Loc At The Academe
One month after her time in the Forest Of Illusions Loc found herself at the Academe Of Secret Knowledge. It was Not far from the forest, in fact she could see the edge of the forest in the far distance from her dormitory Which she found interesting and was a good reminder of the journey that she had embarked on since her triplet sisters had killed their parents.
Here, she would learn about the witch that she was one third of, Grasharlo, her triplets were the other two thirds. Now that they were awake and wrecking havoc wherever they were, she knew that she would have to learn as much about this witch as she could. This way she would be able to understand her triples and would be able to fight them. Part of her wished that they could go back to sleep and become her Grace and Sharimon again, but she knew better than to hope for that. Yet even though she was part of this witch, and that they wanted to wake her up, she felt like a different person altogether and she knew nothing of her! So this, she knew, was unavoidable and inevitable so that she will be able to learn more about their actions and figure out what they would do next.
She looked at the high and Gothic structure with marvel and when she walked in through the black wooden double door she was met with a bight light. She stepped on the white marble floor that looked like it had been polished within an inch of its life. She saw that the stairs that were a great distance in front of her and bannister which was held up by twirling black iron bars were the same.
She walked in feeling a little out of place and that she did not belong in such a beautifully lit and bright place. She could feel her heart pumping as she felt overwhelmed by the beauty and the size of the place. Her head tilted upwards to see a large diamond chandelier that stretched from the high top of the building that must have been miles above her to the first floor. She felt her mouth go dry as she looked at it.
“Woah!” she said dryly.
“I would say.” said a boy that was her age and surrounded by other boys that were a head shorter than them. He came to her followed by his friends and circled her. It was all too clear that they wanted to pick a fight with her. She wondered if it was because she was a third of Gasharlo or if it was because she was new and looked like she was the easiest to pick on. Whichever it was, they wanted to pick a fight regardless.
“Look, please I don't want any trouble.” she told him sternly as she looked at each boy and wondered how she was going to take each one down.
“Too bad for you, just like the rest of us, must know that you are trouble.” said the leader. They were about to start to get close to her. She rolled her eyes but stopped mid roll and widened. She suddenly became slightly pale and then she looked down.
“What, something wrong sweetheart?” he asked.
“Get back.” she said as her eyes glanced up.
This was responded to with a laugh. She then bit her lip and then she over to him and when she was on top of him she looked up and realised that they were still too close. She then jumped up and then dragged him by his collar away from the rest. As she did his gang chased after them and they were about to punch her only for them to hear a crash. They all looked up stunned as they saw the rest of the chandelier smash against the ground where they were.
The rest of the boys went pale as they realised what she had done.
“If we were there...”
“I know.”
“W-who are you?” the leader asked.
“Lorra Cerberus, or Loc.” she said.
The leader outstretched his hand to her.
“I'm Dillon, I'm the leader of the Brothers Of The Bond, welcome to our group. But seine as you're a girl, we're gonna have to change that name, after all girls are sisters. So Siblings Of The Bond.” he explained.
“Pleasure.” she said as she shook.
“Welcome aboard sister!” he said as he laughed. “Now, this is Jack, Johan, and Billy, he's a vampire.”
“Hi!” he said, slightly nervous.
She nodded as she shook all their hands.
They then laughed, and she did the same. Then their laughter was quickly cut short when they looked up. They then looked pale and she looked up to see none other than Matt. He smiled down at them as she climbed down the stairs.
“Hay Max.”
He smiled.
“Hey Loc, so it looks like we're in the same classes. Isn't this interesting?” he said.
“Yeah.”
“Well, I'm glad that we wouldn't need to worry about dealing with anything like the Forest Of Illusions could throw at us.” he said.
“True.” she laughed.
“By the way, who are your new friends?” he asked.
“I'm Dillon, Jack, Johan and this is Billy.” he said trying to sound casual. “Do you want to join our group?”
“Sure. I hope that we'll all become great friends, Loc I wish that we become greater.” he said.
“I hope so too.”
Loc's First Year
A day at the academe went like this, she would learn maths, literacy and science, history and art. These were the only lessons that all students there would attend. Then after these she would learn about Grasharlo and the impact that she had over her lifetime. This first year she was to learn more about her early years and life. She was learning about her childhood on that first day. To her astonishment, she learnt that they were quite ordinary people! There was nothing wrong with them, the only thing of note was that during her birth they were having troubles conceiving.
