The Sorrowful Rebel Chapter One The Birth Of A Rebel

Danger

Loc, when she woke, knew that she was in another world. She knew, by the lack of a sky, that she was far from where she had landed and that someone had taken her in. She had hoped that, despite it all, the previous series of events were nothing but a bad and bizarre dream and that she would wake in her cell, waiting for the next step of her fait would just play out already.

Where am I?

She noticed that she was in a coral red bed with a set of scarlet draws with a stick with a light at the top. Upon a closer look she noticed that it was being lit by lightning the width of her pinky finger. She turned her head to the side and looked around the crimson room. Its four walls and ceiling were all shiny, like it was made of ruby. Yet she knew better than to think that it was. After all, it could have been made from a material that is unique to this world and this world alone. Yet she saw one single maroon door.

She could smell cinnamon and perfume. She had an odd taste in her mouth, like spicy Turkish delight. As she heard the cracking of burning twigs and saw the simple fire in the fireplace. She thought that it looked homely but at the same time there was a barrenness about it. Yet she looked up and noticed that there was another light lit by lightning.

Hey eyes stung and watered. A single tear fell from the corner of her eyes as they filled with too much water. She had to blink away the blurry sight. She felt pins and needles all over her body and she pulled herself up into a sitting position. She, because she was lighter than she used to, lifted herself up higher and faster than she intended, making the pain in her stomach hurt worse. She let out a groan as she placed her hand over her stomach to ease the tension. She then coughed several times as her lungs felt thick, like rubber. She had to breathe in and out several times before they were working the way they usually were working.

She looked down to the crimson duvet. She looked behind her to the red foam mattress and pillow. She looked at each thing intently and stroked it. Just to feel that her sight was not a liar.

Strange…

She then slowly slid out of the bed and slowly walked a few steps. Then she fell at the third. She looked down to realise that her legs felt like jelly. She then spun on her back and stretched her legs for a while. Then she climbed back onto her feet. She started to walk around again and this time she was able to walk better. But she still felt like she was on the verge of falling again. Yet she continued to push herself on and on until her legs felt stronger than they did when she woke up.

She could feel herself returning.

Now, where am I? She wondered, already knowing she would not know the answer.

She looked outside to see a bright pale red sky. She looked down at the strange creatures with skins of all different colours. Instead of hair they had horns that were also many different colours and eyes that glowed like twin stars in their eye sockets. She saw carriages without horses and yet they were also silent. She saw that they kept their heads down and they were thin.

Then Loc saw a soldier walk up to a family. He hit one of them and then other soldiers ran up to the family and took the children away and shoved them in a van. Yet she saw that the adults were still being beaten up as the van disappeared. She would have jumped out. Then she was pulled back.

"Get away from the window!" Said a man.

She looked back to see that he had bright red skin and yellow horns and white eyes. She could tell that he was looking at her in a stern way.

"Why?"

"Because you are not from this world. It is dangerous here for people who are not from this world." He said drawing the curtains.

What?

"Why?"

"The Evil Emperor is a tyrant and I know what will happen to you. This is something that I want to put an end to, which is him and his reign. Which means that I can't let that happen. After all, you are someone from another world and-"

"Well, I think that you should make an exception for me."

"Why?"

"Because I'm evil." She admitted.

"No, you are not. I can see it."

She frowned.

"How?" She asked, stepping further away from the window.

He pointed to his eyes.

"They can see through you."

Hold on,is he really basing all of this on his eyes?

"Really? How do you know they can be trusted or that I can be trusted?"

"Experience. I have made many mistakes by not trusting them. And they tell me that I would not just trust you, but we will win by recruiting you." He explained.

She rolled her eyes.

"Well I can't say that I can't do anything to help you there."

He gave her an awkward look.

"By the way of your name Sorrowful Demon Of The Pit?"

"No. It's Lorra Cerberus. But just call me Loc."

"Do you know what that means?"

"No."

"Then that might have been the meaning."

Her eyes widened. He smiled and she sighed.

"Who are you anyway?"

"To Break Son Of Peter."

"What?"

"In this world, our names are the meaning behind names."

Interesting…Hold on!

"How do I get home?" She asked as the memories flooded her mind.

He frowned and she rushed to the man and pinned her against the wall.

"Tell me now. There must be a way so please tell me!"

"I'm sorry. I don't know."

"But I have to get back! I need to get back!"

"Why? You have been sleeping for almost a month!"

A ripple of shock ran throughout her. She let go of him and let him drop. This meant that her friends were dead. Ringer, Morgan were dead, just like her parents. They were all dead. She felt tears fall down her face. She soon cried and cried and was blinded by tears. She felt her throat tighten as her breath became rapid in them off her aching heart.

She fell. Nothing mattered anymore.

Price

Loc stayed with To Break Son Of Peter for three weeks. Nothing truly registered with her. Nothing notable happened to her. Everything had become nothing but a blur. Not even To Break Son Of Peter's words could reach her. All she did was sit in that bed staring at the wall with a numb mind. Thinking of nothing but the ones that she had lost.

