the bed as she lost feeling in her body. She then found that she could not move. Try as she might, she could not get anything to move, not even one inch. She could not even move her fingers or even her eyes. The only thing that she could move was her lungs to breathe and her ever increasing heartbeat. She felt fingertips close her eyes.

What? What is going on? Why can't I move? Why is this happening? Have we been sold out? If so then who? Who sold us out? Why, why did they sell us out? Are we not on the same team? If not then why? What could they have possibly offered that became so irresistible to take up? Was it riches? Or were they not even part of this to begin with?

She then felt a needle in her arm and soon moments later her thoughts started to slip away. It was as if there was a mind numbing wall between her and her thoughts. She tried to fight against it and focus her thoughts but there seemed to be fog. She could do nothing but lie there and wait for them to do whatever it was that they had planned to do to her. Even if that was simply to take her away.

"Thank you, Broken Chain. You will be rewarded well for this." Said a voice.

"Do you think that she's harmless now?"

"Yes."

"But she's the-"

"Yes. I know. I read the report."

"But how?"

"Just take her away!"

She felt herself being carried and soon the ice hit her like icy darts all over her. She would have shivered if she could move. She felt them rest her on her back as she felt other people underneath her. Yet she could not quite tell who they all were. Just that she was the last one that they needed to take. Then she felt the van go.

She felt the heat wrap itself around her. Yet as the ride went on she felt like she was becoming hotter and hotter. In fact she knew that the ones beneath her would have started to overheat and, if they did not turn down the temperature, they would probably die of overheating. She could start to smell something off too. However she could feel her mind and the warmth dull her emotions. All she could do was enjoy the vibrations of the van. She felt herself getting tireder and tireder and she soon slipped back into sleep.

In the next moment she felt an ice cold splash of water shock her. Her eyes flicked open as her mind became as sharp as a blade. She looked around for anything that she could use to get her bearings. However upon seeing nothing but a seemingly endless void around her, she knew that would take quite some time. Then she felt there was something around her neck. Then she felt the dampness around her and soon panic set in as she realised that there was something covering her head!

"Where am I? Tell me, where am I?" She gasped as she could feel her lungs gasping for more and more air.

"A place called the Force Station." Said a man beside her ear.

"And why am I here?" She asked, already knowing just how stupid the question was.

They then burst out laughing.

Clearly that worked.

"What does-"

Suddenly she felt the lightning run throughout her body. She could not think because the pain had overridden her ability to think. She felt herself scream and scream as she felt the pain increase and increase. Like she was being stabbed by needles all over her body and inside her body too. Yet as soon as it ended, she only had time to pant before she felt more and more of the pain. She found herself screaming and screaming at the top of her lungs. Then it became worse and worse. She could feel heat all around her. Then it stopped and she panted before she felt another tsunami of pain run throughout her body. Now it felt like all her body was being pierced by needles that were all red hot. Soon her throat became sore and even her screams started to torture her.

Then they stopped. The bag was removed. She would have been glad of the fresh air if her throat did not feel like they were on fire.

"We are here to make you pledge allegiance to our Nameless Emperor." She heard one say, but she was far too delirious to know who.

Here we go again!

"Never! Not after all that I have seen!" She croaked as she could feel her voice failing her.

She then felt a needle enter her arms and she felt another two in her thighs and calves. Her body became limp and her mind became numb again. She felt more and more and her mind became lost to her and drool flowed down her chin like a slow moving waterfall. She then found herself losing track of time. She could no longer tell if it was day or night. Then she felt the pain but she could not cry out. Yet she felt tears run down her cheeks.

"There, there now." He said playing with her hair.

Yet, despite wanting nothing more than to give this man a punch, she felt subdued somehow. Almost like something was broken in her. She knew that she should have snapped at him or done something, but she didn't have the energy. She felt less like a human of independence and more like a doll. All she could do was sit there as her tormentor played with and stroke her hair like she was his dog.

"Now, will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He slapped her.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

Another slap, this time it was two.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

Three slaps.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He slapped her harder

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He slapped her harder twice.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He slapped her harder thrice.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He punched her.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He punched her twice.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He punched her thrice.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He punched her harder.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

He punched her twice with the same strength.

"Will you pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor?"

"No."

This time it was thrice.

Then she felt the electric shock run throughout her body. She was soon blinded by the pain but she knew that she could not give in for one second. She had to ensure it, she had to push past the blinding pain no matter what. She could not allow herself to cry or give him any kind of satisfaction of knowing this was getting to her. No, she would have to do all she could to ensure it.

"No." She panted the moment it was over.

Then another shock ran throughout her body.

"N-"

She felt another shock run throughout her body before she could even finish.

"No."

She felt it again. Yet she knew that it was worse this time. Yet she had to ensure it, even though her body was starting to twitch uncontrollably.