However even as a child, Grasharlo displayed anti-social behaviour, such as experimenting on her pets, some of which led to their deaths. When her parents stopped getting them for her she went on to experimenting on her neighbours pets and when that stopped she went onto strays. It was during this she had discovered that she had magic.
Which by this point she had escalated to experimenting on her neighbours children, by this point she was only twelve years old! When they all were found dead her parents confronted her and to their horror this was when they discovered that she had magic. She used it to trap them inside and there they were at their daughter's mercy until their deaths. When they were found by them and a group of dead babies, some of which were already skeletons.
This gave Loc a sense of unease and she started to realise that the moment that she came into their lives their deaths would be inevitable that their parents would die, and any children that they had would end up being dragged into her many experiments. Then came the idea that she might have forced them to give birth to them so that she had something to experiment on.
She just could not know whether or not this shocked her or sickened her. Either way the one thing that she took away from that first lesson was that it seemed that the witch Grasharlo was born completely evil. As this very thought she felt a shiver creep down her spine.
After that they would take a break to process her thoughts and meditate on the lesson. She tried not to get too affected by each lesson. She then found alone in the overgrown aria in the campus gardens. She would find herself staring at one single blood red rose. She felt a tug of something that can only be akin to nostalgia as she looked at it.
“Do you like them?” asked a man.
She jumped as it broke her trance. He put his hands up.
“Relax! I'm only wondering if you liked them that's all!”
She let out a relieved sigh as she smiled and turned her attention to the rose.
“Yeah, I do.” she said. “It's beautiful and complex. You could just stare at it for hours and get lost in thought. So why did you want to know?”
His lip curled.
“Strange, Grasharlo hated roses of any kind.” he said.
Her smile wiped as she could sense danger brewing.
“Who are you?” she asked.
“What does it matter to you. Not that you'll be using that head of yours any more!” he shouted as he ran to her and then took out a knife. He came to her throat and she dived away and in between his legs. She then shot her feet up and kicked him away. She then reached up and her hand felt thorns reach inside of her and she realised that she had gripped the rose bush. She tried to let go but it was painful to do so, so part of her stopped her. She looked to her left to see that he was about to strike down and, just as she dodged she moved the other hand to cause him to cut the branch of the rose bush. She then moved away and then flung the part of the bush at him. Some hit him in the eye, blinding him in the process.
“Help!” she shouted. “Help!”
“Loc!” Sven, her tutor shouted as she got to him. That was when the man looked in the direction of the man he then ran to him and just as he reached him Sven hit him hard in the gut. Then the people took him away. Quietly he led her away from him and to his office. There he took his hand in hers.
“Look, I'm sorry I have to tell you this to you, but not everyone wants you to be here and they've sent some assassins after you.” he said as he pulled the thorny branch off her hand to her small winces of pain. He looked at it and smiled. “Don't worry, it's not lethal so you'll only feel the pain and you'll live.”
She nodded slightly, not really registering. He then got out a bandage and a bottle of vodka and poured it on a piece of cloth and then cleaned her wounds. He then put a bandage on it. He then poured some in a small glass cup and gave it to her.
“Look I know that you're only just underage but I think that you need something to deal with that.” he said.
She looked at it and nodded. She reached out and just as she grabbed it her wounds hurt so she took it with the other hand. She took a slight sip and she coughed. With a look of disgust and put it back on the table.
He looked up as someone walked in.
“Lora Cerberus, this is Den Komor, he will be training you and protecting you while you're here.” he said. “Of course after your regular lessons you will be training with him.”
She nodded.
“Well, I think there's no time better than the present! Come along Lora!” he said.
She was led to the gym and he then faced her.
“Right now, I would like to see where you are.” he said. “So let's start fighting.”
She looked at him but her shock still prevented her from registering anything. He sighed and then he slapped her.
“Snap out of it girl!” he shouted.
Suddenly she was shocked and she snapped out of it. She looked at it and nodded. They then started to fight and as she did she passed out. Den caught her and carried her to the physicians ward and there they examined her, as Sven came up by him.
“Don't worry, she only fainted. I can tell that it's nothing too serious.” she said.
The next day she woke she saw that Den was sleeping next to her. She sat up and then she woke him up and then he turned around and then he turned as she dressed in her brown pants and blue blows. She then got her things.