She had nothing and she knew it. She had nobody and she knew it. Nobody was coming for her and she had no way to get back home. All those that could were probably dead. She was living without anything to live for. She would have cried her heart out if she had the heart for it. She could feel her heartbeat was very light and faint.

Is this what it means to be immortal? Is this what it is like? To have all I know and love die and turn to dust? If so, then how long will I have to live like this? Just what is the point of this? Just to live day after day on an endless loop.

Then there was a knock on the door. Which made her jump slightly. Then she relaxed. She assumed that it was one of To Break Son Of Peter's fellow rebels. He was always bringing them over. He told them plans and then left. He would glance at her as he did. Almost as if he was asking if she would want to come. However, her lack of response told him that she was not. Yet even they would look at her in the same way. Then he would shake his head and they would follow them without a word.

It was not because she was scared. She just did not care. She did not know the whole situation either. None of this concerned her nor was she involved. It was not her world, it was not her fight. So why should she get involved? This had nothing to do with her, it had nothing to do with her at all. In fact she could not see how it could.

She was only here because she had nowhere to go. She felt more like a pet rather than someone who was staying here as a guest. She sat, she ate, she slept day after day. She did nothing else. She hardly even spoke! No, in fact she didn't say a word since the day that she woke up here, in this world. Where she was nothing but lost.

She looked over to To Break Son Of Peter as he walked up to the door. Then he looked through the peephole. He became pale as he backed away. He looked over to her and just as he gripped her hand the door slammed open. Then the door landed in front of the two. He looked back and just as he pulled her up she heard a bang. Then his grip slipped and he fell. His head hit her chest and she saw the eyes were no longer there. She did not even need to look to know what that meant.

She felt hands grab her and she was dragged away. She kicked and kicked and four grabbed her legs.  She tried to punch but her wrists and arms were grabbed. She then was thrown into one of those large horseless carriages. She felt something in her temple and all went black.

Captured

Loc woke up. She felt slightly dizzy and disoriented. She looked around. She felt the pain in the back of her head. She could see nothing. She had to blink several times to prove to her that her eyes were open. She knew that she was lying down on something. She could not feel what she was on. She could feel gravity pushing down on her shoulders. This told her that she was lying down diagonally.

Where am I now? What am I on and what is going to happen to me now?

Never mind. After all, I'm going to find out soon.

She heard someone come in.

She soon was looking at a pair of electric blue lights next to a pair of line green lights. Yet she knew that they were not lights at all but they were eyes. She could feel them looking at her intently and excited curiosity.

"Well. That seals it! She's not from this world. It's as clear as day! Although, I must admit, that her eyes are pretty strange how they don't light up like that. I did not know that even in other worlds that none-glowing eyes could exist! How very fascinating!"

He came close to her and her entire sight was filled with his eyes.

"I know! I heard people who saw her called her-"

He let out a huff as she saw the glowing pair of electric blue eyes.

"Father Of Elevation, please do not speak of such things here. This is a place of science. Not childish prophecy!"

He nodded as he looked to the side.

"Oh, thank you Father Of Knowledge. I forgot that you do not like such things."

"You better."

"Although I do have to admit I do dable in such things, for entertainment purposes and entertainment purposes alone."

"Good for you. Now, back to her." He said, flicking on the light.

This revealed the man with electric blue eyes had silver skin and thin white horns. Meanwhile the man next to him had shiny purple skin with electric blue horns. They both were looking white coats that looked like trench coats but the material that they were made of was too thin. Underneath she noticed that their trousers and shirt were also white.

She could hardly move as one touched her face. Their touch was cold as ice, yet it felt like flesh, but cold flesh and rough too.

"Do you think that she understands us?" Asked the purple one.

The silver one looked at her in her eyes.

"Yes…it seems that she does!"

"And?"

"I can safely say that I can not work with this. She looks like she's already broken!"

"So?"

He let out a sigh as he looked at her.

"Tell me, what is your name, child?" He asked, almost fatherly.

"Lorra Cerberus, please just call me Loc." She replied, her voice sounded distant and far off. As if it was no longer her's.

She could not take her eyes off this man. She could see something more in those electric blue eyes. Like there was something inside them. She felt herself moving forward with her sight, she felt a primal, instinctive side of her, willing her to get closer. Then she sat a man in the shadows with bright scarlet glowing eyes. She could tell nothing more of him than that.

Then her world became black. When her eyes opened she felt nothing but fear in her heart. She felt breathless and she knew that she had to get out of here. She did not know how, but she knew that she must get out of this place as soon as she could.

She looked around and forced herself forward. She pushed further and further forward until she snapped free for whatever was holding her. She ran around the room. She soon felt a door and opened it. She did not take that long and ran down the light white corridor. She found corner after corner. She just could not even see a way out, nor could she see any windows or door leading out.

She just could not see a way out. She could not see a way to stop and gather her thoughts. Her mind was filled with the image of that man. She just could not even get him and the fear out of her mind.