"No!"

Then all went black.

"Alright. Then I guess it looks like you will be heading to the Slave Base. There, you will be until you feel that you are ready to pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor."

"Then I-I will be there for a long time." She taunted, barely able to hold onto her consciousness.

Then she felt another shock run throughout her body and all went black.

The Slave Base

Loc could feel she was back on the road. Her wrists and ankles were in chains. She could feel a needle in her arms. She looked at the others but did not register them. In fact, her mind registered very little as long as that strange liquid was in her vanes and coursing throughout her body, taking away her ability to move. It was as if she was dreaming even though she knew that she was awake.

Then she felt the vehicle stop. She knew that she had arrived. They opened the doors at the back and the first thing she saw was the high stone wall with barbed wire at the top. Then she saw the arch that led to an underground tunnel. It was a dark orange colour.

They wheeled her out the moment the gate dropped. She was picked up and forced to walk forward. She noticed that she was being pulled by a coat with bubbles at the end of the coat. As she did, she had a strange thought in her loopy state of mind.

Why don't I use my fire?

She looked down and focused the heat to her hand but as always, it did not work. She tried this again, but to no avail. She knew that she was doing it right, but it was still not working. So she walked, almost like she was on autopilot, she tried again and again. She could feel the warmth but no fire. Yet as she walked on she could no longer focus on that as her hips and thighs started to ache. In fact, everything seemed to be aching. Yet even though her face had long since healed, that too was aching.

How long do I have to go?

She looked up to see that they had a long way to go. As she looked back she saw the others at the base. She saw that they were more tired than she was. Despite hitting an orange and red crystal. Then putting them in a car and some were pulling them on.

Maybe it's because of all the training. Or all the walking I had to do in the academy. After all, that place was very big. Yeah, it was…I wonder how big it really was. Why was it so big anyway? It couldn't have been down to all of the teachers or the classes that were in there.

Does it matter? Won't be setting that ever again. No. Not while I'm stuck here.

That was when the first one dropped. She took him by the hand and pulled him up. She walked with him as they walked. Then they were all divided and stripped. They were squirted with water and cleaned as if they were dogs. They put yellow overalls on them and an orange collar was placed around their necks. Then the needle was ripped, painfully from their arms.

She walked to a mining chamber and she was taken to a stool and was given a rock and a table with a sack next to the table.

"Break the stones." One said.

She sat down and hammered the rock, only for it to break and reveal a crystal inside with an orange centre with a scarlet exterior. Almost like fire.

"How beautiful."

They all chuckled.

"What? Never seen firecrys before?"

"No."

"Well, continue to break them, you will know what they do soon enough."

"Whenever is that?" She asked sarcastically.

"Ask me when the sack is full."

"Fine!"

She took another rock and then hammered it. She then put them in the sack and then took out another and broke it. She put the pieces into the sack. She then picked out another and then hammered it and put the pieces into the sack. At first she did not think of it but as she continued, she broke stone after stone after stone, she started to wonder what it did. She knew that she did not have the luxury of being able to ask, so she broke stone after stone. Then the sack was full.

"Now what?"

"Put it in that freezer over there." He said, pointing to a freezer on a set of rail tracks.

She picked up the sack.

"Careful. Hold it in your arms and don't let them rub too much against each other."

She nodded as she placed it in the freezer. Then she walked back.

"Now what?"

"Get back to work."

She nodded.

She sat down and hammered one after the other. She repeated this again and again. Then she noticed that there was a deviation in the heat. She found that the room was getting hotter and hotter as she broke stone after stone. She started to sweat as she hammered and hammered, getting more and more of the firecrys off. Yet that was not the only thing that she noticed, her arms were starting to ache. Her hands had become dry and had plenty of cuts in them that were healing. Yet she could not allow herself to focus upon the itching coming from them.

Then, after a while, she felt her stomach growl. Part of her knew that would have to fill it soon or she would make a mistake. It became so bad that she was about to open her mouth to say, but her pride stopped her. She continued on and on, enduring her hunger the entire time. Then her hunger and arms and hands soon became unbearably painful.

She was about to take a break but then she felt the strike of a whip. This caused herself to force herself on and on and on. Yet she was determined not to give in and give any of them the satisfaction of another whip. Then she passed out.

When she woke it was night. She looked up at the maroon sky, filled with tiny stars. She looked at her hands. They were covered in blood as the firecrys shards scattered her palms and fingers. Her mind went over to the star Mortyamikira.

I wonder how many people it has killed by now? Where is it at the moment? Who cares? You will never be able to find out or stop it for that matter. In fact I don't think that I will ever see it ever again. Or anyone else from my world.

True. Maybe I deserve this. After all the things that I did as Grasharlo. I hardly want to think about all the horrible things that I did.