“Come on.” she said.
Together they walked with Loc's new friends to their lessons and they soon came back to the lesson of Grasharlo and then it was back to training. This they did for over three hours, the first one was all about finding out what Loc could do. The second, what she can't do and the last part was starting to correct what she could do.
For the next couple of months they dedicated themselves to correcting her fighting. With all the days repeating like this. The only thing that she slipped at was her homework that was because she was too busy doing everything else. She could feel slight panic about that, but she was able to work it off during her training.
When they went back to her dorm Den would always sleep in a tree. She felt for him and once she requested for him to have the dorm next to her but she later found out that he refused. She even gave him a spare blanket but he refused it. She wondered why that was. She had even asked it once but he said that it was a long story. So she just came to the conclusion that he just liked sleeping in trees.
Then during winter time, when people went home to their families when the fact her parents died hit her hardest. She would think of her friends laughing in their mothers and fathers arms, or having all of those presents, it would remind her of when she did that or had those. All the memories flooded her mind seemingly all at once. She would find herself feeling lonely and she would find a quiet and private place where she could cry. All the memories were torture to her, yet what broke her heart the most was that there were people out there that would believe that she would deserve this. The worst part was the knowledge of why she would never have them ever again.
Yet it was during this time when she was approached by a man.
“Hi, are you Loc?” he asked.
“Yeah, who are you?” she asked as she wiped her tears away.
“I'm Sahino Herry, I'm here to substitute for Den.” he said.
She nodded as he put a hand on her shoulder.
“Are you alright?” he asked.
“Yeah.” she lied.
He looked at her sternly.
“No, you're not. Tell me, as it's my job to protect you. What's wrong.” he said.
“This is the first winter without mum or dad.” she said.
“Do you miss them?” he asked.
“Very.”
“Do you wish you could see them again?” he asked.
“I wish that were possible. After all they're dead and it was my sisters that did it. Not to mention that all my friends have gone home with their parents so I'm feeling very alone right now.” she said depressed.
He placed a hand on her shoulder.
“So the only way to be able to see them again is if you died?” he asked.
“Yeah, but I've got to stop my sisters from doing evil things.” she said.
“But won't there be others that can take car of those kinds of things?” he asked.
“I guess you're right.” she said as she felt something cold on her throat. She looked down shocked as she saw the blade.
“So it would be a mercy to kill you?” he said with a cruel look on his face.
She pushed the blade out of the way and then ducked as he threw the blade to the other hand. He then took her wrist and she jumped and dug her heels into his groin. This caused the man to drop his blade and she kicked it away into the rose bush. She then heard it dig into something. She looked down to see what it was and she let out a scream to see the dead face of Den!
She turned back knowing that if she didn't run from this place then she would be killed by him. She soon ran but then she saw that the door was locked. She banged against the doors hoping that it would open, but then when she spotted that regardless of what he did it just wouldn't budge. She was forced to run back to another door and she then spotted that that was locked too. She then tried door after door but all were unsuccessful. She then turned back to the assassin.
Her eyes rose to the blade above her. She dived in between his legs but he snapped his knees together strangling her in the process. She then felt the first stab in the back. Fortunately her adrenalin was high enough for her to be affected too much from the pain. She put her legs to the door and pushed against it. This caused him to lose balance and he fell back. He then hit his head against a purple rose bush.
She saw him twitch as the thorns buried themselves into the back of his head and neck. She shouted for help again and again as he twitched and his face turned purple. He was long since dead before someone came. She was quickly taken from that place as all she could do was repeat that he's dead and he pointed to a different rosebush. They soon saw why. She felt the tears come and she cried into whoever was closest.
She was soon checked for injuries. She heard people talking but she did not care what they had said. She felt the cage of her depression weigh on her chest making it heavy. She could feel like she could not eat nor did she know what she wanted to do. She just wanted for all of this to end, somehow....
Honestly, my parents are dead, my sisters were the ones to do it and I have been almost killed twice, and the worst part is I have a feeling that things will only get worse. Just when will this end?She thought repeatedly in her head.
Sven came to her and gave her a glass of wine.
“Look, you really need to get this down you. It will help.” he said as he placed a hand on her shoulder and shook her. She looked up, her eyes were red and puffy.
“Look, this was not your fault. Den knew what he was going into and he was willing to do it.” he said.
“Maybe he shouldn't.” she said.