Then she saw the silver man turn a corner. She was just about to run past him then she felt something in her back and she fell.

When she woke up, she was back where she started…

Prisoner

Loc woke the following day. She looked up as Father Of Knowledge came in. He looked at her and stroked her forehead as he looked at the marks upon them. He moved closer to her as he looked at the rose and its stem and the star between her eyes with intrigue. He stroked the rose down to the star. He then smiled at her.

"That really suits you."

He then took the crop of white hair to her side. He brushed it through his fingers as he looked closely at the different strands. He looked at the other strands of hair. He stroked the streaks of the hair, looking at each strand again and again.

"How did that happen? Is that normal for people in your world?"

Loc looked at him, but tried to avoid his eyes.

"Why would I tell you?"

How eyes lit up as they widened.

"You can talk?" He expanded. "You should do so more often, you have a beautiful voice!"

She looked aside with anger in her eyes. She could not help but feel the humiliation as he looked at her like nothing but a pet. Yet he looked at her intently, almost like he wanted to learn everything about her body. No, she could tell that he would do that. He would even cut into her, just to find out every little piece worked and to find out exactly alike they were and how unalike they were.

"What's going to happen to me?"

He gripped her chin delicately and turned her head back to him. He looked at her in the eyes intently. It was all too clear that he was interested in her un-glowing eyes. Yet she had to squint as the sudden burst of light hurt her eyes.

"You have such beautiful eyes. I wonder why they don't glow?"

She rolled her eyes.

"Don't know, in my world there are none that glow. Well apart from certain occasions but they're not the normal."

"Interesting…"

He smiled as he took out a knife.

"Might as well find out." He said as his grip on her jaw became stronger.

Knowing what was about to happen, she tried to get it out of his fingers but the grip was just too strong. She closed her eyes so intently that she could see dots in the darkness. Even though she knew that she knew that it was useless. Soon the blade was in her and under her eyeball. She screamed and screamed as the pain soon became unbearable. Soon the eye was out and she was hanging there, panting. Blood poured out of the socket like a mini waterfall.

He looked at it with satisfaction.

"There you go. All I wanted was one. So, you can keep the other one." He said as he looked at the socket he plucked the eye from.

"Thanks!" She snapped sarcastically.

She frowned as the blood stopped falling. Then she felt an itch coming from it. She wanted to scratch it but she could not. She felt the itching become worse and worse. She wanted to desperately scratch it, just to relieve the torturous itching. It was like there was someone tickling the flesh surrounding where the eye was in a tourturesome way that made the experience worse. Yet she had no relief. The itching became so unbearable that all she could focus upon was the itching and nothing else. She wanted for it to stop. She wanted to scratch it to stop it. Then once it did stop, she could see through the eye that was plucked.

"So, they grow back…interesting."

Loc would have felt relieved by this but she was far too in shock by what had just happened.

I can grow back limbs? Oh don't! Why is he looking at me like that? Oh he's going to cut something else out isn't he?

He placed the eye in a glass jar and looked at her new eye.

"I wonder…"

He grabbed her hand and raised his knife to the tiny finger. She then tried to pull and pull but she could do nothing.

"No! Don't!"

Then he chopped one of her fingers off before she had time to register. He looked at it.

"Stop it! Just stop it!"

He placed the finger in another jar as he chopped off another. He did it so fast that, again, she had no time to register. Then the pain came and she screamed and screamed as the pain flooded all of her senses. Then she felt the painful itching and she felt the pain become so bad that she ended up screaming. She felt the bones regrow and reform and the muscles and veins regrew milliseconds after. The muscle and tissue exposure to the air made the itching become sore. When the pain ended that was then they were back to the way they were.

She looked up to the side to see the white line where the old fingers were cut off with the pale new fingers marking what was cut off. She felt the tears start to fall, however, she knew that her 'session' was far from over.

It did not end until it was lunch time. Then her torture ended. He took out a bowl of something green. Then he opened her mouth and put a spoon in it and went to feed her like a baby, but she was in far too much shock to have any type of appetite. However, he was able to force the plastic tasting food down her throat. He pinched her nose and covered her mouth which forced her to swallow. This just made her want to throw up.

After lunch, she was back to being tortured under the guise of dissection born from his sadistic intrigue. She was given shocks of what looked like lightning, just to keep her awake! She then fell and was caught by Father Of Knowledge once he was done.

"I must admit that it is intriguing that the cells in your body know how to regenerate the way they do. However it is even more intriguing to see how your soul and spirit seem to be in a state where they are locked to your body. Now I will be studying your spare parts and then tell you of my findings."

He placed a hand on her and she flinched.

"You know, you really are an interesting one. I just can't wait to find out more about you and that body of yours."

Loc looked at him with tired anger. She looked down as he led her out of the room and into the hallway. She was carried down the white hallway by one hand. After what seemed to be like two days in the dark, the light hurt her eyes.

"You will be fine. You can sleep now."