But I am not that anymore!

Maybe after Mortyamikira, I do!

But that was not my fault!

Does it matter?

She then looked at her hand. She then tried to summon a flame again, but all that she could do was produce a bit of heat to her ice cold hands. She tried to see just how long she could endre it, but she started to get sleepy before she could find out.

Then suddenly she felt something and she suddenly became awake. She was led to a room and smashed rock after rock. The temperature rose and rose. Yet as she did, she could not help but become painfully aware of her hunger. She forced herself inwards until her arms and hands twitched. Her stomach became so painful that she could have sworn that something was in there, eating it.

"Alright, eat this."

He gave her a black cube. She then took a bite. To her, it did not matter if it was poisoned. It tasted like vinegar and alcohol. She pulled a face, yet she knew better than to let it get the better of her. Yet despite the grim taste, she ate it until she finished. She then had to focus on pushing through the terrible aftertaste.

Then as she worked her hand slipped and a small shard dug itself into the heel of her hand. Yet she had to continue and did all that she could not to show the pain and she slipped several more times. Soon more small shards of firecrys embedded itself into her hand.

She did this until she passed out again. She woke up in her ice cold cell. She looked down at her, still twitching, arms and hands. She, wanting to keep her hands warm, went through the motions of summoning her fire. Then she felt a burning pain in her hands. She knew that it did not come from her blisters. Then she smelt the scent of smoke.

Her eyes dropped and a smile spread across her lips. Her eyes widened as she saw the flames dancing around her hands, coming from the firecrys in her hands. Fire coming from the firecrys! She stayed there, looking at the flames until her eyes closed. By that time hope had started to rise up within her and lit a fire in her which soon became an inferno. She now had a plan in place.

The Other Teams

Loc woke up. It was her third day. She looked at her hands, already knowing what was to do. She was ready and she not only had hope but fire in her eyes. Though she still had the painful hunger in her stomach, it seemed strangely, less painful. Yet she knew that she would have to experience more pain but it meant that she had a shot, which made the pain worth it. She would have to push past the pain in her hands and stomach and get up as the door opened.

"You're awake early! If I didn't know any better I would say that you would be too pledge your allegiance to the Nameless Emperor!" He laughed.

She put a sigh, knowing that what she was about to say would earn a strike, yet she was determined to say it nevertheless. After all, she knew that she was feeling too spiteful to care about what pain that it would bring.

"Dunno. Maybe I'm liking it here."

She felt the strike across her temple. Felt a sting on her left side. This was followed by blood falling on her overalls. She had to bite her lip as the itching soon followed. She forced herself up and grabbed her hands behind her hands, to stop herself from scratching. She let her eyes become passive as she looked down and let out a sigh.

"Sorry! Just an outburst of pride!" She sang passively.

He nodded.

"It better be!"

She soon was led to the room. Part of her had to prepare herself for all that she would have to put up with and the pain that she would have to force herself to experience. She sat in her stool and broke rock after rock. While she did this, she made sure that more and more firecrys shards stabbed themselves into her skin as much as she could. She had to grit her teeth as she broke rock after rock and more and more segment stuff themselves into her skin. She had to push herself on through the torturesome itching as it took all within herself to resist the loning to itch.

That was when she heard the sirens go off, making her jump. Then the lights flashed red. She noticed the guards behind her look up awake and alert. They looked at each other and then at her. She was tempted to take action but it was too soon. She had to do all that she could to ignore this as she focused upon her rock breaking. Then she heard the gunfire and knew that now was the chance.

Now!

She took a few shards of firecrys out of her hand and focused the heat into the firecrys and it combusted.  Quickly she threw it at them hitting them both in their arms. She picked up her stool and then smacked its legs into them. They drew their whips. She picked up the sack and focused her heat into the firecrys and threw it at them. One dodged it and whipped it back to her.

She dodged it and picked up and used this moment to train herself to be able to light them faster. She focused the heat into the firecrys and threw one at him, one after the other. Some of them hit but not all. Yet it was enough to set their shoulders ablaze. Both dropped their whips and tried to do all they could to put out the flames.

Meanwhile, she made her way to the door. She plucked a shard out of her hand the size of a seed and set it alight before throwing it in. Once it was heated up and melted, she kicked the door out. Only to be greeted by more guards, pointing their guns at her. She felt dread sink into her as she realised that she should have saved a decent amount of firecrys for them too.

Then she saw the flurry of gunfire race across her like tiny shooting stars answering her wish for freedom. She looked to the right to see where they came from. Then her heart rose as she saw another group of rebels. One ran up to her who had his face covered by a black helmet. He lowered his gun and she could feel him look at her.

"Are you Loc?"

"Yeah."