“I wouldn't be so sure. After all, even-though many see you as Grasharlo, we don't. Even-though you are one third of her soul, we know that you are not her. You are your own person.” he said.
“So?”
“So, you must not let this get to you. You need to be stronger than that.” he said.
“Why? Can't you get someone else to kill them?” she snapped.
“We can, but you're our best shot.” he said. “Now, come I think it would be better if you're not left alone at this time.”
With all that said she spent the winter with him and he made sure that she enjoyed her time there, mainly by distracting her mind with games like ping pong or teaching her how to dance. She soon started to feel happy and laughed many times.
When classes started she was given another bodyguard but this one was a woman. She was young and thin. She did not look like a bodyguard but then again, she was trained to blend in. She had started training when she started classes. She soon had her learning different fighting techniques. It soon came to mid spring.
“Look, Loc, I'll be going away for a while, so I'll be hiring a substitute soon.” she said.
She nodded and she arrived a week later she came. She had long blond hair and amber eyes. She came to her after all the classes were over and it was time for training.
“So, you must be Loc, I'm Avitina.” she said as she held her hand out.
“Well you know I'm Loc.” she said
“Yeah, tell me, once this session's over would you like for me to teach you how to put on makeup?” she asked.
She smiled.
“Sure!”
They soon had the training finished. Then they both took a bath. Then she took her to the toilets and then took her to a mirror. At this she was stunned at how thin her face had become. She then put on the foundation and then she put on some lipstick. She soon felt like her body was beginning to seize up. She then fell off her chair and she soon realized the woman was an assassin. She tried to back away, but her limbs would not move! She looked up and felt the shock and fear sink in as she knew that she was going to kill her and there was nothing that she could do to stop it.
She knelt beside her and then she stroked her neck.
“You know, you're quite beautiful, even without makeup, but before I kill you I just have to put on some eyeshadow.” she said as she put it on, closing her eyes in the process.
Then she felt her hand around her neck and then she felt a sudden squeeze. She then coughed and her hand became tighter and tighter. She could do nothing as her life was being choked out of her. She could feel her heartbeat increase making the choking worse. She couldn't even let out a scream for help. Then she felt the pressure build up in her head until it pounded.
She could feel that feeling that she had when she released the elemental shadow. She just could feel it build as her life started to fall and she soon released it. Her hand released too and she heard something hit the ground beside her. She soon knew that she had killed her. She soon faded from consciousness.
When she woke she was in her last month of the year. So she spent all of that catching up on her work. This, she welcomed, for she needed something to distract her mind.
Loc's Second Year
It had been no less than three months and Loc was back in the academy. It smelt and felt like a brand new year. He had been staying in a facility that was provided by T.OO.T.RO.E.. They had been looking after her parents' deaths. She had tried not to think about it. She was now fifteen and she knew that even-though she might be attacked this year, she knew that she could not let it get to her. She also knew that she would have to learn as much as she could about Grasharlo.
She had soon found her band and then quickly caught up with them. All went home and even though Billy was a vampire his life seemed normal. He had spoken of many changes going on in the kingdoms of the west. However she was not interested. No, what she was interested in was spending time with her friends and enjoying it.
She noticed that her friends were feeling a lot more comfortable around Max. This was the best part of it. Even-though she knew that reality would slap her awake any moment, she was determined that that moment came, it won't taint her happiness in this moment. She then turned the corner to see the new head.
“Who's that?”
“Yuki Natsu. He's an Animaganese.” said Max. “He's also Ringer's second in command.”
“What!? As in the Ringer? The one that collects all those rings with powers?” said Dillon.
“Yes. You know it's said that he has a ring for every occasion.”
They then walked to the first session. They had maths and English and science. Then Max and Loc diverted from the group and went to their lesson about Grasharlo. There they learnt that the first dramatic thing that she did was killing all of a royal bloodline and absorbed their power, in fact most of her targets and victims were people of royal backgrounds. Including the royals born out of wedlock. In fact, they were the top targets.
Then after the lesson she saw Yuki pass her and gave her a nod. She then nodded back and then walked on. She then was about to walk to her dorm when she saw a teacher of another class. She could not remember which. He then called her name. She then walked to him.
“Yeah?”
“Could you come with me?” he asked.
“Why? Are you-”
“History tutor. I wanted to talk to you.” he said.
“Sure.” she said as she walked out of the campus and onto the field.