She looked down. She did not want to go to sleep but she was just far too tired. Hey eyes closed to help them adjust to the light. That was when she heard it, the sound of other people. They were shooting. Others, screaming. She even heard cries for help.

They filled her heart with hope. If there were others here, then that meant that, if the number outweighed everyone that worked in this building, then that would mean that there was a chance to escape.

"Where is that coming from?"

"Oh the others? You need not concern yourself with them. Although you will meet them. Well, some of them." He said as he called her to a cell.

There in the cell she just wanted to sleep, but she knew that she could not. She had to keep awake. She knew that she had to think of a plan to get out of here. No more than that, she had to get the others out of here too. After all, she was pretty certain that none of them desired to go through what they were. However, she had to meet them first.

Riot

Loc did not know how long she had been there. Was it days, wood or even a month? She knew that she could not have been there for a year, even though it felt like it. No, to her, it felt like more. She had several white rings around her arms, legs, toes and fingers. She flinched every time the door opened. She felt dead strike her every time she saw Father Of Knowledge come in. He looked at her and smiled. She did not budge as he walked over to her. She climbed to her feet, knowing that there was no other way around it. She followed him to wherever he was leading her like an obedient dog.

They turned a corner that they had not turned before. She did not ask why. She just kept her mouth shut and followed. After all, the sooner that she arrived there, the sooner he could start and the sooner he was done the better. He opened a metal door. He held it out for her. She walked in and she walked behind him. He led her down a black and dark corridor. She kept an eye on him to know where to go.

"Tell me, how long have you been here?"

"Can't tell."

He nodded.

"Have a guess."

"Can't be more than a month."

"Good guess!"

He opened another metal door.

"It has been one month, exactly. Now I think it's time you ought to meet your inmates."

"Delighted."

"Now you will no longer be eating your meals on your own in your cell anymore. You will be having it here."

He led her to a silent cafeteria. There she saw some mopping, others coming in and others walking up and down. She saw the ones that were serving were looking around intently. She didn't look to see the colour of their skin or what colour her eyes glowed.

"Looks good."

"The food is better too."

Then he looked back at her.

"I think it's time I introduced you to everyone!" He said lightheartedly.

She flinched as he put an arm around her and guided her to the other end of the room. He opens the closest door.

"Lorra, this is Life and To Open. Life, To Open, this is Lorra Cerberus."

They looked at her. One had orange skin and yellow burning eyes with silvery blue horns. The other had light yellow skin with white glowing eyes with orange horns.

Father Of Knowledge closed the doors. He walked to the other side of the room and opened another door.

"This is To Break, and War, I keep today together as a joke."

One had been skin with red glowing eyes and silver horns. The other had red skin with lightning blue eyes with yellow horns. They barely acknowledged her.

"Boys, this is Lorra Cerberus." He then moved to the next.

"Loved, My Father Delights. This is Lorra Cerberus."

Inside were two women with silvery skin and yellow glowing eyes with gold horns.

He moved onto the next.

"Snow, Fragrance. Lorra Cerberus."

One was silver worth white horns and eyes. The other had pink skin with bright purple eyes and horns.

"Now, this is where you will be staying from now on." He stayed as he opened the door with the code P-584 on.

P-? There are more levels. More prisoners. More prisoners, more of a chance of getting out of here.

She then spotted a silver skinned woman with purple holding eyes and green horns.

"Silver Winter, this is Lorra Cerberus she's-"

"From another world." She said as she got to her feet.

She walked up to her. She looked at her, almost wondering if what she was seeing was real. She placed a hand on her shoulder and drew her in close. She sniffed her hair. She then looked at Father Of Knowledge and then backed away. She then led her to the bed beside hers.

"Tell me, how did you come here? To this world?" She asked as the door closed.

She let out a sigh and told her everything that has happened to her. She did not know why she was telling her everything but she did. When it was time for lunch they all graduated in the cafeteria. There, she was approached by others and she told them all that had happened to get in a series of hushed whispers. Then To Break leaned in close to her and Silver Winter and To Open.

"We have got to get her to the resistance."

"How? After all, we are all in no state to get her anywhere! Let alone the resistance."

"We could cause a riot?" Loc suggested.

They looked at her confused.

"Look, I'm guessing that there are many levels to this place, so there must be other prisoners here. I admit that I hardly know anything about this world, but there must be a way to get word out to the other levels and to those prisoners and tell them to start a riot too."

They looked at each other completely shocked.

"Why didn't we think of that?" To Open asked.

"I don't know."

"Well, to keep thought on track, we try to keep it secret but the experiments that we have been subjected to did give us some…powers."

"Then why don't you use them?"

"Because it will not do anything."

"How do you know?"

Their faces dropped.

"Have you even tried?"

"Why would we? It won't work."

"That settles it, you're completely from a different world."

They soon finished their meals.

"Lorra Cerberus, lunch is over." Father Of Knowledge said.