"We're team Dark Fire. Come with us and don't worry, team Dark Storm are getting the other prisoners here."

"But we need more than that!"

"We know, there is also the super team Venom Bite that is currently working on the east and the other super team Virus is gathering data and covering the west. Now come on!"

She nodded as she followed them. Soon the reinforcements came. Only for them to be mowed down. She looked behind them to see more coming. She took some firecrys out of her hand and lit them and threw them at them. Then the others looked back and fired at them.

She spotted a sack full of firecrys and ran at it and collected it and ran back as fast as she could. They then ran on. She made sure that she looked behind as she did. They mowed down all that were in their way. Then a group came from behind. She pulled out some firecrys and lit some and threw them at them. The others turned back and, while they were caught off guard, mowed them down.

They were soon at the door where they were greeted by more guards. Yet they were out of bullets by then. She turned to her sack to see that she was out of firecrys. Then she found the hole in her sack. She looked up, her face pale as her eyes turned to team Dark Fire.

What should I do? What should I do?

That was when there was an explosion in front of them. They all fell and Loc looked up and saw nothing. She then looked around to see Wolf Raven coming towards them. He then had a large object in his arms almost like a cannon and a gun. He then pressed a trigger and a large oblong cannon-ball looking object propelled out of it. Then she looked at it and it hit a group of guards running at them to see they all exploded too.

"Come on, you lot!"

Nodding, she ran to him and they were all able to get into the bus and were able to leave. Loc passed out, completely exhausted.

The Celebration Of Freedom

Loc woke up. She tried to get up, but her body did not let her. She could feel that her arms and hands ached and throbbed as they still twitched. She could feel her body was clean and she looked around as she listened out for what was going on. She tried to move her head. This she did painfully as her neck was completely stiff like ice that was being broken. She looked to the left to see Wolf Raven sitting next to her, smiling.

"Good morning."

She frowned as she let out a groan of mild pain.

"W-what happened?"

His smile widened. His eyes narrowed as he started to beam.

"We won, all thanks to you."

Her eyes widened in confusion.

"H-how?"

"Well you helped the team to rescue you and made their mission very easy."

"Why don't I feel hungry?"

"We had to deep feed you."

"'Deep feed'?"

"Our terminology. We had to give you soup and force you to drink it."

She felt herself relax slightly.

"Oh. Thank you."

He smiled.

"Are you alright to move?"

"W-with help."

He closed his book, as he did she noticed the chain around his neck.

"Then I will tell the others. Once you are up and about then we will start the celebration."

She smiled weakly and nodded.

"Although, I must admit, of all that came before you, you are the most promising. I think we all need to celebrate that."

She nodded, feeling shy. She could feel her shoulders start to move forward slightly.

The celebrations started the following day. She was grabbed by Life to the table.

"Loc, you have got to try all of these!"

"Yeah! Have the purple one. Life gave me one and I loved it!" Distant Battle said as she put an arm around Life.

She bowed her head looking quite bashful.

She nodded and ate it. Suddenly blueberry muffins eclipsed her mouth.

That's lovely!

She sat at a table eating many different squares, some tasted like carrots, others bacon, others chocolate and gato. She enjoyed each and every one of them. She felt nothing but gratitude for even being able to taste these pleasant tastes. Her foot tapped along with the beat of the music the band was playing as others were drunkenly singing a song that made anything but sense.

She then took a drink and walked to the makeshift dance floor. She then started to clap along with the rhythm of the beat. She moved her body like a river on a mildly windy day. Then she felt a hand take her's. She looked to see Distant Battle holding it. He pulled her in closer and placed a hand on her hip. He moved her to the right and back to the left. He then stepped forward and back. Then he pushed her out and To Open and To Break skipped in front of them and To Break took her hand and To Open took Distant Battle's hand. They soon spun them out and then spun her around and around. Then put a hand on her hip and stepped left and then right and then left and then right. Forward and back, forward and back. Then they parted. Her hands were then joined by Light Bringer and he turned her to the left and spun her around and around. She almost fell back, to be caught by the hip. She looked back to see Wolf Raven and she smiled as he pushed her back onto her feet. He then took her by both of her hands. Then the music stopped.

"Now that was interesting." He said as he looked aside.

"Always is." She sang.

"So, how have you been?" Light Bringer asked.

That was when it came to her.

"Alright. Oh, and I found out a way to use my powers!" She exclaimed.

"Oh, and how do you use them?"

"Firecrys. I can light them up."

They looked at each other, surprised and smiled.

"So in the future, keep some on you."

"Will do, sir!"

The Sorrowful Rebel Chapter Nine Victory Of The Rebel

Escape  Loc was utterly broken. She had nothing, she was nothing, she meant nothing. All she was was a shell with nothing in her mind but ...