He then turned around and her eyes dropped to a gun that was, by the design, from another planet.
Assassin!
She soon ducked as the first bullet fired at her she then spotted that there was a woman walking by and when it hit her, she was confused when there was no blood splatter and then she walked on and then she collapsed. She looked back and then saw the second bullet come to her. She twisted to the side and saw the bullet on the ground.
Tranquilliser!
She then looked at the woman, suddenly relieved that she was alive.
If she's alive then this man wants me alive. She came to the conclusion. She then dodged again and again and then she noticed that he needed to load the gun. This was her opening and she dived to his side and then pushed him to her ground. She then raised her elbow to his throat. She then hit him in the groin again and again until he was asleep.
She soon called for Yuki. He soon came and then he looked at him.
“Henry Norgrid. Bounty Hunter.” he said.
She looked up.
“You were lucky.” he said bluntly. “He was a rookie.”
She nodded.
“We are getting a new body guard in for you. One who has an emotional investment in keeping you safe. We should have brought her in last year but she was busy.” he said.
“Who?” she asked.
“You will find out.” he said. “Come, she should be here tomorrow, so always be with someone throughout your day until she does.”
She nodded. Her friends walked her to her dorm that night. She lay there in her bed as she looked at the ceiling, as her mind wandered from topic to topic. She only had a sandwich before she fell asleep. The following day she took her bath and got changed into her clothes and then greeted her friends and then walked to the campus. She then made her way to Yuki's desk.
Here she met a woman that was built like a brick. Her face reminded her of her mother, but her face was more chiselled.
“Loc, this is Morgan Mcay, she will be your bodyguard and trainer.” he said.
“Sorry, I couldn't be here last year. I had a fair few jobs I had to do.” she said.
“No problem.” she said. “You know you look like my mum.”
She smiled sadly at her.
“So I've heard.” she said. “Now, come, you have lessons to go to.”
She nodded and she went about her day and it was soon the lesson of Grasharlo. In this lesson she learnt that she was apprenticed by the Dark Master Lord Gajellidor Darkrogh himself and that under this she soon became his best apprentice and she proved to be a fast learner. She soon was on her way in the world of the Sixth Age of Legends. Where she became so dangerous that people were sent to kill her and when they did they soon found that she was far too powerful and quickly overpowered them. Then they soon sent the most powerful warriors and heroes to her only for them to meet their end. She even faced the two Legendears and even-though they killed her body she soon found another and then used that to resurrect her old body and used the host as a sacrifice. She had a history of this. She had found magic and was able to stop her age completely and she was able to become immortal.
She was completely shocked and horrified by all of this. She then went to the training grounds and there they fought and she was soon given a heavy vest and then she put it on. She was told to wear it all the time apart from in bed. She, over the next couple of months became stronger and stronger. She, on her birthday, was given weights.
“Here,” she said, handing them over. “these are for you. Happy birthday.”
She looked at her surprised.
“Thank you?” she said surprised. “How?”
“I'm your bodyguard, I should know these kinds of things.” she said. Loc clearly knew that it was a lie, but she let this slide.
She was even given a heavier vest. She then used them for an hour before bed and in the morning. She soon got used to them and by the time it was winter time, she was on another set of weights. She had even felt and knew that she was becoming stronger and stronger.
Then came the next bounty hunter. She appeared like any other woman in the academy, she was even a student. She was able to blend in so well that it was impossible to single her out.
Loc was in the lieu when she came in. She had just finished her business and had come out of her cubicle. She looked in the mirror, and had noticed how toned she was becoming. She even could see that her hair needed cutting, for it was by her hips. Although she could not be bothered to cut it or have it cut.
“Hello.” she said as she looked in the mirror. She reapplied her makeup as she looked at her. “You know you're quite beautiful.”
“Thank you?” she said cautiously. “As are you.”
She smiled.
“Thank you. By the way I think that you look as if you could eat a bit more though.” she admitted.
She looked at her.
“There's nothing wrong with what I eat.” she remarked.
She laughed as she put her hands up in a surrender.
“Alright! Alright!” she laughed. “But I can tell that you're more of a Tomboy, but I must admit that you're starting to smell like them.”
She looked at her.
“I do?” she asked slightly startled.
“Yeah. Here!” she said as she sprayed some perfume on her. She then sniffed. “Better. Now you smell like a girl.”