Her face dropped. Dread entered her heart as she almost had to force herself on. She screamed as she was cut open and her internal organs were all out on display. She felt him remove them as he explained their each and every use as she felt the itching as they regenerated. Hours later she was dragged to her new bed. She could feel Silver Winter looking at her. Once the door was closed, she placed a hand on her. Suddenly she felt better after that.

"I tried out our powers and I got through."

I could hardly believe it!

Me too!

So, is the riot on?

Not yet.

We need to reach the minds of all the others.

We also need someone who knows the way out of this place.

Good point.

We could see if we could take one of them.

So that's your plan?

Seems so.

With this they were able to sleep. Loc woke early in the morning from a nightmare. She rubbed her eyes and shook her head. She felt tears fall from her eyes. She had no idea why, but she knew that it was about her sisters and friends. If she still had the right to call them that.

Are they really dead? If not, then how did they survive? If they survived them, then what were they doing now? Will they try to find me or would they wish to spend their time doing other things?

Maybe Morgan wouldn't. Auntie Morgan would. She would do all to look for me.

But I shouldn't expect them to rescue me. I have to get all of these people out of here, but I should go with them. They wouldn't leave me behind. But what if they knew who I was, would they still come for me?

That hardly matters. What matters is that good is done. What matters is that everyone escapes this Demon Realm.

"Lorra, it's time to get up." Said Silver Winter.

"I know. So you know what to do?"

She nodded as she looked at her reflection in the glass.

"And I think that we should wipe that hopeful look on your face."

"Why?"

"Father Of Knowledge would know that he hasn't broken you yet."

Loc looked aside and nodded. She covered her arms where the rings were. She didn't have any wish to obtain anymore than she already had.

"Thank you."

Silver Winter looked at her arms. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at them.

"How did you get those?"

"He cut my arms and legs off and they grew back."

She dived at them as her eyes widened as she placed a hand on them.

"How? Why?"

She looked aside.

"I'm immortal. I have been since a month before I got this." She said pointing to the star in between her eyes.

She looked at it, frowning in confusion.

"How come the star and the rose shine different colours?"

Loc's eyebrows raised, frustrated at the fact that she had momentarily forgotten that she was not from this world. But she was mildly frustrated by this. After all, she knew that there was no way of knowing that she didn't see what they saw.

"They do?"

"Yeah, the star's yellow and the rose's purple. The stem is emerald green. It looks creepy, but beautiful."

Her eyes relaxed.

"Well, all I see are just black marks."

"How strange."

Loc nodded.

"Yeah."

They then left. They soon talked with the others in a way that Silver Winter knew would not draw attention. They would be picked for experimentation, Loc mainly. In fact she had spent so much time with him that she was getting used to him by now. He had even started to open up to her. He told her about things about her that interested him. She learnt a few things about her biology that even she did not know about. Like her weight was half of what it should be, or that the white crop of her white hair was brought about by trauma.

He once gave her, what he called, a microscope. She was told to look in it. There, she was red disks instead of her blood.

"What-where's my blood?"

"Lorra, that is your blood."

"Then what are those red disks?"

"Blood cells. They are the things that carry the oxygen and what you get from your food all over your body to keep it working."

Her eyes widened. She told Silver Winter this but she raised her eyes.

You mean you didn't know that?

No.

Well, how primitive could your will be?

I don't know. I guess once I get out of here I'll find out.

She learnt things about science that she did not know. Soon she had become thirsty about this knowledge. In the meantime they planned their riot.

Then the day came. Yet as they did, To Break found out that they could plant thoughts into people's heads.

"Wouldn't it be easier if we all had one place where the prisoners could eat. It would mean that we wouldn't have to hire so many guards." He suggested Father Of Elevation.

Within moments he was soon talking to Father Of Knowledge.

"Yeah…yeah it would!"

Within the weeks all of them were in the same room. They waited another week to let their capturers let their guards down and now the day has come to start the riot. It was tea time and To Break threw a spoon at one of the guards. He looked at him and he looked back mockingly. This provoked the guard to walk closer up to him. He did not like his challenge to his authority.

He walked over to him to save him the trouble then he punched him in his gut. That was when the other guards ran to him only for the other prisoners to hit one across the heat work his tray and another to be punched and another to be hit with food. Then another picked up a chair and hit another guard. Soon they were all fighting and some tried to pull out their guns only for them to be stolen and some soon fell. Then more guards ran in and they did, they too were being mowed down.

Then Loc spotted Father Of Knowledge run in and she ran to him. She slammed her shin into the back of his legs parallel to his knees. She grabbed him by his horns and dragged him over to To Break. She looked around, trying to keep it off everyone's way as she sat a metal tray she ducked and it hit the one that was behind her. She saw a guard in front of her and she picked up the chair nearby and threw it at him. She then had to turn and soon reached him.

"Can you read his mind in this state?"

To Break crouched and looked at him and nodded.

"I know where to go."

"Then lead the way."

Once the last guard fell they ran out of the room and followed him as he led them to freedom.