She smiled as she looked back and her head began to spin and she started to feel dizzy. She looked at her as she smiled.
“Are you feeling alright?” she said. “You look kind of dizzy. Are you getting enough sleep?”
Then it clicked, she was a bounty hunter. She tried to call out but she felt like something was over her voice box.
“Cleiravoi. A perfume designed to make people sleep and those who breath it in can not speak.” she said.
She narrowed her eyes.
“Oh, and I pretended to do so.” she said.
She, knowing that she was only stalling for time, punched her in the face and even-though she blocked it, she was able to use that to pull her in, as she was stronger than her. She then dug the other fist into her gut several times. Knowing that she had only moments until she was passed out. She noticed that she did not cry out, which told her that she was used to that. This meant that if she was going to grab Morgan's attention, she would have to use an even greater tack-tick to make her scream.
She then hit her in the face and she caught herself on the sink and pulled her up before she hit the floor. She, for a moment, saw that she had a slight look of disgust. This gave her an idea. She then grinned for she knew that it was so disgusting that she would surely scream.
“What?” she asked.
She then took a step back slowly as she looked at each toilet seat and soon found what she was looking for. She then challenged her to come closer. She then laughed and ran to her and then she punched her into the cubicle. She then hit her head on the side and then she landed. She then let out the loudest scream as she got a head-full of left over urine and dung.
She laughed as Morgan rushed in and collapsed in her arms. When she woke up she was greeted by Morgan and Yuki.
“Hello.” she said lovingly. “How was your nap?”
“How long was I out?” she asked.
“Over a day.” said Yuki.
“The one that attacked you was Leto Lorendale. Master of infiltration and makeup and perfume. The very fact that you were able to take her out in such a-unique way is hilariously astounding! How did you know to do that?” he laughed.
“When I kicked her down, she looked at the floor disgusted. She grabbed the sink so she wouldn't touch it.” she said.
At this they all laughed.
After this things went back to normal, Loc went with Morgan over the winter, where she spent her time training and playing board and sports games. She enjoyed her time and in her downtime Morgan let her read her books. By the end of the holidays she had read half her library. Then, when she came back to the academy, she was wearing a heavier vest and was lifting heavier weights. She was soon training in the hall and she had noticed that she was fighting better and, when her vest was off she was faster. She was thriving, and Morgan helped her find time to do her homework.
She soon came to the end of the year, and she thought that she would be able to end the year completely safe and sound. Then reality kicked in, it was after a long session of training she had finished her bath and she was tired, but was waiting for Morgan to finish her time on the lieu. She then felt something sting her in the neck. She then collapsed and her eyes rested on a woman with long blue hair and deep scarlet eyes. She put down a gun and put it away in the case. She then walked down to the door to the baths and lieu. She then took out a pin and she crouched. She soon saw her lock the door.
She tried to get up and shout but she could not. She walked over to her and then put something under her nose. She felt that power that she could feel suddenly became incapable to access. She then closed her eyelids. She was helpless as she felt her body leave the ground. She knew that she was being carried.
She could not even shout for help as she felt herself moving forward. She knew that she had her! She could do nothing and she walked on. Not to mention Morgan could not help her for that door was locked and only someone who was really strong could kick that down.
Then she felt herself being rolled out of the arms and she banged against the ground beneath her and she rolled away. She could not see what was going on.
Meanwhile the bounty hunter looked back at an angry Morgan. She then looked in front of her only to band that the door was there in front of her. She then looked up already knowing that she was going to get her behind handed to her. She then ran at the bounty hunter. She whacked her away and she flew back and then she hit her head against the wall. She found a pole and got it out and pointed it to her as she was already in front of her and as she dragged the pole to her, she was able to catch the pole and she pulled her in and then punched her in the gut. She then landed on her knees and then Morgan flung the pole into the back of her head.
When she was able to move she climbed down from her arms.
“Are you alright?” she asked.
“Yeah, should be.”
They then soon came to the end of the year without any more attacks.
Loc's Third Year
Loc entered her third and final year at the academy. She did not quite know what she should do after the year was up. She thought about learning a bit more about Grasharlo in other areas, but she just did not know if there were any other places that she could look. She thought that maybe she should learn about magic or about Raho, the hero that finally put an end to Grasharlo, and the reason that she and her sisters were in the situation that they were in.