First Dawn

When they escaped, the first thing that they noticed was that it was night. However, they knew that they could not stop. No, if they did that then they would be caught and any hope of the taste of freedom would be completely crushed. No, they had to continue. As they did, it seemed that Life knew where they were going. Whatever it was, that they were being led to, they knew that they would have to trust her.

They soon came to a street and she turned to the left. She saw a flash of the house that she stayed in and the rebel that died there. In that moment she made a silent vow to herself that no matter what, she would honour his death and the fact that he totaled it all, just to look after her. Yes, she too would become a rebel, the rebel that he knew that she would become. She owed him that much.

The moment passed quickly as they turned corner after corner and then ran down the last street. They soon came to an open road, where a bus was parked. Life ran into the door and she opened it.

"Get in!"

Knowing better than to say anything they did.

"To Break and To Open, you're on rewiring duty."

They nodded. Soon they pulled out tubes with metal strena inside. They both twisted the metal and they were ready.

"Take your seats!"

Loc carried Father Of Knowledge to the back and placed him beside her. They soon set off. Knowing that it had been a long night and it was going to be longer, she pressed her head against the window. She could see the colours blur into each other as the scenery passed before her very eyes faster than they could take in.

The green made her think of the Forest Of Illusions and Max.

What's he doing at the moment? Is he thinking of me? Or is he dead too? Was he killed by those Sunburners? Or an assassin or, I hope not, my sisters?

But why did they look at him-the way they looked at me? With just as much fear as me?

Does it matter? I can't go back and I'm trapped in this world so I must do what I can to help people here. Their problems are now my problems.

She suddenly felt homesick. She wanted to go home. She wished that she could fall into her parents arms. She wished so much that this would turn out to be some bad, messed up dream. Oh how she wished that they were still alive, all of them. Oh how she wished that her sisters didn't kill them. Oh how she wished she could bring them back from the dead. Oh how she missed them.

She could feel that she had a headache that she knew stemmed from being in this world too long. Not that she could do anything about it. She could not even leave this world. Not in the state that she was in, nor did she have a way to leave. So she would have to endure it. She closed her eyes to ease it. Her eyes burnt slightly. Soon that subsided and so did the rest of this strange world as she drifted into slumber.

She woke up as they pulled as they pulled up to a small hut. It seemed like it had been abandoned decades ago, leaving it to be devoured by the elements. She wondered if she would end up like that. Devoured by the elements.

"Alright you lot! Time to get out!" Silver Winter shouted.

She looked beside her. Father Of Knowledge was still next to her. She stretched as his eyes opened. He looked around completely alarmed as his eyes and head darted around frantically. He then relaxed for a moment and smiled.

"Get up!" Silver Winter snapped.

He smiled and shrugged. He stood and put his hands into his coat pockets. Loc followed them out of the bus.

"What is that?" She asked, pointing to the bus.

"A bus. Don't they have any where you're from?"

"No."

"Enough, now follow me!" She snapped.

"Yes ma'am!" He sang.

They both followed her into the hut. In front of them was a trap door. She then walked up to Father Of Knowledge.

"You do realise that they can track that?" He said, nodding back to the bus.

Loc frowned wondering how that could be tracked. But realising that it must have a scientific explanation, she also realised that it did not matter.

"Oh, To Break and To Open are all over that." Life said. "Now, you're going first."

"Alright! Blimey you can be rough!"

She pushed him on. He smirked.

"Easy darling!"

He descended. They all went down the ladder. They then walked down a metal pathway. They, street what seemed like an hour, stopped in front of two doors.

"This is Life. I have someone I would like you to meet."

They all looked at Loc. The door opened and they walked in.

"Loc, come with me." Life called.

She looked and nodded. She walked next to her.

"Silver Winter, To Break, you stay by him."

They grabbed Father Of Knowledge by both his arms. They led him away with Life following behind.

"I'm going to introduce you to our leader, Light Bringer. He is alright and stern."

They even walked for an hour and the door opened. There she saw a man with crimson skin and yellow eyes and orange horns. He wore a black shirt and trousers. He then yawned. He blinked several times as he fought against the sleep.

"This is too early!" He muttered.

Then his eyes rested upon Loc. He smirked as his eyes widened and suddenly he was wide awake.

"Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? I'm not having a strange dream about those stories my father told me about as a child, am I?"

Life smiled and nodded.

"Wow! Are you really from another world?"

"Yes, why?"

"Bless me! I can hardly believe it! My father was right!"

"Yes and another thing you're not going to believe. Father Of Knowledge experimented on some of us and we have powers now."

"Are you mad?"

"Are you?"

His jaw dropped lower and Light Bringer's eyes widened as his eyebrows were raised so much that they were almost touching the horn line on his head.

"Well I say, things really are changing around here."

"Now what do we do?" Asked Loc, feeling lost.

"Sleep, then I'll sign you to your mission. Mainly to see what you're made of."

She nodded.

"Now Life, find her a room." He said.

She nodded.

"Come on." She said as she led her out of the door.

"What is this magic known as technology? I heard Father Of Knowledge talk about it. Sure we have technology where I'm from but that all works on magic."

She laughed.

"Well we don't. We use science."

"How?"

"I'll explain when we have the time to." She said as she yawned.

She soon led her to the room. The room was dark and metal. The bed had a black thin mattress made of a substance that she did not recognize.

"Here, I have no room mate so that bed's yours."

She took the one on the right. She lay down and her eyes closed before she knew it. Then, before she knew it, she was being woken up. She was then shown the shower and how to use it. She soon took one. After she felt cleaner than she ever had been before! Even when she was being cleaned with that golden liquid when she was with the Sunburners! She even smelt better than she had ever smelt before!

Life walked in.

"Ready?" She asked as she passed her a new set of clothes.

They were black underwear, trousers, a black shirt and a grey jacket. She looked at the black bra in confusion.

"That's a bra. I mean it's no corset but it's better." She said before showing her how to put it on.

She soon felt that she could breathe better with it on.

When she put on her other clothes, she looked at herself in the mirror for the first time before she came here. She touched the scar on her throat. She then turned around and followed Life out of the room and soon they were at Light Bringer's room.

"Morning." He said as he took his poison at the front. "Well as we know where the Evil Emperor's science division is, I think that it's about time we took it out, once and for all."

She noticed that To Open, Silver Winter and To Break were there too.

"Now, time to address the elegia in the room. Like the old prophecy of the other worlder states, I must tell you that there is someone from another world in the room.

Suddenly Loc hearts whispering in the room. She could feel her discomfort start to stir. Yet she spotted some of them smile and some looked at him as if he was crazy.

"That's nonsense! There are no other worlds." To Break laughed. "Whoever they are, they are clearly a liar!"

Loc felt her legs move before she had even time to register. She then looked him in the eye.

"Do I look like I'm from this world?"

They looked at her and became silent.

"Can we try to go back to planning shall we?"

Loc nodded as she sat back down.

"Now Loc you would be taking up with this group and you will blow it up."

"How?"

He raised a box.

"This is a bomb. I don't know how things are in your world, but in this one, these things blow things up. To Break will be able to teach you how."

She nodded.

"Now, all of you need to do is get back in there tonight, plant the bomb and get out. However, I do realise that things can go wrong so don't hold it against yourself. Now you all need to get weapons of your own. So all of you, hey some sleep early this afternoon. Life, I would like for you to find out what Loc is capable of."

"Right, but I will have to suggest that she had a shadow blade."

He looked at her and nodded.

"I will trust your judgement."

"Loc, come on."

She got out of her chair and walked up to a rectangular machine. She pushed a few buttons and soon she heard something hit the bottom of the machine. She then passed her a silver bar. She looked at it not knowing what she was to do with it. She looked up at Life as she broke the silver off it and she did the same. This revealed a shiny blue rectangle underneath. She saw her bow into it and she did the same. Suddenly she could taste sweet blueberries and roses. She soon ate it.

They then walked to the weapons room. There, she gave her a long blade that, despite its size, felt lighter than a small pole! It was turquoise with the guard covered with lilac leather.

"Wow! It's lighter than it looks!"

"I know! Shaw iron is the strongest and lightest metal that was ever found. It's so light that even a toddler could hold an arm full. Thought it would do all with someone like you."

"You're right. Not to mention it's beautiful!"

She chuckled.

"Right, now I think that it's gone to see what you're made of!"

So for the next hour they spent training. As the session went on it became all too clear that Life was right. It took her only fifteen minutes to get used to the blade, but that was all that was needed. So when they returned she knew that she was ready to carry out her mission. So she closed her eyes and drifted off.

She woke up only what seemed like a moment later. She quickly took her shower and got her clothes on. She then took her shaw blade and before she knew it, they were off. They were back in the bus, where she got a little more sleep before she woke up.

They had arrived. She looked at the building that Father Of Knowledge had tortured both her and many others under the guise of science. There she had learnt about parts of her that she never even knew about.

Time to be a rebel. She thought as the last light went out.

They drove to a secluded area of the building. Life, To Open, To Break and Loc walked out. To Open looked at the door and crouched. There, she spent time picking the lock. Then they were soon in. They flattened themselves against the walls and looked down the corridor. Seeing that it was clear they moved lightly down it. Loc found it strange to hear her footsteps quieter than they used to be. They soon came to a door. To Break checked the door and picked it. Soon that was open to.

They walked in and climbed a ladder to the bottom. She started to hear a low humming and running water.

"Where are we going?"

"Shh!"

"Why?"

"We're right under the centre of the building."

She nodded as they continued. They walked slowly and steady and soon they stopped. To Break took out the bomb. She looked up and at To Break. He handed her the bomb. She looked at it wondering what to do. She put it on a metal tub.

"Good place!" He commented.

"Now what do I do?"

"You see those numbers?"

"Yes."

"Press five, zero, zero."

She did and as quickly as possible.