The first thing she noticed was that her friends were gone. She asked Yuki about this but he told her that they had all decided to leave a year earlier. None of them gave a reason why. This meant that she was going to have to bear the year alone, well apart from Morgan, who was training her and had moved her onto other things, like reading the room and stratagems.
She had noticed that there was a new teacher teaching all about Grasharlo, the only difference was that there were only four people in the class with her. All of them had a black tattoo of a black five pointed star between their eyebrows. She had noticed that they were giving her strange looks too. Probably because she was one third of the person that they were learning about or they could be trouble.
This new teacher, Light Ray, had the same tattoo too. He taught her about her great power and that sometimes, Grasharlo's power had become too much for her, and had sometimes caused her great harm whenever she lost control. This surprised her, but what surprised her more was how Light told her this with a tone that she could only call admiration. This she did not like and made her feel uncomfortable.
“Why do you think that's admirable?” she asked.
“Do you think it isn't?” he asked.
“Yes, after all she did so many terrible things.” she said.
“But they were great things, maybe immoral but they made her great and she became powerful.” he said. “I know that when you're my age you'll understand.”
She then rolled her eyes.
I don't think that I will. She thought.
“Anyway, today's homework is to write an entire essay about what you have learnt so far.” he said as she heard a fair few groans.
She then was about to go to her training when the other four people came up to her.
“Hey, you're Lorra Cerberus right?” asked a woman with long blond hair and brown eyes and a yellow tan.
“Yeah why?” she asked cautiously and suspiciously.
“I'm Lasunny, this is Lroshan, this is Lux and this is Lvner.” she said.
She shook her hand and the hand of a man that looked just like Sunny. She then shook the hand of a woman with gold hair and blue eyes and a man with fiery ginger hair and blue toned skin. “We would like to be your friend.”
“Sure.” she said. “And my friends call me Loc.”
“Alright, Loc. So where're you going?” she asked.
“Training.” she said.
“Well, enjoy.” she called.
She gave her a puzzled look.
“I-I will.” she said as she came to the training ground. There she, and Morgan trained, this time without the vest and she soon found that she could move faster and she was stronger than the year before. She could even last longer in the fight. She also found that she could endure more pain. She then by the end of an hour and a half she was tired, but not as well as the year before.
“Looks like your offence is good, but I think that we need to work on your defence.” she said.
She nodded as Light walked by. Morgan gave him a look of suspicion. He then stopped and then looked at Morgan.
“Well, I heard that Miss Cerberus had a bodyguard, but I never expected her to look so beautiful.” he said.
“What do you-” she then felt her hand hot and then she pulled it out and she soon saw that the hand was burnt. She then looked at the teacher and he then punched her and she flew and hit the wall. He then pulled Loc away and tried to pull her towards him. She then jumped and kicked him in the groin. He let go and then he jumped up and then kicked him in the throat. He staggered back and then she took a pole and hit him in the side before he could recover.
Morgan walked up to her.
“Well done.” she said.
“You taught me well.” she said and they carried him to Yuki.
They explained what had happened. He listened in closely.
“I see.” he said. “I have to tell you that they are of the cult known as the Sunburners. They seem to have taken quite an interest in you Loc, and I do think that they're the ones that sent those bounty hunters after you last year.”
She looked behind her and then it came to her.
“Hold on, the other students that might be one of them.” she said.
He then looked at her concerned.
“Then, I think that we need to get you another teacher, and as for these other students, I think that you ought to get close to them and report all that they do. I'll get another teacher and this other teacher will keep an eye on them. Now, Morgan, I think that it would be better for you to become a fellow student. After all students can share dorms.” he said like a commander sending out orders.
“But-”
“I know that you have most of the qualifications that you will be applying for and so don't worry I've already made the preparations.”
They all nodded.
The new teacher, Coran was strict but not too strict and Loc knew that she would have to act like there was nothing wrong, but it did shake them to not only her but another teacher, this told her all that she needed to know. She then looked at the teacher and she learnt more and more about just how dangerous that witch was. When it was after training she made sure that Morgan was among them at all times. Then at the end of each day she would report everything to Yuki.
This was what happened until winter. She then saw another teacher in the maths class. She too looked at her with those eyes that she had become accustomed to over the past couple of years. She could even see the star on her forehead. She had silver hair and blue eyes.