"Now press the green arrow."

She did.

"Now we have done minutes to get out of here."

They nodded and ran as fast as they could. Loc, found that she was able to run faster and better than before, yet they soon came to the ladder and she almost ran up them. Yet she could feel herself getting slightly tired. These past couple of months had left her out of practice. She knew that she needed to pick off the rust. Yet she ran back down all of the corridors and they were all on the bus.

She looked back as they drove off to see the explosive flames burst out of the building.

"That's what the bomb did?"

"Yes."

Where To Next

They arrived at noon the following day. Loc was hungry and was ready for something to eat, even if it tasted like paper. No, even if it was paper. Yet she wished that she had something to record all that she had learnt on, so that she could remember it for later. She soon left the bus and everyone gathered in some hall. She was about to follow her group until Life and Light Bringer separated hey from the group. They led her to a small room.

"Loc, we're about to start your initiation ceremony. So, do you wish to do this privately or publicly?" He asked.

Loc thought about it for a moment. Part of her did not want any attention brought to her, but also she knew that publicly would make it official and declare to everyone that she was here, a girl from another world. Yet they're was another reason why she wanted to do this publicly, she knew that this would have been what To Break Son Of Peter would have wanted her to do.

"Public. I want to make a public declaration."

"Then follow me." He said as he led the way and she, despite screaming inside, followed him down the long corridor.

"By the way, you don't suffer from motion sickness do you?"

"No, why?"

"We'll be leaving after all of this is done. We will be going on a ship. The Captain's been a member of the rebellion for years and he knows and has prepared the way for us."

She nodded.

"So we should expect a safe journey and docking?"

"Should be!" He sighed. "Although, it never is. By the way, are you good at building?"

"I don't know. I've never had to build anything before."

He nodded.

They walked down the corridor. Soon they were on the stage. She felt the screaming inside increase yet she did all that she could to remain calm. She followed Light Bringer to the stage. Life gestured to a chair, feeling her heart in her ears and scared she then joined her on the front row. She saw Silver Winter behind her. Her eyes covered the rest of the audience. She could feel her heartbeat so fast as her chest became tight. She focused upon her breathing to keep herself calm but she could feel her breath become more rapid. She closed her eyes and brought up things that would make her calm. She kept this up until she was finally calm.

Light Bringer took his position at the front centre of the stage.

"Greetings."

They did and strong this, she stood too. He gestured for her to sit. So she, along with everyone else, sat.

"I have good news. All of our goals here have been met. So we will be moving on to the next place and we have a bigger challenge ahead of us. But I will not lie, not all of us are going to see that day that we are all free. In fact none of us might see that day! Yet we should not give up!"

"Yeah!" They all cheered as they clapped their hands.

After a while, he gestured for them all to become quiet.

"So I would like for us to have a moment of silence for the lost over the course of this whole, long year."

The room went completely silent. She closed her eyes and thought about To Break Son Of Peter. He, without any obligation or reward, took her in. He did not know who she was or what she was like nor did he care. In fact she had never known such kindness before, not without there being an evil plot or something, well apart from her group in the academy. He told her that it would have been a good idea to join the resistance, yet he never forced her. Now was the time to see if he was right.

I will be this land. Even if I don't see it I will free it in your memory and thank you.

Soon the silence was over.

"Let us hope that their sacrifice will not be in vain."

They nodded and placed their hands over their hearts.

"Right. Now." He gestured to Loc.

She stood, despite shaking like a leaf. He gestured for her to approach. She walked up to him, her legs were shaking slightly, but she forced herself on. She knew that they were on the verge of turning into jelly.

Come on! Get a hold on yourself! Just focus on Light Bringer. Drive everything else out everything else.

Soon he caught her once she had reached him.

"Are you alright? Are you sure-"

"Yes."

He nodded.

"I would like you to be introduced to Loc. Who, if you have not realised by her looks, is from another world."

She suddenly hearts the whispering again. She knew that it was to be expected. She knew that she would have to get used to this. After all, she was the only proof that other worlds even existed.

"Which, as you can tell by her name, in her world people are not referred to by the name's meaning, no but by their name itself. If she was born here then she would have been called Sorrowful Demon Of The Pit. However we will all call her Loc, her preferred name."

She let out a long sigh.

Well was it in a nutshell!

"Now come."

She let him guide her to the front.

"Now, put your hand over your heart."

She did.

"Now make your pledge."

"I pledge to aid your rebellion. I pledge to bring nothing but my best and I even pledge all that I am to the freedom of this world." She said, trying not to make it obvious that she was making it up on the spot.

"Good. That is all we ask. You shall be free from this pledge once the evil in this world is finally taken down. Now place the palm of your hand on my chest."

She did.

"Do you wish to give all you have to this cause?"

"Yes."

He nodded and she was finally able to take her seat. Afterwards, she was able to celebrate with the others. But once night fell again they were all packing their things and made their way to the docks. Then, when they were in the ship she just crashed into a deep sleep.