She then, after class asked for Morgan for some time alone. She, as a student, had no choice but to obey. Loc waited outside as she knew that the meeting might have other goals. That was when the others came to her. Then came around her, she soon felt nervous as she heard a bump in the room. She was about to go and check but the others pulled her back.
“Hey, Loc, could I ask you something?” Lasunny asked.
“Yes.”
“Have you ever heard of the Sunburners?” she asked.
“Here and there.” she said.
She then heard something snap. She then was about to go and check but Lasunny came in the way.
“Well, we're Sunberners, and we would like you to become one of our sisters. After all, you have a great power and you'll make a good mother to many stars.”
“I think that I'm a bit too young to be a mother.” she said.
“No you're not. Plus you'll be able to do this once you're trained.” she said as she raised her hand's temperature to a degree that she had to pull it out.
She looked at them and then Morgan came out and she was covered with burns.
“Morgan!” she shouted as she raced to her. “Come on.”
“Hey give us your answer!” she called.
“No, no I won't!” she called.
“Yes you will!” they called back.
They soon were in the hospital. She looked at her as she was afraid that the burns would kill her. She stayed there until she fell asleep. Yuki came in and saw that she was sleeping. He ten took the blanket of an unused bed and wrapped it around the seventeen year old girl. She then looked at Morgan. Her burns were severe but not fatal. She would survive but she would have to stay here for a long time.
He then looked at the girl. She saw a curious creature, she seemed to care more than he thought that she would. The very fact that she was here proved that beyond a doubt. Yet even-though he knew that she was one third of Grasharlo, she was growing into her own person. It was very difficult to see her as anything but, yet still she acted almost like Reho in many respects.
He would have left them alone until he saw Morgan wake up.
“Are you alright?” asked Yuki.
“Yeah. Though I'm not going to be able to be her bodyguard for a while. You're going to have to find a substitute.” she said.
“Yes, I know. I also know that I'm going to have to keep her away from those classmates of hers. They clearly will do anything to get her.” he said.
“Yeah, I don't think that that'll be a problem. I don't think that she likes them anyway.” she said.
He looked at her hand nodded.
He then left them and over the next week Loc avoided them like a plague. She knew that if they were going to do all of this to her bodyguard then they would probably do all that they could to recruit her and kidnapping, she knew was one of those things. She had a decent new bodyguard, Jake. He was good at his job but he was cold and distant. He saw this as a begrudging job than anything that he really wanted.
Then winter came and she went to Morgan's over the holidays. Even-though she liked her time there, she could not help but feel guilty that she was now scarred for life. After all, all this was to protect her and she was the reason why she got those scars, those burns. She tried not to think about it but she just could not.
When she returned she had spotted that her classmates were still there, they kept on asking her to go with them, again and again until she just blanked them out. She focused on her work and made sure that she gave them as little time in her day as possible, mainly spending her spare time hidden away in the library, her head and mind buried in a book. She did this so long and often that she had soon read everything in the library.
Then came the day of her exams. She had finished her final exam when the whole academy shook. She looked up and then spotted that everything was shaking Then she heard the screaming. She then rushed to where they were coming from. She then heard Morgan call her name. She then turned back and then she saw the classmates surrounding Morgan and she saw the blade at her throat.
Then a hand was placed on her shoulder.
“Lorra Cerberus, I would like for you to come with us.” said a man with gold hair and had eyes like the sun, as in she thought that she was looking at twin stars when she looked into them. He then looked at Morgan as if he knew that he did not have to open his mouth to understand his intentions. She too looked at her.
“No. I don't' know who you are but I have no intention in joining a cult.” she said.
He then nodded, then grabbed Morgan's legs and then she heard some sizzling from them. Morgan bit back the pain, determined not to let her hear her cries. She was about to run over to them to help her but the man gripped her shoulder. He then gave them a nod. They then put their hands to her chest and then she heard the sizzle and this time it was accompanied with the scream that they wanted.
“Stop! Stop it!”
“No.” he said.
“Fine! I'll go with you!”
He cleared his throat.
“I'll go with you, I'll even join you just stop it!” she cried.
He smiled. They then slit the back of Morgan's legs.
“No!” she shouted as she tried to go to her.
“Relax, it's to stop her from following us.” he said. “Now let's go.”
“Wait, please could I say goodbye?” she asked.
“No.” he said.
She looked back pained as she turned back and as she walked on she felt something in her arm and the world went black.
